I hate to leave a bad review but oh boy this place has gone downhill. I booked an appointment about a month and a half ago for a blowout for my company’s year end black tie holiday party. I was a little indecisive a few days before about how I wanted to do my hair and thought about changing it to an updo. I decided to go with a half up, half down look but didn’t think to change it to a updo in my booking. What I wanted was so simple that I honestly could have done it myself but did not want to cancel and wanted to feel somewhat pampered for this event. When I got there, there was no one there except for the girl at the front desk (the one star is for her because she was very nice). My “stylist” comes out about 5 minutes later looking incredibly frazzled and as if she is possibly either incredibly nervous or on drugs. Her behavior was so bizarre I can’t even begin to describe it. I told her what I wanted and she kept saying I was booked for a blowout and she didn’t have time to do what I wanted. It was 4 pm so it was still early in the day but on a Friday it should have been a lot busier but she said she had to take her break right after I left because someone called out. Fine, I get it, I worked in places before where we’ve been short staffed and I know it’s stressful. I told her I didn’t have a lot of hair and it would be easy. She said I can do it but we wouldn’t be able to wash your hair. I told her I haven’t washed my hair in 5 days so it’s greasy and gross and she kept saying it wouldn’t look bad but I knew it would. So finally I settled on the blowout and figured I would go for the old Hollywood glam. When she brought me to the back to wash my hair, I looked up at the ceiling and it was covered in dust and cobwebs as if no one had ever cleaned it. Very gross. She didn’t rush through the blowout but barely curled it and it looked nothing like the old Hollywood glam I had picked from their book. The back was completely flat and looked terrible so I asked her to add some waves and she tried but my hair wasn’t holding it I guess. I didn’t even take a picture of it because it just looked so bad. I ended up going home and the girl who did my makeup fixed it so it looked a little better but I still was pretty disappointed. Even my boyfriend asked why my hair wasn’t done when he got to my place (before the makeup artist fixed it). Then when I went to check out, their system wasn’t working so she had to manually enter my card and it still wasn’t working. I finally had to call my bank and it worked but it made me late for my next appointment. They said that sometimes their system works and sometimes it doesn’t and it’s been like that for a while. You would think in a place like Brentwood the place would be clean, it would be busy and their system would work. But there was none of that. I’m sad to see this place go so downhill from what it used to be. This was the most depressing and disappointing experience I’ve ever had here.

I made an appointment for 10am. When I arrived there were two people with soaking wet hair in the chairs just starting. It’s now 10:20 with no sign of getting in the chair. Unbelievable. If they had people call out they need to let the customer know. Terribly run. I have a bunch of events and a job so my schedule is not flexible, and it’s extremely unprofessional to make an appointment and not even remotely keep it.

I'm reluctant to leave negative reviews, but after two weeks of trying to reach out to the salon and receiving no response, I feel compelled to share my experience. On March 11, 2024, I had an appointment at this Drybar at 5:00 pm. I arrived early, and there was only one stylist present, who was finishing up with another client. Although I anticipated a delay and was patient, my experience went downhill from there. I needed a wash and blow-dry for an interview the next day and had informed both the receptionist and the stylist that I have hair extensions. I was aware of and willing to pay the additional $20 fee for extensions. Unfortunately, the stylist, while very nice, seemed inexperienced with extensions and ended up pulling out six of mine (I have the F-tips method) and loosening the rest, making them look like they were two months old instead of the two weeks since they were installed. Despite this, I still tipped the stylist through Venmo as he requested, since he couldn't work the payment system and told me I'd be charged the next day. I asked them to call me before charging, but I received no call and was charged anyway. I called to inform the receptionist of my experience and requested to speak with a manager, but no one ever got back to me. If you have extensions, I strongly advise against going to this Drybar. I now have to spend more money to get my extensions tightened. This was, by far, the worst investment I've made.

I go here around 3-4 times per month and it's always been really smooth --- much better than the location on Montana Ave. The Montana DryBar has a lot more scheduling problems (running super late or calling me to come in early). I heard the reason why this DryBar is pretty prompt and timely is because the manager has actually worked as a stylist herself and knows how to schedule time slots properly... it shows! Maddy Quinn is a sweetheart and great stylist. There is another stylist who is also wonderful -- she is slim with very long straight hair, almost like a 1970s hippie. She is very quiet but super meticulous and focused and impressive also. But I come here ALL THE TIME and pretty much have only had good experiences! Pick here over the Montana DryBar. Stylists are less stressed and the scheduling is better.

I had one of the best blowouts here last week. I wish I remembered the stylists name. I have very long and thick hair. It’s hard to blowout my hair and a lot of stylists have trouble with it, so I’m very cautious with how it’s done. She did my hair perfectly with volume and everything I wanted. If I lived here I’d go to that stylist every week.

I showed a picture of what I wanted to the stylist. It was from their own social media. There's no mirror so I wasn't able to see my hair until she finished. Nothing like what I requested. I had told her this was for my wedding too & she put on a movie about divorce. I also had requested a scalp treatment, that never happened. Luckily that wasn't added to my total. Waste of time & money. Now my wedding pictures don't have the hair I wanted.

WORST experience at a hair salon. At worst stylists comments were racially discriminatory and at best they were ignorant and rude. Someone who is unfamiliar with diverse hair styles and textures should not work in a salon with a diverse clientele

If I could leave a negative review I would. Got a major burn on my forehead while getting my hair done at the Brentwood location. The staff was unapologetic about it,rude, mean and I have been threatened. Reached out the main company which is not willing to cooperate and reimburse the medical bills even. If you are a professional looking for experienced hair stylist not just part time ( not even sure insured or licensed ) workers avoid this place/ chain.Taking legal actions moving forward

My daughter went yesterday for a blowout & showed the stylist what wanted in their photo menu. She is a professional model & knows quite a bit about hairstyling. She was going for loose beachy waves, probably one of the most common, current trends not a unique complicated style. When given tight banana curls like a 9 yr old pagent girl, she asked the stylist to help loosen them up. No attempt was made to correct, she was told “they’ll fall out on their own”. She suggested, maybe you can pin the front back. NOT what she wanted but trying to make the best of a bad situation. Unhappy, she proceeded to the register & handed a receipt that included an extra charge for $20 for the 2 bobby-pins and labeled it “braids”. There was no braiding involved. When she explained that this was to try to remedy the mistake in styling & never told there would be an extra charge. The “manager” scoffed “You’re lucky we’re only charging you $20 more. We could’ve charge $40-50 more for an up-do”. Besides wasting 1hr & $75 + tips (done prior to check out & the condescending exchange) my daughter was embarrassed, upset & had to go home and re-do the mess they made. The only thing worse than the poor service is the awful attitude. With all the hair salons in town, there is no need to go here.

The staff was very mean and unprofessional. Did my hair horrible. And when I complained and told her it is not good. She kept asking what’s wrong. I told her was ugly and looked really bad. She went over it. But she just wasn’t able to. As if she has never done blow out. I swear my cleaning lady would do better job. It didn’t even looked like it was done let alone professionally. From the moment I walked in. They were all with attitude and rude. I apologized for saying was ugly then she tried to give me a lesson. She should do her job right and if she doesn’t know how she shouldn’t work at all. Was awful. Never ever again. Very rude.
