DREADS ON LOC - TAMPA

It's sad to have to leave this review, but my goal is simply to encourage this business to do better and be more professional, as proper communication is important to most people. I booked an appointment for a deep condition & hot oil treatment for my locs, along with a retwist for Friday Nov 29th. I booked this appointment 4 days ago, but for 3 days, I had been trying to reach this shop and the stylist to ensure the appointment would actually take place the day after Thanksgiving. I'm visiting the area and I know holidays change things sometimes. I did receive the automatic automated email response regarding an appointment confirmation when I booked, but to make sure the holiday didn't conflict, I tried several times to reach out to a human. Why? I was trying to avoid any miscommunications, a waste of a trip to Tampa, and any other possible "no show" charges or late fees, especially since I was just visiting the state and simply needed some basic maintenance on my locs. I called the business number and left a message, no returned call. I texted the number on the website that says "text us" and I received an automated response, which summarized "someone would get back to you immediately". Never heard from anyone. On Wednesday, Nov 27th (today), I reached out one final time before canceling. Nothing. Not even a pigeon with a letter. Needless to say, this was all a waste of time. Where is the etiquette when it comes to communication? Otherwise, the shop appears to do well with locs on a general consensus based on some basic online reviews, however, I unfortunately cannot vouche for them myself. My locs have been struggling because of the lack of care that was put into locking my hair and then I paid over 200$ for a retwist that didn’t even look good in the end. I’m going to the dreadqueen where I know locs gon get taken care of. Do better.

First time getting dreadlocks and she was very friendly and professional! Good music too! It was a very positive experience. Would highly recommend for folks wanting to try something new with their hair 👌🏿💯

I love the service provided by Neshia. It's quick but professional and clean. My locs always look fresh when I leave and the style last for awhile. Book with her and I promise you will keep coming back!

Listen, I am not sure how this woman does not have a 5 star, but I’ll explain my amazing experience. My day was drastically going south as my old hairstylist butchered my “dreads” and somehow magically gave me box braids… seemingly without us both knowing, I wonder how?? Now let’s talk about how my day was saved hair. She was very knowledgeable in exactly the style I wanted and helped me get started on a journey I was deceived in thinking I was already on. She is the absolute best, she was even able to fit me in after realizing it would be more work than we had originally planned for. I WILL be coming back and I suggest anyone thinking about it, to follow suit.

Neisha did a great job on my Locs. I went on a cruise after getting my hair done and got so many compliments! Definitely gonna go to her from now on because she is great! I’m also obsessed with the locstyle she did on my hair as it looks so good! I have went swimming , sweated and so much more and my retwist and style is still lasting.

Niesha does NOT know how to do interlocking retwists!!! She literally just retwisted my micro locs like they are traditional- she didn't interloc them at all. Some of them she skipped entirely. Almost 3 years of growth damaged because she lied about being able to do a service. She also tried to reschedule EVERY appointment I had with her. When I was finally able to get in, not only did she not have the dye we needed for my color appointment, she waited until I was already in her chair to inform me. The most unprofessional hair service I've ever had. She even tried to tell me my locs were too small and that I should combine some of them. Like no, if you're too lazy to do a service don't offer it. TL;DR If you have interlocked micro or sisterlocs save your hair and go to someone else. UPDATE: (1 month later since that's when they chose to respond!) So apparently the reason my service was terrible was because Neisha thought I have sisterlocks and claims I tried to change my appointment last minute to save money.... Not only did that not happen, I even tipped her still after a bad service because I know what it's like working in a service industry. Trust me, money was NEVER the issue. I booked a microloc interloc retwist with color and expected exactly that service, period. If she felt like my locs were too small, why didn't she correct me when we had our first appointment? Make it make sense. Smh. Even if it's true that my locs are "too small" it doesn't excuse the lack of professionalism, not having the color for my service, repeated reschedules, or the fact that she did a traditional retwist on microlocs without informing me of the change, ultimately risking the integrity of my hair. The lack of accountability is outrageous. So happy I found a new stylist! Good luck out there with that attitude!

Today, I had my first appointment since I moved from PA for my locs to be retwisted. Being a new Tampa resident, it is very scary to not know the area & you don’t just want anyone touching your locs…but I’m glad it was Neisha who I could trust to take care of my Locs! She was very professional & kind over the phone when asking any question before the appt. She sends reminders of your upcoming appointment which helps when life is busy! When entering, the facility was clean, smelled nice, & she even had music playing which was a whole vibe! She washed my hair well & retwisted my whole head in 30 mins! Once my hair was dried from being under the dryer , she quickly styled my hair in the way that I asked! That is the quickest retwist I’ve ever had & my hair is BEAUTIFUL!! I instantly received SEVERAL compliment as soon as I walked out the door! I’d definitely recommend coming to her shop! She was very nice, funny, & had tons of charisma! Book Neisha! You won’t be disappointed! I’ll be booking my next appt asap!

I made an appt 7 days in advance and the "stylist" texted me the day before my appt to say she is overbooked (shouldn't you keep up with your scheduling to avoid that?) and to reschedule for the next day. I texted her for directions, no response. I get there on time but 2 different people are being serviced ahead of me (This place double, triple books) I get no acknowledgment or estimation of wait. I always go to Black hairstylist with very low expectations because most are unprofessional. I left and made an appt at an African hair braiding business (what I should've did in the first place) and I've never had this sort of experience with the Africans. Btw, I only wanted two strand twist (starter locs) which only takes maybe 45 mins.

My sister came to get her hair done here 2 weeks ago. She wanted starter dreads and was under the impression she’d be paying $85 like the website said. Halfway through her hair being done Nesha informed her the service would be $200!! Not only is that a ridiculous price for any shop but her hair isn’t even shoulder length. Her not knowing the prices for dreads she paid it but I was very upset that this was even the result. Simple twists for $200?! SMH very upsetting and we will not be returning for any services after that SCAM!!

Neshia was good until she canceled my appointment serval times and during a week! Then to tell me the day before a important event I should find someone else because!! I didn’t appreciate this at all terrible
