Best blowouts in San Diego. One of my favorite places to go every week. The team is talented in blowouts and I can swap it out with big bouncey curls to waves to beachy look. Love the stylists

I won’t be back. I’m really disappointed. I just got home from my appointment and there are full sections in the back that she didn’t curl like the rest. It seems like they don’t really care about doing a good job or making customers happy.

My review is based solely on their customer service and not the actual service. While I understand I called in for a same day appt, I was told to call back in 20 minutes and they’d be able to schedule me for a same day visit. I did just that and they didn’t answer the phone the 2 times I called. Once I called from another phone, I got an answer almost immediately and was told they had no availability despite me explaining that I was told to call back for an appointment. If I ever go here, I may update my review to include feedback based on their service.

I showed up literally 4 mins after my appointment and they refued to style my hair saying it was wet. It was dry. And the stylist didnt even look me in the eye. Unbelievably terrible service

Giving two stars for the girl who did my hair. She was super nice and gave me lots of great styling tips. However… I paid for curls and my hair was completely flat and lifeless less than 30 minutes later. It’s odd— she used velcro rollers and the curling wand, lots of product, and nothing held. No volume. Nothing. I curl my hair at home with a $20 wand and the curls last for days with minimal product. I’m not sure if it’s the Dry Bar hot tools or products that suck, but never again. I paid $70 for someone to wash and dry my hair.

My stylist was In a hurry and did a sloppy job. The the hair wash she splashed water all over my face in the most careless way and there was no scalp massage. She was so lazy and didn’t want to put rollers throughout my hair. My hair is frizzy and not bouncy at the ends. Not worth $59 bucks for sure. I can do a better job at home with hot rollers.

"A picture is worth a thousand words," and here I have 4000 words to describe our experience. This is what we paid $120 for because it was not included in the subscription. We took these photos right after leaving the salon in the parking lot because I told my husband that my hair felt so unstable it was about to fall apart. Those bobby pins were halfway out by themselves; we didn't touch them before taking the picture. That's how unprofessional the hairdresser was. She even made a group of my hair go through another group to hold them up (as shown in the last photo). I have never seen anyone do that in my entire life. If you don't know how to braid, please don't claim you do, pretend you do, or promote it in your marketing materials. I am so relieved I tried it in advance before my event day. Later, I hired somebody from Yelp, and my hair held up throughout the entire event, unlike these 4000 words which fell apart right away. I canceled my subscription immediately after leaving because that's how furious I was at that moment. I didn't yell at my hairdresser or anyone; I even tipped her well. However, as a friendly warning, I would recommend going somewhere else.

After reading the reviews I’m not surprised I had a dissatisfied experience here this week. I originally had an appointment at the Encinitas location but ended up staying closer to this one so I switched the appointment without checking the reviews. The only star goes to the nice receptionist who checked me in and answered my questions. It went down hill when my stylist got me. I shared I was going to a wedding later that day, that’s why I was there, and she was very uninterested in talking further, so I wasn’t going to force a conversation. I picked my blowout style and went went to wash my hair. It felt like she did even wash my whole head, and only lightly wiping shampoo around. While I can see others next to me getting a good scrub. There’s was even soap left around my ears I wiped off. Now onto the chair… she didn’t even brush out my hair and went straight into blow drying… I’m watching other women with shorter hair get treated with much more care and grace while my stylist was rushing through. I was early to my appointment, so it wasn’t like I was running late. After the blow dry she wanted to stop when I ask if she could curl my hair. Breezing through that I was finished as the same time some of the other people were there before me, again with shorter hair. I came home and had to re style it. Very disappointed with the over all experience and I will never go back to that location. Save your money and try your luck at another location.

I have no idea why this place has such a low review but I had the most amazing experience. The girls at the front desk were extremely friendly, offering me a beverage as I was getting my blowout. The woman who did my blowout was named Sky—she did such a fantastic job on my hair and we had a wonderful conversation, as well. I would recommend her and come back to this location next time I am in the area.

I’ve been coming here at least twice a week since the end of October because I had severely broken my arm. I think I’ve had almost every stylist that works here and they’re all fantastic. I have not had one bad appointment. Best blowdry salon ever.

The appt availability is horrible. The concept of getting a last minute blow out is gone. Appt has to be booked weeks in advance. My last visit was for my rehearsal dinner for my wedding. I am a fairly reasonable person. It was bad from the get go. I am not trying to be unkind, but my stylist literally looked and acted like she had just rolled out of bed. Comfy would have been fine, however I was definitely put off by the lack of professionalism. The wash was ok. She didn't ask if I was ok with product, and sprayed my wet hair with hairspray. The style was absolutely awful. Uneven, some waves, some tight curls. Her techniques were questionable. After paying $75, I went home and redid it prior to my rehearsal the best I could. I have used DryBar numerous times in different locations in SoCal since it opening years ago, and my hair is quite simple to style, however, after several below-average visits, I deleted the app and will not be returning. It is a shame. The concept is amazing, however, with poor management and hiring, they will continue to lose customers.

BEWARE!!! I have given this salon MULTIPLE opportunities and each time, they get worse. Management is awful, clearly doesn’t care about client satisfaction or retention. The place was empty, I was 5 min late for an appointment and they charged me, and refused to take me. They will RUIN your special events. Look elsewhere, trust me.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I booked a dry style for a braid for a special event. I get there and the person who was to help me couldn't braid so they told me I didn't book it right and told me I had to leave. I asked how I booked it wrong and they said I should put in a note; I said I did (which I did); so THEN they told me I needed to put it as an add on- so I had the manager show me how to do that- sure enough THAT ISN'T AN OPTION. So she said- next time call us. NO APOLOGY for the fact that I did nothing wrong yet they couldn't honor my appointment. NO ALTERNATIVE option to try and accommodate me because again, I booked correctly. This was horrible customer service and I won't be calling next time because there won't be a next time. Thanks for ruining my special event and offering no apology.

Horrible customer service, and a google page filled with lies. I was on hold for ten minutes, only to get hung up on. When I called back, it rung six times before I got answered again. I then asked for an appointment done for a coloring, as listed on their google page, and they told me they only do styling and blowouts. Their entire google service page is a lie, and they don’t treat customers with respect. Don’t go here.

I don't know why this place has bad reviews. I've been going to the drybar in pittsburgh for a long time and just so happened to be in San Diego and decided to get a blow out here and it was amazing! Mariah did such a great job on my hair. The place was very clean and upbeat.

This was my first time at the Drybar. I contacted Drybar to let them know I was running 15 minutes behind. My appt was at 7:45am and I arrived at 7:59 at the door with my text to confirm check in at that time. The front desk girl took her time checking me in and at 8:01 she told me my appt has been cancelled. Turns out they didn’t even have a stylist for me!!! There was only 3 stylist and 2 stylist were on 1 client. Extremely unprofessional. I am a salon owner myself and this would never be our policy when a guest is standing outside with a confirmation text message showing that they were within the 15 minutes of checking in.
