Emily was AMAZING!! As soon as we arrived she was an absolute gem! Not only is she incredibly talented with hair, but she also went above and beyond to create a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere for me and my daughter. From the moment we walked in, we felt at ease. She offered us a selection of snacks and beverages. She even went as far as asking my daughter what music artist she liked, then proceeded to put on music for her. Which was such a thoughtful touch. It made the whole experience feel more like a treat than just another appointment. She is also super informative about the products she uses. I highly recommend this stylist to anyone looking for both amazing hair care and a genuinely pleasant salon visit. Thank you so much, Emily! I have never seen my daughter smile so much in a salon chair. We both look forward to you being our permanent hair stylist ❤️

Emily was extremely pleasant to work with. She allowed me the time to express exactly what I wanted without rushing me to explain. She even made a cup of tea for me. Her aura is beautiful and she’s so thoughtful and considerate. I felt very comfortable in her studio. I trusted her to take my super long, and thick hair and transform it and I don’t regret it at all. She even cut a portion of my hair and put it in a ponytail so I can donate it. Thank you so much! I will absolutely be in again! ❤️

If I could give more than 5 stars I would!! Emily is so talented and really gave me my confidence back! I had a vision in my head and she gave me exactly what I had imagined, my dream haircut! It was a very big leap going from my long hair to very short but I put all my trust in her and I am so happy I did!! She is also very sweet and out going, and her studio is very welcoming!

Emily is the best. I’ve always wanted to go copper but I never had the courage to. She put me at ease and made me feel so comfortable and happy with my results. If I could give her more than 5 stars, I would. She made sure I was completely comfortable and happy with my results. Not to mention, she’s also so sweet and easy to talk to. She makes sure you have everything you need to make your experience feel luxurious.

I have no words. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. I came to her wanting to start my red head journey and she’s been amazing at getting me to where I want to be. She made my redhead dreams come true. She also made sure that when my natural color comes in, I don’t look crazy. Oh, did I mention she’s also so affordable? She made sure I was comfortable the whole time and made sure I loved the results. 10/10!!

So I haven’t gotten my hair done in about 2 years! And when I tell you I love it, I LOVEEEEE IT so so much!! Emily really made visions come into reality!! If you’re in the Hampton Roads, VA area I definitely say go to my girl Emily🩷 she’s so accommodating, does small add ons to enhance your experience! She has such a great personality and it felt like I knew her for my whole life! Also to mention she explains everything she does so that you’re in the know! I’ll definitely be going back in a couple months!!

Emily is the kindest person I have had a pleasure of working with. She has always listened to what I wanted and talked me through each step of the process. And most importantly, she understands that things might not always end up how you wanted them to and she is very accommodating and understanding of your concerns, she will do all she can to make it right! Not to mention I have been felt so comfortable with a hairstylist before. She is there to get to know you so she can assist you better. Make that appointment you will not regret it!

I took my daughter to Emily to have her hair done before school began. Emily did an amazing job on my daughter’s hair and she was so patient. She even added a complimentary fair tinsel in my daughter’s hair for her birthday. Would recommend Emily to anyone who wants the ultimate hair experience!

Emily was very helpful throughout the booking process and made me feel very welcome when I arrived. She let me select the music and offered me refreshments while she worked. She listened to all of my requests and hair concerns and I left with exactly what I had envisioned. I will be booking again.

So many reasons to give 5 stars! 1. Emily is so deliberate about creating a calm and caring space - I feel so relaxed during and after. 2. She’s an amazing stylist! I’m really happy with my cut and not just the first time around. 3. She does keratin treatments. I have gray hair and it’s so frizzy - Emily works her magic and I’m silky smooth again for a few months.

This was my first time getting my hair professionally colored.. like ever. Virgin hair. And I’m here to say you simply CANNOT go wrong booking your next appointment with her. She made me feel at home, comfortable, relaxed and after our impromptu therapy session she straight up DELIVERED! She took my inspo pics to a whole other level while bringing out my natural colors. Emily is so kind & bubbly! As a new client you never know what to expect however, Emily made the experience so comfortable & fun! She catered to my music taste & offered beverages & snacks. I felt very at home in her studio! She gave me exactly what I asked for hair wise & verbally explained what she was doing & the products she was using before using them. I cannot recommend Emily enough. I feel like myself again with the miracle she worked on my hair. She makes her salon space so comfortable and focuses on self-care which creates a calm, comfortable, and relaxing experience with her work. My hair has never felt or looked better and I have been getting my hair highlighted since middle school!

I had my first appointment with Emily yesterday. Before my appointment, I spoke with Emily several times about hair history and what I wanted out of my color and cut. She was so nice and knowledgeable. When I got to the appointment, my favorite music was playing, her suite was welcoming, and i knew I was in good hands. My hair came out exactly how I imagined. I opted for a scalp scrub that was life changing and everything felt centered around my comfort and enjoyment. She was so easy to talk to and it felt like I was hanging out with a friend. She will be my forever stylist and I will never stop raving about her and her work. If you’re considering booking with her, DO IT. She’s the best.

I found Elegance by Emily while researching salons that offer a 1:1 experience. Initially I saw Emily for a balayage, which turned out absolutely gorgeous. We did a consult for tape in extensions which I just had installed. I could not be more pleased. 10/10 recommend this talented, caring professional! Super happy with my hair!!!!

I’ve only ever had my hair done professionally once in my life and that was years ago so when looking for a stylist I came across Emily’s page and fell in love with her work so after chatting I booked with her, she was so understanding with what I wanted and definitely achieved that blended/balayage look I was going for! Trusting a hair stylist has been hard for me, especially with hair coloring. Since turning 50 I wanted the rest of my hair blended into new my lovely grey. I was so fortunate to find Emily. Her initial form to fill out leaves no question in communicating exactly what I wanted and her delivery was perfect. As a person she was warm and attentive. After my appointment she sent me an email with every product that would protect the color and condition of my hair. I've never met a stylist like her. I'm grateful I do not ever need to look for a competent person to make me love my hair. 10 out of 10 stars for Elegance by Emily.

Went to see Emily today for a haircut and had an amazing first time appointment with her! She is professional, friendly, and just an overall great person at what she does. I’m very quiet and especially with new people, but it felt so easy talking with her. I also love the 1 on 1 private suite vs a big salon with multiple chairs/lots of people around. Can’t recommend Emily enough. I am in love with my hair and very happy with the whole experience!!!

Y'all........... I feel like I'm in a hair commercial!!! I haven't had my hair done in over a year (cut/colored/etc) and I decided to take a leap of faith and trust Emily and I am SO THRILLED that I did! I had a previous bad experience and was looking for a new stylist and I found the right one. She spent almost an hour with me JUST talking about exactly what I wanted (and obviously a lot of other deep side conversation was involved). I feel like this meaningful communication and understanding makes a huge difference when you put this kind of trust in someone with your hair. If you're looking for a hair dresser I found you one and it's totally worth the 40 minute drive. She explained everything that was going on as she was doing it and even answered all of my crazy questions. I've never had such a personal one on one experience like this, I honestly feel like I made a friend. She made me feel welcome before I even walked in the door. Such a cute, personable, honest, down to earth lady! Whenever I get my hair done again I will only come back to emily. I wish I could give her more than 5 stars tbh Thank you for making me feel special Emily

A million out of 10. Emily was recommended by a good friend of mine. I saw her after having bad luck with another stylist and Emily not only saved my hair, but gave me exactly what I wanted and so much more. She is such a genuine person! She took her time, explained everything she was doing, and was so accommodating the entire appointment. Her prices are more than fair for her skill level. You won’t find better for the price. She was extremely thoughtful and kind as well.

I loved my experience with Emily! I was lost without a hairdresser, wanting to transition from brassy brown to my natural gray. My old stylist would not work with me and had zero suggestions other than “just grow it out”. I reached out to Emily and she saved me from my brassy brown hair with four months of grown out gray. She has great hair color vision and expertise. She transformed my hair in one (long) appointment. It is now blondish, ashy light brown, mushroom gray with a plan to achieve my natural gray hair. I actually look younger. My hair immediately looks more natural. I love it!! The whole experience was wonderful. She is super sweet, talks you through every step so you know exactly what she’s doing, and offers all the spa comforts. My first time and I have already booked and can’t wait for my next appointment. Highly recommend!

Emily did my hair for my 10/1 wedding! Her communication was prompt and she was very professional. I went to her salon for the wedding trail and she goes above and beyond to make you comfortable. She came to my house to style my hair and my MIL. She was incredibly flexible when my MOH backed out due to covid AND when a bridesmaid asked her hair to be styled at the last minute. It was important to me that myself and the bridal party embraced their natural curly hair and Emily ensured that everything would hold. She also does great coloring!

I recently got married 10/08/22 and I hired Emily to do my wedding day hair for myself, and a few other girls in my wedding party! I was very nervous in choosing my glam squad as I wanted everything to be perfect. Emily excessed my expectations! Her personality is so welcoming and her talent is unmatched. I was able to discuss with her my overall version and at my bridal trail she gave me just that. I also respect her professional option, even though the hairstyle she preform during my trial was exactly what I wanted and more. She gave me a professional advice on ways to escalate the style by suggesting hair pins instead of a headband, how to properly prepare my hair for my wedding and different way we could make the style more versatile. Overall, on wedding day she took my small changes that I wanted for the style and created something so beautiful! I never felt as if she was not listening or uncomfortable in any way! I’m so blessed to have found someone so talented and welling to go above and beyond to make my wedding so special. She really amazing and if I were to get married again ( which I have no plan too) I would always choose Emily! Thank you again Emily!

I traveled from the Outer Banks to get my hair done with Emily a little over a week ago and I am so happy I did🤩 Emily was extremely professional, kind, and easy to talk to. She paid close attention to the details of my wants and needs, while also giving me her professional opinions. No exaggeration…my hair hasn’t looked this great in a long while!!!! Her salon is soooo cute, the music was great, and she had snacks and drinks which was such a nice touch!! My experience with Emily was absolutely amazing! I was pretty nervous about changing my hair so drastically but she made me feel so comfortable, listened to my concerns and helped me feel confident in my new hair! She gives SO much helpful information on your hair and how to care for it. Emily is so easy to talk to and made my morning so relaxing.
