I got my locs started as small traditional starters at Duafe. I did a LOT of research prior to deciding to visit the shop for a consultation. I called for consultation first and decided to schedule my appointment for about a month out. Jasmine did my starter locs and I've been working with her for 3 months now. I was nervous at first since I had my consultation with someone else, but there was no need, Jasmine is great, and I love our appointments! The parting for my locs is beautiful and adds fullness to my hair. Jasmine is so sweet and highly skilled. I appreciate how professional she is and how she always shares tips with me for maintenance and how to best care for my hair. I look forward to how peaceful and relaxing my appointments are with Jasminet, it's exactly what I envisioned for my hair journey. Thank you!

I generally would recommend Duafe to anyone for natural hair care needs as I’ve been a seasoned customer for over 10 years however, today I’ve witnessed a decline in professionalism at Duafe. As I attempted to make an appointment I was reprimanded by the front desk woman due to a past cancellations (life happens). She was inappropriate with me as I attempted to make an appointment due to a past cancellation. As I’ve mentioned, I’m a 10+ customer!! I’ve recommended Duafe to several people throughout the years. This is very inappropriate and unprofessional. I loved this place but I will not be coming again. Please be more understanding, professional and mindful to your customers.

Extremely rude owner, madea, I'm gonna call her. No consideration for personal time and she couldn't even do my sew in, and waited a long time for someone else to do them which was a shitty job. Not recommended!

I had a fantastic appointment with Terrence on 09/17! He was incredibly attentive and made sure to address all my concerns with care. I’m thrilled with my retwist and two-strand twist—it came out exactly how I envisioned it. I’m already looking forward to my next visit. He is capable and skilled and knows the importance of great customer service. It was refreshing to see someone so young dedicated and business-minded.

Great stylist. But when it came to owner herself. Very not informative. Had the worse experience ever and now I'm dealing with trying to reconnect locs she cut off years ago without informing me of the additional kocs being cut off

I established and maintain both sets of locs I've had from Duafe. I currently have microlocs. Very personable, professional and knowledgeable. Staff are chill and hilarious. They keep music on but low, space is beautifully decorated, clean and vibe is awesome. The stylist are honest and will tell you what your hair needs. They enjoy seeing your progress as much as you and celebrate your hair. I'd never go anywhere else. First pic is day of refresh, next 2 pictures are the day before a 8 week refresh and still look good. They allow me to maintain my look via palmroll since my hair is thick and can take it. I love that they take your hair into account instead of telling you "you have to interlock bc it micro" that I've heard so many other salons say. Love Duafe!!! Love my stylist Jasimin M.

I went to duafe a few times and while my hair was never awesome the service was always convenient and friendly… the last time I went I noticed a few locs had not been interlocked. I called and was told to come in and I could have them done… when I got there the stylist argued with me that she wouldn’t just skip locs …. I just left it wasn’t worth it to me …. I usually have good experience here but unfortunately this left a bad taste in my mouth and I will not return.

Heard great reviews from someone who started her loc journey there. I scheduled a loc consultation three months in advance, but was seen by the RECEPTIONIST for the brief, 20-minute consultation about my log journey. Plus, I waited 20 minutes after the scheduled time even though I arrived early. Very disappointing experience.

I feel like my hair isn't terrible. The loctician definitely retwisted it well and the parts look good. I just feel like I chose this place specifically for the hair care aspect and I did not see that. This was my first professional retwist. I started my locs myself, so I expected them to advise me and help me with my loc to part ratio and fix the locs that were thinning by maybe combining or repairing them or help me with lint removal etc. It just seemed like she wanted to hurry up and get me out the chair and whatever condition my hair was in (which is not the best) was not her concern. And my hair feels dryer than it did when I got there. Aside from that everyone was kind and friendly. I am disappointed though because I spent a lot of money and I will be seeking a different loctician for the future.

I really enjoy this place. It has a great vibe, all of the professionals offer excellent services, and the products work really well in my hair. Admittedly I can go too long without a trim but no one ever makes me feel a way about it. And I always leave looking good and feeling confident.

Absolutely wonderful service! The experience and knowledge of the stylists, the positive atmosphere in the salon, and the level of detail that went into my hair care was simply incredible! This was my first time as a client, and Ms.Kat made me feel right at home! I love love love my hair!!!!

Great place to come if you need restoration or general loc care. They actually care about your locs and the health of your hair not just your money. They don't just rush to get as many heads in as possible, they actually do what needs to be done. Like parting your hair, thoroughly washing it etc etc. Feels good to be a real client not just another number.

My daughter just got medium knotless braids at Duafe Salon in Philadelphia. And I have to tell you, from the initial consult to the final result, Duafe did not disappoint. She is absolutely over the moon! My daughter is biracial, and I made the big mistake of taking her to a salon 2 years ago that specialized in a type that was not necessarily her hair type. Needless to say, I was very disappointed having spent alot of money for unsatisfactory results. During our consultation at Duafe, the wonderful stylist, Heaven, took the time to talk to my daughter to really get an understanding of what she wanted and how she wanted to look. She even made a point of creating the colors my daughter wanted "from scratch" because it was unavailable for sale. She is amazing. We had a bit of a late start, and the braiding went late into the evening, but Heaven didn't complain, make a fuss, or rush the job. The same care she puts into her clients that are in her chair for an hour is the same care she puts into the much longer and detailed styles. Starting at the receptionist's desk, LaRaine & Jenelle are the epitome of professionalism, kindness, and friendliness, and they're always so "cool & calm." The afrocentric decor is abundant; there's a lot to see. Kat is my stylist, and she is "all that!" I have never been disappointed when my visit is over and Kat has worked her wonders. Duafe is a great salon. The other stylists are just so nice, friendly, and great at what they do. Give Duafe a try, you won't be regret it.
