Julia is great! I've never not been super happy about her haircuts. She's incredibly good and mindful, she also has a wildly good memory. I highly recommend her if you're looking for a great stylist.

Julia is the best!! I’ve been coming to her for a few years now and love the results. She’s always down to try my hair color requests and cuts and colors my hair beautifully. The highlights are very precise and I always feel prettier after an appointment. She’s also taught me a lot on how to care for my hair and elevate it with styling tips and treatments. Another bonus - Julia is an amazing person and really creates the warmest safe space in her studio. Highly recommend!

I only trust Julia with my hair! I now drive 30-40 minutes out of my way just to get color from her. She’s incredible at what she does and won’t sugar coat something if logically it won’t work for your hair and she’ll offer alternatives if need be (so she’s not leading you astray just to make a buck from you— she genuinely cares about you as a client and as a person.) I’ve done everything from a natural red to wild mermaid colors and haven’t regretted a single look. With proper treatment, color can last months. I usually go six months between appointments. Definitely should be your go to if you want a vibrant look or for any of your other hair needs :)

What I love about Julie is her confidence in cutting. Her haircuts are always to the point. Julie and her salon are friendly and well styled. You will feel comfortable and relaxed. She is also dog friendly. My frenchie and I love Emerald City Hair Studio.

I have gone to Julia for my hair care since before she was at Emerald City. I have always been so happy with what she has done for me, from hidden rainbows, to blue faux hawk, to balayage, to asymmetrical cut. It has been a long beautiful journey with Julia and I highly recommend her for all of your hair needs!

Julia has been cutting my hair for years now, I actually followed her from a previous salon when she opened her own business. She is incredibly skilled when it comes to coloring but also was super supportive when I decided to stop coloring my hair and let the natural "sparkle" come through. While I am happy that I no longer have to go in every 3 weeks as I did when coloring my hair, I always enjoy my visits. Julia is personable while maintaining a professional and efficient demeanor. Her prices are appropriate given her level of training and talent! I highly recommend Julia to anyone looking for a good hair cut and style - she's even agreed to do my wedding hair in spite of not officially being in that industry any more.

Julia is the best. She's always up for whatever I feel like. I've been going to her since 2016. Through long hair, short hair, under shaves, various colors. She also was my stylist at my wedding, for me and all my bridesmaids. Wonderful stylist, with a great attitude. I have trichotillomania (hair pulling which creates bald spots) and she works around it and has never shamed or embarrassed me regarding it. Update: Julia added some blonde highlights and gorgeous raspberry highlights to my hair. I look both stylish, while still looking professional. I love my new cut and color! Previous Review: Julia has done my hair for years. She is amazing. She will listen to you and make you feel beautiful. She also keeps the salon incredibly clean. She is a total professional and listens to your needs.

I've been going to Julia once a month for about 6 years. Each time has been a top notch experience and cut! Her expertise kept me looking good. Anytime I wanted to make a style change, she always helped to tweak my ideas so they worked with my face shape and hair type. Highly recommend!

Julia is fab as a human and stylist. She knows how to work with curls and really listens to what I want. She is also excellent at walking me through when I want to make a big change. I never feel pressured but I always get really good information to help me make my hair related decisions.

My wife and daughter had been clients here over the past year. Haircuts and coloring were competent, hence the 3 stars. On my wife's last visit (March 17, 2022), the stylist was not masked, and refused to mask when my wife (immunocompromised) requested. She then said "you may as well stay, because I'm going to charge you either way", which is an interesting way of retaining clients. I get that the mask requirement is lifted, but if you're going to make an inflexible change, you should notify your clients so they can make an informed decision and cancel in time if they choose.

Got a hair cut here. It looks great. I have been looking to find a salon closer to home and this is perfect. Julia is so great. I am in the last week of my pregnancy and thanks to the hair cut I feel prettier, some relief before the madness begins :)

I’m a low-effort hair kind of person who is not great about giving guidance for the hair stylist. Kristina took this in stride and gave me a great haircut that was just what I was looking for (even if I didn’t explain it well). One of the quickest haircuts I have had as well. Fair price and friendly people!

Julia and Kristina were a fabulous duo on my wedding day! After seeing Julia for a regular haircut appointment (which are also great!), I inquired about if the studio offered hair and makeup services for weddings. Both her and her business partner Kristina are such sweet individuals, I figured that they might bring the perfect attitude and energy for such a stressful day! After receiving the price list, I found their offerings very competitive! We scheduled a HMU trial at the studio for about a month out from my wedding day. The trial went great and, after sporting my up-do and fake lashes all day and following up, we knew what adjustments would need to be made on the day-of. They both arrived at my hotel on the morning of my wedding ready to get to business. They were able to accommodate a tight schedule on my wedding day doing hair and makeup for myself, my mother and my bridesmaids! I am so pleased with the work they did and loved working with both of them. It’s great to be able to continue to see Julia for my hair appointments too! Please consider checking out their adorable studio in Greenwood for a regular hair appointment or special event hair and makeup services! You will not be disappointed!

Julia has been cutting my hair for almost five years now and I would be lost without her. I am not a "hair" person - I don't know how to style my hair, I'm challenged at using a hair dryer, and most days my hair has a mind of its own. Julia takes care of all of this for me! She always makes sure that I'm comfortable with the style and that I won't be lost when I'm doing it on my own. She talks me through my options when I'm tempted to just shave it all off. And she makes me feel beautiful even on the days when I feel anything but. I frequently get comments on my haircuts and Julia is the only one who can receive credit for that. The prices are competitive and I find that most of what I'm paying for is the peace of mind that my hair stylist actually wants me to love my hair and that's exactly what she does.
