Mama Debbie will get you right! She treats every loc as an art piece. She takes the time to intricately mold and shape them to flow fall in line all while telling you stories about her grand babies and putting you on good music and vibes. She may be singing or dancing at any given moment. It’s an energy you can’t describe and Raylynn will have you laughing and sharing stories about your life. It’s like a therapy session being in dread rock salon. All positive energy. No better place in Oregon. Highly recommended.

These ladies are incredible! Best experience. So personable, real, fun and very talented. My box braids looks beautiful! Super tight, and well done. To get me out on time, Debbie stepped over for 20 minutes to help get the job done. These ladies will take care of you!

I would suggest not booking with Je’nae Cole. She lied and said she could do my desired style after I sent her several pictures of the style and my natural hair. My hair looked nothing like what I asked for and was VERY messy after just a two days. The real problem was when she was asked to fix my hair she was extremely unprofessional about assisting me. Told me she could fix HER mistake for 100 dollars in two weeks. I wasted 260 dollars here plus hair and she did not care. Take your money else where.

My emails requesting to make an appointment were ignored after I sent the photo below of a hairstyle that apparently they can’t do. Before this photo I sent a picture of regular cornrows to which I was informed by the owner I have locs…as if I wasn’t already aware of the style my hair is currently in. That was the last email I received. No “sorry we’re unable to make a reservation at this time” Nothing. How does one run a business while simultaneously push away new customers?

I have some of the most beautiful locks in the world! I have straight hair and get complimented all over the U.S! Everyone always asks who does my hair. Dread Rock!! Debbie is wonderful and you will not find a better place for dreads.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place, the vibe is right & everyone in the shop is super cool. I worked with Magdalene and she did amazing & talked higher on her fellow employees, they take the covid very seriously and that is a plus, compared to other places. If you are looking for the best place in Portland or in the northern Oregon area, this is the place for you.

I was hesitant about getting dreads in the first place because I have such thick, course hair, but decided to take the chance. First of all, Debbie is the ONLY dreadlock hair dresser to respond to my calls, and she got me in the same day I called! Worked on my big head of hair for about 7 hours! And I've never been happier. I teared up a bit once she was finished because she put all my fears to rest and made me look so good! Thank you Debbie and Dread Rock Salon for doing such amazing work and being so friendly!

Salon and staff are great for your Loc’s a Little spendy but if you have the money it’s well worth it. I love her shampoos and conditioning.

The appointments I have had here have been good, when I can get one. I’ve never had so much trouble trying to get scheduled to have my hair done. I’ve called multiple times over the past six months and either they don’t answer and their mailbox is full or when someone answers I get told to text them photos of my dreads, and when I do they don’t ever respond back. This makes me feel like they don’t care about my business so I guess I’ll go somewhere else where I’ll get better customer service.
