I absolutely loved my first dreadlock experience with Dread Mama! I opted for extensions which they handmade out of wool. I am very happy with how they turned out. 10/10 recommend !

Hanah started my second set of locks. I've been going to her for over a year and she does amazing work. I've been a dreadhead for 9 total years and she is the most skilled loctician I've had work on my hair. In addition, she goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. The vibes are immaculate and I look forward to our chats during my maintenance sessions. 10/10 would recommend!

Hanah is absolutely amazing. She gave my baby dread life again and I couldn’t be happier. She installed it about 9 months ago so it was definitely needing some TLC. Even though I moved away, I will continue to make my appointments with her when I’m back in town because she is so experienced, her knowledge is incredible, and her vibe is stellar. She also was so patient with my 18 month old while he watched Ms Rachel and snuggled her stuffed animal. Attached pictures are before, during, and after she fixed and wrapped it. I couldn’t be happier!

Some of these reviews sound like they are 100% from Karen’s 😂 Over a year of going to hanah monthly. My dread journey started April 2023. I was excited to cross this off my list and I did my research to find a good quality loctician and I came across hanah. My wife and I had a consultation with her that solely revolved around what I wanted and what I was expecting. She heard all my input, patiently and professionally answered my wife’s 1000 questions. Made multiple suggestions on what we could do and what she thought was best that also fit into what I wanted to achieve and my lifestyle. I pulled the trigger and got a dread Mohawk, about 15 total, I added single extensions and double extensions. The extension quality was very well done. I had one dread that the color started to bleed and fade. She immediately made it right, only took 1 email to get an immediate response. No issues since (over a year ago) I work in a professional environment so I go monthly for upkeep to help control the fizziness (I have straight hair). It takes roughly an hour every month. With her flexible hours there’s always availability that fits with my schedule. The vibes and energy are very comfortable and positive. At this point Hanah is also my therapist and listens to me venting about life problems while we laugh and joke. I’ve never seen her in a sh*tty mood or lack any professionalism even though I’m sure she has good and bad days like everyone. Every month on Saturday I see her and I’m always very satisfied when I leave. I get a lot of compliments and kind words about my hair. *recently a cosmetology instructor was checking out my dreads and he said that the way she did them is the best way and “those are some of the best dreads I’ve seen. Normally people just interlock but the quality here is really good. It’s harder to do it this way for the loctician but it’s by far the best way for the quality” Prices are reasonable, nothing crazy. I’m personally of the mindset that good work ain’t cheap and cheap work ain’t good. If I’m going to ask someone to spend several hours fixing my hair in their own home then it’s worth the money spent on my end. Fyi, there is an initial small scheduling fee ($50 I believe) just to ensure that your not a weird Karen who tries to waste peoples time. After first visit it’s not a thing anymore.

Unprofessional and had to threaten with a small claims action to get a deposit back. I emailed and asked to schedule an appointment and rather than asking for a consultation, they suggested a time. After setting a time and getting the deposit (did not communicate their appointment or deposit policy), they said it would take them 5 hours to do a job which has always taken less than a hour. I cancelled immediately and they tried to keep my deposit.

Hanah did such an awesome job on my full install yesterday! I am more than pleased. She is very knowledgeable and her work is gorgeous. She did an incredible job explaining to me the ins and outs of taking care of my precious baby locs. They look amazing, she really knows what she is doing! I would recommend her to anyone looking to start their dread journey. I am so thankful that I found her! Thank you Hanah!!!

Hanah is amazing! She tries her best to make your long appointment comfortable and answers all your dread questions thoughtfully. I am new to dreads and probably spent the first 4 hours of my 12 hour install just discussing expectations and maintenance. She has an amazing work ethic and tries her best to work with me on packing as much as possible in our appointment since I travel almost 4 hours to see her. I got my install from her after researching different locticians around Colorado. I chose to begin my dread journey with Dread Mama because of the amazing prices and the homey vibe. The install came with a free 1 month maintenance in order to show you what well maintained baby dreads can look like. Very smart marketing strategy. It got me hooked. New dreads goes through some awkward fluffy stages and I would honestly rather ensure they lock right while keeping my professional job happy than attempt to wait it out. I love Hanah's vibe. She's very nice but honest. She'll let you know if you're doing something to mess up your hair but will happily try to fix your mistakes. As long as she's in CO, she's my go-to studio.

How cool. I have always wanted dreads! If I ever do get them I will come here. They do dread maintenance too. I haven't used this service personally but I took a close friend there and they were very satisfied. My friend doesn't do reviews but recommends them to you.

After scheduling a session months in advance, and purchasing travel to come from out of town she cancelled on me only hours beforehand. I tried calling/texting/email/fb weeks and days ahead of time to confirm with no response. When she finally did text back the night before (after I changed my travel plans due to lack of response) I asked if she could discount the service by what my travel costs were. No response again. Extremely unprofessional and shady.

I’m going to just put this here...in a nice way. I understand people are busy and plans change, but when it comes to a business you should let people know if you are canceling an appointment. We had several correspondence via email confirming my appointment on August 28th. I was coming from Albuquerque because I haven’t found anyone in ABQ to work properly on my hair. I sent pictures and we talked back and forth about what was going to be done. So, as you can probably tell where I’m going with this...come August 27th I emailed to confirm the appointment was still on, with no response. So, on the 28th I show up at the address before the appointment time and nobody is home. I call the number to find out she is out of town until mid September. I knock on the door and look at her website only to find out that she will not be showing up for my appointment. I do not have a Facebook or maybe I would have known beforehand that I would not have an appointment. To say I was disappointed was an understatement. I hope that your future clients are made aware of your cancellation beforehand and that maybe you take into consideration people who will be traveling to you for an appointment. Good luck to you✌🏽
