I was really looking forward to my appointment, but ended up waiting around for 20 mins and saw another girl who came in after me get seated before me. Really terrible service and such a waster of time! Desk person was especially unhelpful and not surprised by the terrible reviews. Stay away from here!

I’ve been a loyal client at this salon in FLATIRON location for over 5 years, but my recent experiences have been deeply upsetting. The manager, in flatiron particular- Christine Stone - has made each visit uncomfortable and stressful. On several occasions, I've been made to wait for an hour past my appointment time, but if I’m even just 7 minutes late, my appointment is immediately canceled with my stylist without consideration. I’ve also asked for specific stylists multiple times, only to have my request ignored, and the stylist I specifically wanted is often assigned to another client instead. This lack of attention to clients' preferences shows a lack of respect and professionalism. Beyond the poor service, the atmosphere in the salon has become increasingly negative. The manager is rarely smiling, often seems in a bad mood, and creates an uncomfortable environment for clients. I've also felt a sense of discrimination, as it seems she has a particular disregard for non-native Americans, which makes me feel unwelcome and uneasy. This kind of treatment is unacceptable, especially after being a dedicated customer for so long. I attacked visiting this salon, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone because of the manager. I She’s very unhappy with her job and projects it on all clients. t’s truly heartbreaking that a place I once enjoyed has become a source of stress and anxiety for me.

If I could give a negative rating, I would. I asked for curtain bangs with volume, but the stylist gave me a side part instead, completely ignoring my request. There was no head massage, even though I booked it as an add-on. The communication during the service was nonexistent, and the stylist had a bad attitude—constantly rolling his eyes and acting dismissive. Hygiene was also a major issue—he used a dirty comb, dropped tools constantly, and pins were falling everywhere. The whole experience felt rushed, and at the end, I was told, ‘Ok honey, you’re done,’ without addressing my concerns, especially about the front styling. While other staff engaged with their clients, this stylist just kept singing. Shampooing was sloppy, with water splashing everywhere, and the ‘frizz-free’ add-on I opted for was a disaster—my hair has never felt this rough after a blow-dry. I’ve had far better experiences at my local salon, where I’m treated with respect, given proper advice, and offered a complimentary head massage. This salon failed in every way: rude staff, no attention to hygiene, no basic courtesy like offering water, and no place to keep personal belongings. They only smiled at the end, clearly just fishing for a tip. After just a 30-minute commute, my hair was frizzy, and there were no curtain bangs as requested. I will never return.

First and last time going to Drybar after my experience. The person attending me ignored my request for curls, and they were not careful with the blowdryer. I had to pull back multiple times and cry out in pain in order for them to pull the dryer further from my scalp. This was a waste of money and time.

I visited Drybar- Flatiron location twice during my trip to the city. They made my hair look so much better like if I just had a treatment and haircut done but it was only a blowdry. The products they use and the stylist they have are great! Love it!

Out of all the DB salons I've been to (across NYC, LA and Arizona), this was the worst. I'm not even doing this for any favours, because tbh I won't be going to DB anymore, but just want to share because... *save yourself* Timing: my friend and I had booked appointments together at 10:45 am - my friend was taken roughly on time and I was taken at 11:15 am - so we would be late to our plans after. I think DB is always running late, so I've found I just can't rely on the appointment time anymore. Wash: hair wasn't cleansed properly, it still felt dirty at the base of the neck. Styling: I asked for straight with a bit of a flip at the end and after the first strand, I provided feedback that I didn't want her curling the hair around the round brush because it was actually curling my hair. She was kind of dismissive and told me my hair would fall and I just asked her again to make sure it was straight. Safe to say I ended up with curls...

Had an appointment for a blowout at 11:15am on 9/1. They didn’t start my appointment until 40+ minutes after it was scheduled. The woman working at the front desk during this time was so rude and should not be in any job that interfaces with people. During my 40 minutes waiting, I saw multiple times that she picked up the phone, immediately put the person on hold, then walked away never to go back to the call. The blow dry itself was below average but not terrible—certainly not worth the 40 minute wait and $60 price tag however. This is my first time back at dry bar after a few years, and it’s sad to see how downhill it’s gone. Avoid and go to an independent salon!

The people there were really nice including my stylist however, my blowout because she didn't use enough product. I paid for an add-on but I knew the spray they use wouldn't be enough so I asked if she could use a smoothing cream or SOMETHING. She said the add-on spray would be enough. Nope. Wasn't. I needed the blow-out to last a few days and the whole reason why I made a blow-out appointment was because my work schedule for the week is brutal and the less time I have to spend on my hair, the better. This was a waste of money.

Absolutely a waste of money. My hair normally holds well with a salon blowout but they had me leave when I could still feel my hair was damp. Within 5 minutes, it was flat and straight. Don’t waste your time or money here. Find a local salon instead. This was my first and last Drybar experience.

Definitely would avoid this location, first time at this location and worst experience ever. No acknowledgement of running 30+ minutes behind except that I told them I did need to get out at a decent time. I wish I looked at the reviews beforehand. Front desk girl was rude too. They had taken walk ins that pushed them off schedule. And as some other reviewers noted, seems commonplace here. So paid the same amount for a 20 minute service that I could have done myself at home

I am gravely disappointed in this establishment. I had two appointments booked for my bridal shower and one stylist showed up 35 mins late with no warning so we are now late. In addition the front desk lady was so unhelpful, rude and truly disrespectful to me when I tried to come up with solutions.

I wish I could give 0 stars. The worst customer service experience I've dealt with. They used a dirty and broken, half bristle-less brush on my hair (see image), and tried to upsell me all kinds of services I didn't want or need. When I asked for the manager's email address upon checkout, I was given a fake gmail with a random name and "69" attached to the end. I sent 3 emails to the general customer service team about my experience and they didn't respond to any, and subsequently de-activated my account.

WORST SERVICE EVER! I have been a Drybar member for 3+ years and I am cancelling my subscription today. I was 8 min late to my appointment and they refused to take me although I always wait for +30min when I come. I told them it is literally one of the most important day in my life. This is literally the WORST place in New York, they do not hire polite front staff. The person was so rude I never saw this in my 30 years of life. TO AVOID AT ALL COST!!!!

I did a Dry-style. Had to wait 10mins for a hairdresser. I said ahead of time, no comb out for the southern comfort because my hair falls flat & curls don't stay. I had to request hairspray. 2 hours later, my hair doesn't look professionally done at all, and it's massively frizzy all over, but especially in the back. Disappointing for the price, it's not worth it anymore. Sadly, this is 1 of a few locations left.

My recent visit to this dry bar was deeply disappointing. This was my second visit, and unfortunately, it will be my last. During my first experience, my hair was not washed properly, which I initially thought might be a one-time issue. However, during my second visit, despite specifically requesting a thorough wash, the service fell short once again. The stylist only applied one round of shampoo despite my request for more, and the blow-dry was poorly done. I had to redo my hair when I got home. Overall, it was a frustrating and disappointing experience, and I feel it was a waste of money. I won't be returning. Avoid this place

On top of the usually sub-par service, today’s experience was beyond, and deserves noting. What an incredibly rude “bartender”. She could not explain the Drybar charges on my receipt. She was rude, obnoxious, antagonistic, fresh. She refused to tell me her name (I don’t have a name”, she wisecracked, as she spun on her heels and walked away). How far you have fallen. Drybar should be ashamed to employ people like this. I will be sure to never return.

Third time I get to my appointment on time, wait 20 mins and then have to leave because the stylist hadn’t arrived yet or is running late. Trying to use my credits so I can cancel my membership but even that seems impossible to do. This happens to many clients who leave frustrated. Not sure how this business can run like this.

Bad customer service. The front desk woman was very rude. I had a really important work event today and was hoping i could be seen. I scheduled an appointment at 8, was running late, called and was switched to 8:15. 8:20 I arrive and was hoping i could have been accommodated. The 2 years I've been going to this location i have never been told the “late policy”. There have been times when I've had to wait for a stylist for 10-15 minutes after my scheduled appointment and have never complained. Had I been told when I called to let them know i was running late that my appointment was going to be cancelled, I would have made other arrangements.
