Beautiful and clean salon very polite and they smile often but the one that most stands out is the lady by the name of Olga…I have been coming to this salon for years even when they were before in madison ave…and i got to say Olga is outstanding very nice polite and always understands what people want she listen and very professional..I definitely recommend her services and for my eyebrows definitely maggie..amazing place very please will continue to go

Olga Martinez has been ny stylist for many years. She’s amazing, provided great service every time. She’s very organized, kind, helpful and anyone would be lucky to get her hair done with her. ❤️🙏🏽 Best stylist in that salon.

They charged me $50 for a cut even though their website said it’d be $30. They said it was because I opted for a ‘scissor cut’ even though they never informed me it would cost extra (nor does it say so on the website). The cut itself was perfectly fine but I left there feeling pretty cheated.

This salon charges black women extra for having natural hair which makes no sense. This is discrimination and should be stopped. I'll be sure to file whatever additional complaint I need to because this is disheartening and disrespectful. I've had to deal with this in my own community because of this salon.

Beautiful and clean Salon. The hairdressers are very professional and pleasant. I went the day after taking out my braids and needed a trim, rinse and deep conditioner. The outcome was magnificent. Voluminous and beautiful. I will be returning. I think I found my new salon.

This place very nice, clean, professional, not time is waisted i was impressed how fast me and my daughters were taken care off. The staff is very polite the atmosphere is very welcoming you are greeted immediately when you walk in which is nice because some salons it is so uncomfortable when you walk in as a new client. Definitely will be returning 10/10

Excellent Service from hair dressers to eyebrows technician. Belkis is my favorite hairdresser; but all of them r great!!! But I need to mention that Mari gives the best hair massages!!! I wish Mari also gave body massages; I'll be here every week!!!👍🏽😊

I love getting my nails done here. Flor is magnificent. But there are no frills. The hair salon is just ok and the stylists charge you based on the “coarseness” of your hair texture which is utterly insane.

My beautician just relocated to this salon. It is beautiful, clean, vibrant, and spacious. A lot of good energy. Also has a nail technician. Near many different bus routes, quiet street.

This place is racist and they lack knowledge in what they do. Flora the nail tech is rude and does not show compassion for her clients when the service is unsatisfactory. You don't need a sign outside that says Black's aren't allowed to be racist, but talking amongst your staff in another language about your client is clearly racist and uncouth. This place needs to be shut down for good. The hair stylist and nail techs are mediocre (and that goes for people coming in from all nationalities) save your money and time, because they will waste it.

Elegant ambiance, welcoming staff, accommodating environment. Prices are form fitting to the service received. The salon provides an experience where you can nurture your hair, style your nails, shape your eyebrows, wax your body, and brighten up your smile. I am a 20+ client and now my 7 and 8 year old age children enjoy coming to get their weekly care. Love this Salon!

Great experience! Went in to get teeth whitening service, the results were instant! I went multiple shades whiter and could not be happier. The process was also simple and most importantly, PAINLESS!!

I read the reviews and am perplexed about the comments that the staff is racist and that black people should not come there. In the many years I've gone to Eddie Jr's. I've never known them to be racist. Many African American women are loyal customers and very happy. To my knowledge, none of the employees are white. They have always been respectful and provide good service.Yes, a little pricey but they provide a lot of services, have a place where you can have everything done in one location, and it's clean.

I was long overdue for this review. My last experience here was so bitter that I left without even having my hair finished. The low star is mainly for the owner Eddie (the son of the original owner). At first he seems respectful but it is all superficial just as the service and hospitality you receive here. He is rude, incompetent about hair care and tries to be condescending if you let him. And in top of that he/they try to overcharge you for everything including products that don’t work -it’s really not worth it even after you pay what they ask because they don’t know what they are doing. They have the same brushes and combs and use it in a multipurpose way for any hair type. Meaning, they treat every hair the same way and this is mistake number 1. After a back and forth and me explaining how they should treat my hair properly without pulling it and without breaking it and putting me in so much pain I realized I was just wasting my time and patience. I was so frustrated and even tried to slowly explain how to work my hair but they instead got mad and shame me for not having super straight or relaxed hair. I had to stand my ground and leave that place. Right before leaving, I also saw a roach on the floor by the hairdryer. I’m so mad now that I kept giving them a chance. It took me some time to care about my hair and after dealing and learning from real hairstylist like the ladies at Miss Rizos in Washington Heights. The moment I learned what was going on, and that every hair type should not be treated the same way, I knew that there are just people out there that doesn’t know what the hell they are doing. If you let incompetent hairstylist deal with your hair, years later you will end up bald and with breakage everywhere. If you understand what’s happening, and treat your hair well, your hair will grow and glow even without having to break the bank or having your hair pulled. Going to the salon should never be a negative experience, it should be as if you are going to the spa but for hair care -feeling blissful. If you don’t get that spa experience then seek elsewhere. Thankfully there’s plenty of hairstylist in New York City.

This salon is RACIST! Avoid at all costs if you are a woman with kinky curly hair (whether you identify as a POC or are a woman who has that texture hair). Went to this salon weekly for 8-9 years (when Heather, a different family member was manager). It was superb back then and great value for money. Eddie directly ignored what I asked for, and my regular stylist said Eddie had told her to use another product. I could smell the difference and stood up for myself and my wallet. Even though I saw the same stylists, they were all following Eddie’s discriminatory business practices. Shame on you Eddie. DR is a diverse country with diverse hair types. Clearly to you, las vidas negras no importan. Also, you don’t pass for wh—— btw. If you read this review and care, boycott this business!! Plenty of other Dominican salons in nyc.

Eddie jr CERTAINLY did not learn from his father..he is impolite and very serious and unwelcoming as you enter his store, even though he knows you..he refuses to take Debit cards but wants cash and there is a ATM machine in his store that he wants you to use and claims it's his. Was given one price over the phone and another price at his store... The staff is all Spanish who appear to be talking about the customers...He also overpriced my daughter who had a wash and set and color..again told one price over the phone and another when we got there..suddenly as we were leaving and he is collecting money he appeared to recognize us.. BRING BACK SHAMPOO AND EDDIE SENIOR!!!

Go to spot for wash and set and eyebrow threading. Been going here forever. Great staff and owner. Always clean. they even used to serve wine on the wknds; really nice decor and atmosphere. They do nails too!

I was a regular customer here and always got a wash and set every time I came! My hair was a few inches under my shoulders so I would consider it to be long. I used to pay around $40/$45 for my wash and set and I would bring my own conditioner. The thing is I had my aunt cut my hair so it’s around my neck now. (Short hair) I went to get a wash and set on Sunday, same thing I bought my own conditioner but this time my hair is shorter. When it comes time to pay the lady charges me $50!! I’m like why $50? She says they charge “extra” for “Natural hair” and $10 to use the drier for my conditioner! They never said I had to pay $10 to use their drier for a conditioner treatment that I bought with me! Mind you, I was in the drier for ten min so I basically got charged $1/min. Also, I’ve always had natural hair and never had to pay extra for having natural hair. I paid the $40/$45 before because I was told my hair was longer but now that it’s shorter I get charged more because it’s natural??? Make it make sense!! Your prices shouldn’t change because of someone’s hair texture! It’s always been about length when it comes to wash and sets. I’ve never heard of a wash and set being priced by someone’s hair texture! NEVER in my 40 yrs of life!

If you are a black woman DO NOT COME HERE, the employees were extremely racist to me talking about my skin complexion and hair texture in spanish as if i couldn’t understand them. Then the lady that blow dried my hair charged me extra after she already told me a set price which was originally $25. Will not be coming back here.

Very very clean, employees are friendly and the salon is open early to accommodate working people, my stylist was Tita a very nice lady. Update: I've been going to Eddie Jr's Hair Salon regularly for a few months now and it's a nice, clean & friendly place, Tita is my hairstylist and she is good! Maggie does my eyebrows and they're perfect?
