I get absolutely fabulous colors and haircuts from Nancy Amanns who is one of numerous stylists in this facility. She doesn't cut hair. She designs and creates it. All at a very affordable cost and with client preferences at the forefront. 5 stars all the way for her! With all that said, Nancy is the only reason I would come to this particular location and the only reason I stay. It just feels awkward. There is no entrance signage off the highway to indicate it is back there, so be careful not to pass it. It's located in a converted warehouse type building where partial walls that don't reach the ceiling create individual, windowless, small, cubicle-like studios for each stylist. While I cannot say I have seen every available space, this is my generalization ONLY of what I have seen. I will say that internal glass curtained windows looking out into hallways does help to minimize the claustrophobic affect and a person can remain reasonably comfortable in otherwise cramped spaces. Because of the partial walls it is impossible not to hear other people's conversations in other rooms or, as in my case, a child who blood-curdling screamed throughout his whole haircut, which put out of sorts an older sibling who wasn't too happy either. It is not realistic to ask a stylist to control other people's kids if they get rambunctious or to sooth a crying child if unhappy. I've certainly experienced that with my kids "in the day" and the noise didn't rattle me, but clients coming for a relaxing session may not appreciate it so should be made aware of that potential. Walk-ins will see a wall of stylists picture's and profiles as they enter (there is no main desk), but very few have times or days of availability listed. I suspect you just go door to door knocking and see whose around to help you. A sign indicating how a walk-in might receive services that day or a sign saying that walk-ins should contact online for scheduling would be helpful. Overall, it's a satisfactory experience, just not a great one, but a large bit of the public would likely prefer that to pricey formal salons anyway. Iou
