Scammers. Showed up 5 mins late for my appointment and they canceled but didn’t call me. And then when I showed up, they charged and and wouldn’t let me in for my appointment. Ridiculous

Seriously incompetent people working here. This guy did my hair smelled like smoke and had no idea what he was doing. Hair looks horrible.

Disasters! do not go to this location. Never had such a bad blow dry in my life and had to wait for 25 mins!! They’re also extremely rude and unprofessional

It's my first time trying to book at drybar... I called the SoHo location at 2:30pm on Tues, Aug 13th (didn't catch the girl's name because she never said it)... this girl was SO RUDE. Had such an attitude, I have a gift card, I asked her if it's possible to check the balance she was rude about not being able to, then I asked if I can put the gift card as the payment method and she was snippy about answering this basic question too. Like omg not going to this location.

rude bad staff. bad management - booked a blow dry by mistake at this location wrongly because i am tourist and i cancelled 5 mins later and rebooked at another location due to being a tourist. the salon took $60 from my account. when i called to report this to the manager she gave me a fake number for corporate and refused to refund my money.

They are horrible and scammers, stay away from this location. I came to my appointment and a very mean and rude lady said that they don't have it. After I showed her the evidence of booking she kept insisting that there is no appointment. I was devastated and left. I have an important event and really needed to get my hair done. Then she called me back and said that she found my appointment but will not refund me. This is an absolute scam and a horrible customer service. Not only they lie to you, are super rude and berate you, but also steal your money!

Great job with my style (the Mai Tai) and got me in and out on time. They also accommodated me on another day when I was running late. I called and they helped adjust my appointment time.

just came in and had a lovely experience with really great and interesting man whose name I didn’t catch sadly. The appointment was all on time and easy — everyone was friendly and the hair was done really well 💛

If you have coily textured hair DO NOT come here -- they do not know how to do dense black hair!!! I was even seen by a black stylist and my scalp was burned (with the burn marks to match) in multiple places. I will be disputing the charges with my bank

I waited in line to check into my appointment and was not taken because “I was late.” Even though I was there at the time of my appointment. I have been a customer of drybar for years and have never experienced ruder staff.

I can’t even be upset anymore at this point this place is comical. I had the double barfly membership and for both of my blowouts I had a terrible experience. Thank god I’m finally canceling my membership. The first one was at the Greenwich location but it wasn’t nearly as bad as this location… Shanice and Carlos should be fired- they were on tik tok live, eating , DANCING etc while doing my hair???? Hello? The music is so loud you’d think you’re in a club and they kept putting it louder. They can’t even wash hair correctly, she left a handful of conditioner on the back of my head. And please don’t get me started on how hilarious my hair looks. Go to a real hair salon with REAL Hairstylist and save your money and sanity. lol this place is a joke 😂😂

Do not go here ever. I called to say I was running ten minutes late to my appointment. (This took several attempts because their phone was disconnected at first.) I am nine months pregnant with twins and could not walk to the appointment, which I told them. They said they have a zero tolerance policy and wouldn’t take me. I got out of my Uber and hobbled there anyway, hoping they would come to their senses when they saw me. The woman at the front desk refused to take me; another woman came out from the back and asked me why I was being “nasty”. I am utterly shocked to have been treated that way, particularly in this condition (but also I’m general—note that they had every appointment time available yesterday). I left crying, and they showed absolutely zero remorse. I hope this place gets shut down.

Great service

Had an issue with my membership and called asking to speak to a manager. Employee took my name and I never got a call back. A month later, I call again to check and they told me at this point, I need to speak to corporate. I ask for a phone number and they told me they don't have it. I am speechless.

I booked two appointments as a mommy and me pre-brunch treat. The didn’t even wash my daughter’s hair until 45 min after the appointment time and I didn’t even end up in the chair. They indicated they were a stylist down but the delay suggests more issues than a missing stylist. They suggested we try a different DryBar (we went farther out of our way for the availability at this location) or come back later (this is NYC… every minute counts). As a courtesy- they could have called and given us the choice of what to do before we committed to being there but they didn’t which is frustrating and disappointing. Now our day is backed up and delayed with the misstep of having booked at this dysfunctional location.

I have to agree it was the worst experience I’ve had a Dry Bar and won’t be returning to this location.

I just had the WORST experience. Came from out of town made an appointment at 9am I called that the Uber was taking longer and I would be a little late. I arrive at 9:14 and was welcomed by the most unprofessional and completely incompetent host. She gave my appointment away and when I asked why she didn’t tell me that when I called so I could turn around she said “I didn’t want to I just want until you get here” I truly don’t understand how any service based business would ever hire someone like this to represent their brand.

I thought yesterday when I went was alone in how I was antagonized by the front desk and one employee but it seems this is a habit from reading the posts. How is this place not shut down yet or being reviewed by the police and state? The behavior is bordering on hate crime-esque and this place needs to be investigated.

I use to go here whenever I came to NYC and never had any issues with them. They were accommodating and my hair looked great. Simple wash & blow out. I’m not sure when things got so bad here but, I called 10 min prior to my appointment time & stated i was stuck in bad traffic due to streets being shut down. I showed up at 840 am for an 830 am appointment. I was told I couldn’t have a wash but could have dry style only. 10 min late and I cant get the service I requested? I caution people before booking with them. They have poor customer service as well. I miss the old days when the dry bar staff was more accommodating and pleasant

On October 28, my appointment at Bloomingdales Soho was cancelled 2 hours before my appointment. The worker at the time said I would receive a $10 credit for the inconvenience. Also on October 28, I emailed Bloomingdales Soho expressing discontent with the $10 credit and how I would prefer to be credited the $45 of my blowout (I had a pending barfly membership credit I was trying to use) so I do not have to go to dry bar ever again ( I have had other horrible experiences, i.e., waiting over 40 minutes when I had an appointment, and then having to walk out because it was the slowest hair dresser, I had been at the store for 2 hours at one point and she had not made any progress, my hair was still entirely wet; plus my "home store" closed, and then I moved, and my new "home store" also closed). On December 8, I call Bloomgindales Soho to make sure I have the credit, since I was considering making an appointment and "purchasing" a treatment for the credit to be used. The new manager, not a manager on October 28, said there is no credit in my account, and she cannot credit me because she has no proof. I told her my email is proof of it, she says its not. She says she will talk to the person that was working October 28, the next day. On December 9 and 10, I call no one answers. December 15, I call Bloomingdales Soho, they say the worker will not be around for a while because of a family emergency. They will not credit me the $10, they were supposed to credit me. If I did not lose the $45 I already paid, I would just let go of the $10. But I have been a loyal dry bar membership since 2016 when my hairstylist in Boston went on maternity leave, I have used them in Boston, Miami, and New York since I moved in 2018. After Covid they were not able to bounce back, so many hairstylists are not skillful, the blowouts last me less than a day, the price went up but the quality significantly went down. The barfly membership no longer gave you a birthday gift, they no longer offer you champagne or even water, the charger plugs do not work, etc. Additionally, I had to call over 10 times to get my barfly membership canceled, because they kept charging me even after significant tries to cancel, and get reimbursed the blowouts they had charged me for after I had tried to cancel many times. No one wanted to take care of my case, and insisted I needed to go to my home store, but it had closed! I do not think the individuals involved are trying to act fraudulently, but by repeatedly withholding me money, that is how I am perceiving it.

The place is falling apart, music is blasting at an uncomfortable volume, and if you arrive 5 minutes late, they tell you they can’t fit you in and that this is because of the new ownership policy. So she rebooked me into another location (even though there was no one there!) and charged me $25 for a late cancelation! The manager clearly does not want your business, she just wants to charge late fees. Do NOT come here!

The worst dry bar location I have ever been in. Horrible customer service. Acted totally put out if you wanted to pay or needed anything. All the stylists sat around on their phones. It was way too hot inside and the TV was so loud you couldn’t hear. Basically no one felt like working at this location….

They call me to arrive earlier and then they said they were overbooked and I couldn’t do my blow dry. When I arrived there was no one working and they wouldn’t accommodate me. This location always has problems with scheduling and not the best attitude. This hasn’t happened to me in Tribeca, BK or Upper East Side location.

Went in person to this location, the upper east side location and the 56 street location asking for a manager to call me back with a very simple but specific request regarding my bosses membership. It's 10/23 and still no call back from a Mgr. I left a note in each location with my name, phone number and request since no one in the store had any information or could provide an answer. The woman who took my info at this location was 100x more polite than the women workers at the other two, but still ZERO customer service as a Manager still won't call me back. Wondering if they provide any training beyond blow dries for their employees or if they just dont care about the customer experience. This place won't be around in a few years I can guarantee it.
