I came in for a haircut and didn’t get what I asked for. On top of that, I was treated poorly, with staff recording me and making me feel uncomfortable. It was an unprofessional experience I wouldn’t recommend. I left a 20% tip regardless.

Sandra was super knowledgeable about hair! I love learning new things about my hair and how to take better care of it, what’s most flattering for me, how it reacts to different styles/weather, etc. She did exactly what I asked and was patient to make sure I was comfortable with what I got. And really appreciative of the 20% student discount!

Amazing service. Emina handled my hair. I went in for the first time to remove blue and green faded color and Emina completely transformed my hair for the better!!!!

Great experience with hair coloring/cut/blow out at Effy’s. I noticed my friend Maria’s hair looked gorgeous. She told me about Effy’s and I scheduled an appointment. So glad I did! Convenient upper west side location too

This was an awesome studio, my hair stylist Emina did an amazing job and absolutely took the best care of my hair. The owner was also very kind and they give a fantastic student discount! Highly recommend this studio!

Loved it! Went to this saloon, the owner was very sweet. He cut my bangs very well (and I’m very picky about my fringe). Will definitely come back :)

Effy is the best! My hairstylist moved to California. She was magic, so finding Effy was a dream. Talented and lovely!!!! It's like watching Edward Scissorhands in real life. HIGHLY recommend!!!!

Had my first haircut here today with Sandra and she did a great job! She was very knowledgeable and had great suggestions for my cut. I’m newer to the area and it is difficult to find a good place for a haircut, but this put me at ease. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the space was clean and well organized. I highly recommend this salon!

I didn t want to write a bad review bc they were really nice to me in the shop, bit i am waiting for their response since a week. I am dying my hair blonde since 5 years, and never had an accident like this. The tint felt very cold when they put it on, but everything seemed fine when I left. After the stylized blowdry left my hair I saw that there were several parts of my hair, escpecially the roots where the color was missing, there is lika a hard line on both sidr, and also it got very itchy in the next days. I wrote them to ask about the products they use so I could research it, but no one wrote me back, eventhough my hair got on their insta feed immediately. It s not worth 300 $ like this, now I have to recolor the roots somewhere else.

My experience at Effy was nothing short of amazing! I am new to the area and wasn’t sure what my hair goals were next so I called them on a whim after reading reviews and checking out their instagram. They were super nice and let me pop in for a consultation. At my actual appointment, my stylist Emina worked some serious magic with my previously super yellow blonde hair and I am so in love with the results!! I have a shorter cut and it has so much dimension and moves so nicely I almost can’t believe it’s my hair haha. Everyone at Effy was so nice and we had a lot of fun chats while Emina worked. Definitely coming back 💕

Strange haircut experience. The appointment felt rushed. The hair wash was quick and uncomfortable. My hair dresser assessed my hair and listened to my goals, and the haircut I got was good. After my haircut, however, they left my hair totally wet, offering only that I sit under the heat dome intended for hair dying for a few minutes. I hadn’t asked for a blowout, but I’ve never had a salon let me leave with soaking wet hair before, especially in winter. It also meant I wasn’t able to see how the haircut looked on me until after I had left and paid. The whole appointment was about 25 minutes and cost $80.

The best salon in the city!! Staff is super welcoming, and the vibes are always good. Fair prices for great work, too! Emina always makes my hair look and feel great--I literally feel like a princess walking out! Plus, she always keeps a stash of lollipops at her station, for something extra sweet!

This salon was straight out of a dream. I was visiting NYC looking for a highlight and blend. Effy was so attentive and knowledgeable I felt like a princess after her makeover in the princess diaries! Amazing staff, amazing hair, and I will be traveling back to get my hair done from now on

my haircut with Effy was amazing! i was passing by and decided to just to walk in. it was not planned and spontaneous. i never had time lately to make an appointment in advance, but desperately needed a haircut. i was amazed by customer service and approach at the front desk. also i was so lucky Effy kindly squeezed me in. i couldn’t be more happier with results!! thank you for the beautiful job and most positive energy you giving your clients Effy

Loved my experience at Effys. Had the pleasure of getting my hair done with Jie and she delivered! She was attentive in listening to what I wanted for my hair.
