I visited Emmi D SalonSpa for the first time a couple weeks ago, I got the $99 curly cut and I can honestly say I would’ve gladly paid more for it. I came in not knowing much about how to care for my curls. My stylist, Courtney, asked about my current hair care routine was and was not judgmental. She was kind and thoroughly explained each step she did so I could recreate it at home for myself. Before my hair was even completely dry I could tell a difference. We were both surprised how much curl my hair had at the end. I actually got a little emotional seeing the finished product because it so surpassed my expectations. Thank you for showing me what my curls can do! 😊

I came to the salon with the formula my previous stylist used for 18 years along with the technique. The stylist at Emmi D recommended a new technique and I allowed them to try it. Big mistake. They ruined my hair and now I’m having to fly to Florida to have my hair fixed by my previous stylist. They still charged me at the end and my hair looks no where near what I asked for and I have to spend more money to make it like it was before. I am upset considering I provided the exact formula and technique that has been used on my hair for years but they thought they knew better. My hair is warm at the scalp and ashy on the middle to ends. It is a mess and I am very unhappy.

Bari, and Maryann take care of my hair and they are nothing short of exceptional. I also want to say how amazing Rochelle at the front desk is! I am tough to schedule and she is so patient, kind, and warm on the phone or in person when speaking with me. As the first interaction with the salon, she is as much of a pro as any of the stylists there. I have been going to this salon for a very long time, and I just don't see ever making a change. My curls can't be trusted anywhere else! Thank you to everyone there!

I signed up for a $99 curly cut that turned to being $120 and was extremely disappointed with the results. After the service my hair was extremely dry, puffy, and a lot shorter than I wanted. I am African American with 3C/4A curls. Don’t recommend this salon if you are AA.

I have very curly hair and hate going new places to get it cut. Lacey did not disappoint, she did an amazing job on my hair, the cut and color are absolutely perfect. Id never had a dry cut before and she made the process so easy and comfortable. Lacey did an amazing job on the color, I don’t like having to maintain highlights but love how they make my curls pop. The balayage she did is seamless, my curls pop and I don’t have to stress about the maintenance of full highlights. She educated me on different products and techniques the entire time she worked on my hair. If you are looking for someone to take care of your hair better than you would Lacey is your gal. She genuinely wants you to exceed your hair goals. I’m absolutely in love with my hair and can’t wait to go back. I also have a sensitive scalp and they were very accommodating about using products that fit my hair need. So if you are nervous about coming don’t be, I can’t praise Lacey enough!!!!

I scheduled my appointment with Randy for a dry cut. I have curly/wavy hair and am transitioning to my natural gray. I didn’t realize I wasn’t bringing my curl out to it’s full potential. After he cut my hair, he washed and conditioned it, taught me how to apply hair product, scrunching technique and how to dry with an difussor. I left feeling renewed and confident that I can now take care of my hair properly. I also bought some DevaCurl products that were recommended. The video is the before followed by after pictures.

This was my first curly cut and style, and wow, what an amazing experience! I've never been able to get my curls to work for me, and so have just flat ironed them away to the sad detriment of my strands (even while using heat protection). I figured as I've already embraced my natural color, I'd now work on embracing my natural texture/ style before frying all my hair! My experience at Emmi D SalonSpa did not disappoint!! Lilli was FANTASTIC and SWEET and patiently and clearly explained how to care for and maintain my own curls during the entire 2 hour curly dry cut, wash, style, and recut process. She made each step seem easy enough to replicate and redo at home, and when I saw the final results, I was seriously AMAZED (I actually had to give Lilli a hug before I left!!) No frizzy or crunchy curls but only soft, full-bodied spirals! I am SO excited to finally be able to confidently sport my own natural curls!! I only wish I had done this sooner....but better late than never! I hope my flat iron doesn't miss me too much because it's definitely not going to be getting much action! If you've been struggling with your curls, or thinking about embracing them but haven't been sure where to start, or nothing you've tried has worked to your liking, defintely give the curl cut/ style a try. You won't regret it! Also, Rochelle was incredibly helpful regarding products and very kindly offered to order in a line of purple shampoo (they only had the conditioner in stock at that moment) as I regularly use purple (which is a MUST for anyone with natural grey/ silver/ platinum hair!) to maintain the brightness of the silver in my own natural hair color! 😉 Before pic - washed, no products, finger brushed After pic - full curly cut/ style. Short Version: If you’re looking for a salon for a curly Girly . Book at Emmi D . The experience: Today was our first visit at Emma D salon and I’m so happy we found this place. My 5 yr daughter has beautiful springy curls and she is on the Autism spectrum, So finding a service provider for her is always a meticulous task. After about 3 months of stalking the social media page I finally booked the appointment. Our stylist Barri was amazing. She was super patient and kind. She was also very knowledgeable about her craft. She gave me a bunch of tips and tricks on how to handle my daughter’s curly locs leaving me super excited about our hair journey ahead. From the front desk down to the assistants you can tell these girls love what they do and we can’t wait to come back 🫶🏼

I paid $100 + tip for a rude stylist to chop off all my hair and leave me feeling worse about myself than I did before. The whole story: I have been following this salon on Instagram for a while. They posted a special on instagram. It was for a valentines day appointment. I was on the fence about doing it for a while but my husband said I deserved it, so I booked it. When I called and made the appointment their system was down but I thought nothing of it. They told me the promotional pricing and gave me a time slot. I was so excited to treat myself. I’ve probably been to a salon a total of three times in my life. I am a new mom and since I had my baby I just haven’t felt like myself, and I was hoping this would make me feel like me again.(I’m sure this is partially my fault, I know that’s a lot to ask of a hair cut) I have worn my hair curly in the past but I never really found a good routine or product. I went in and the front desk woman said “ you are in for a treat, this is going to be the best cut of your life” my excitement grew. My appointment was with the level 3 stylist, Barri and the cut and curl set was $100 regularly $225+. When I made the appointment no one mentioned I was to come with my hair styled. Immediately the stylist scolded me for not coming with my hair done. She said something along the lines of “surly they told you this on the phone. It’s a check box that they have to click when you make your appointment.” She went on about how I had to have known this, but the system was down when I called to make my appointment I’m not sure what happened, but I can assure you I was not made aware of this until I was in that chair. She continued with the consultation. I only had one preference and that was to maintain the length. I mean it is a hair cut so I was expecting a couple inches off, but I wanted to keep it as long as possible. I worked really hard to get my hair to that length and it was healthy! She showed me a photo of what she was thinking. She assured me she would keep it longer than the photo and just add body and shape, I agreed. There were three stylist in training that washed and set my curls. Those girls were so sweet to me and gentle with my hair I am very appreciative of them. I bet if they would’ve done the cut I would’ve been happy with it. When the set was done I went back to Barri. She was very off putting and very difficult to talk to. She cut my hair and just kept cutting. By the time it was over, my hair was just about to my shoulders and my length was totally gone. She turned me around and I kept saying I loved it, I think I was trying to convince myself of that in addition to being very uncomfortable. I got to my car and took an after photo and was completely devastated. My husband asked how it went and I just started crying. I let it sit for a couple of days re washed it myself and still hated it more and more. I have to take some responsibility I didn’t speak up when I realized she was cutting too much off. I said several times in the salon that I liked the cut and they mentioned if I had any issues to give them a call. I didn’t because what are they going to do sew my hair back on? I am forever wishing I just would’ve got my curls set and not a cut. At the end of the day it is just hair and it will grow back. But I couldn’t imagine how devastated I would’ve been if I had paid $225 for this. I hope that if you choose this salon that your experience is better than mine.

Emmi D Salon is perfect for anyone who is looking for a great stylist. We took our daughter who has very curly and wavey hair bc she wanted bangs. Other hair stylists wouldn’t give her the cut she wanted but a friend had suggested and Emmi D did not disappoint! Our daughter walked out with the exact cut she wanted and we were given samples of some product to try, which was very helpful. Lacey went above and beyond and our daughter is very happy.

First experience at a curly hair salon and I’m pretty disappointed the girl that did my hair was super sweet and polite and all the staff was nice massage chairs were cool and service was as well but I left looking worse then when I came in and I could tell by my stylist face that she wasn’t sure what to do with my hair. My curl pattern is a little different but still I asked for lots of layers to add dimension and to take off as much weight as possible and to fix my bangs in front so they aren’t so choppy pretty much got one chopped layer across my hair and when I got home my roommate was shocked I payed over $100 for my haircut! I can barely put my hair in a pony tail and I definitely can’t do an up and down look which I told her was my go to look. the layer in my hair is so thick and noticeable it looks ridiculous I don’t know how to work with it. After being emotional about it I just decided to straighten my hair until it grows out. After researching I wish someone would have let me know there was different levels of stylist because It’s rare to find someone who knows how to cut my hair and I was hesitant already to try someone new. If the stylist is a level 1 definitely shouldn’t be charging over $100 because I’m devastated. ☹️

I came in initially for a curly hair cut, it turned out beautifully I was so happy with the job this stylist had done and decided to do something new and book a hair coloring service. The coloring stylist was so kind but I literally cried myself home. I walked in wanting something low maintenance. Just a simple caramel balayage. Welp. I walked out with nearly platinum blonde hair an inch from my roots..? I’ve spent so long trying to grow my hair and keep it healthy and I’m devastated this happened. I still tipped decent didn’t even complain a bit when this happened but I will never go back or recommend this place. If you do come here be careful and very specific

I have curly hair and the experience you get there is awesome!!! The head massages are great and the staff is so friendly and nice. They make you feel at home and always listen to your needs and goals. So glad I have found a great salon!

I went to Emmi D because my 3b/3c curly hair was heat damaged from flat ironing my hair without protecting it. I was told Bari was a level 3 curly hair stylist and that she was the best. I do have to say the salon is very nice and the staff, Bari and her assistants are super friendly and nice. It truly was a nice experience and they did everything to make me feel comfortable. My goal for my appt was to see if it could be repaired, learn more about my hair and how to care for it and possibly cut off the damaged hair. As I said before Bari was great however; when she started working on my hair she couldn't tell me if it could be repaired so I asked her to just cut it all off and I'll start over on my curly hair journey. She didn't want to do that and was convinced that if she trimmed it that it would bounce back and that it would be better to gradually trim it instead of chopping it off. I think a part of her was thinking of me and how I would react to shorter hair (which was appreciated), but it was still my hair, my decision and my husband paid over $300+ for this appt and I left there feeling awful and unhappy. Overall, it was a cute haircut, but all of the damage was still there and after they styled it, it looked terrible. I had no curls, my hair was dry and frizzy. I also felt the information to maintain my hair was very general and not specific to my needs. They told me to only use gel and mousse. My hair is very dry and can't retain water and they told me not to use leave-in conditioners, heat protectors, curl creams. I like defined, bouncy curls that have shine and I was expecting to leave there with just that and it was a worse. I ended up cutting my own hair and chopped it all off to a curly pixie which I'm loving right now. I really wished that she would've done what I asked from the beginning and made it worth the $300+ that was spent. A level 3 stylist should be able to tell me what types of curls I have, how to handle my dry thirsty curls and products to use to achieve the look that I want. I didn't get that here. I got more helpful information on YouTube following other curly hair stylists and following what they recommend. If you decide to go there, make sure you get what you pay for, because I didn't and I feel terrible that I had my husband pay all that money and I ended up cutting my own hair and he keeps telling me it looks way better!!!!

My first curly cut experience with Bari at Emmi D was AMAZING and by far the best cut and style I've ever had! The second time at this salon, I took advantage of the $95 curly cut deal with a different hairdresser. I was put under a hair dryer station the entire drying process, so my curls came out flat. I can't tell you how my cut came out until I go home and diffuse my own curls. Update: I styled my hair, and the cut came out fine.

i have been coming to emmi d salon for Maryann since i was a sophomore in high school, now being a junior in college i still make sure to drive home once in a while so Maryann can touch up my blonde! She is truly an amazing colorist and hairdresser, she does everything and more for your hair. she fits me in her day even when she is insanely busy on short notice! i get asked constantly who does my hair color, every time i tell them maryann!!

Soooo I just wanna say that this salon is awesome. Their customer service is by far the best I’ve received. I initially came in for a curly hair rezo cut / trim. My first initially haircut wasn’t the best but the customer service provided to fix my haircut is by far the best and what I want to emphasize. The owner Bari and manager Katie and their employees went above and beyond to make sure my needs were met. My hair was fixed and I LOVE my haircut. The quality of haircut that I have now is the best. The quality of products they use is awesome. The salon itself is gorgeous. They have a heated toilet seat😆🙌 just a really awesome experience overall even with having to come in twice to correct my haircut. I will be going back to get my haircut by Bari (owner). Very professional and positive environment.
