I'm African American with natural hair. I called and asked if their were any black hair dressers, the lady over the phone was rude as hell and I mean rude!!.....I've had a white person on my head, she didn't know how to handle my hair, she had to go ask for help, i was there longer than beeded to be, she barely wanted to touch my hair and did a awful job on top of that. It should be upon the customers request, like it use to be.

I love my educators ! They are very nice, supportive and understanding, they pay close attention to us students to make sure we succeed doing what we love.

Now that I’ve graduated I figured I’d update my review! Going to empire beauty school Dixie is hands down the best thing I’ve ever done! I couldn’t be more grateful for the experience I had, all that I learned, and the relationships I made! You won’t find a better school in the city for textured/natural hair! Seriously! Ms Amanda is soo good at what she does! And taught us soo much! And Ms Alisa is just the best and sooo supportive! All of the educators know their stuff and actually want to make sure you know it too! If you’re looking for a place to get your hair done or looking into going to school I highly recommend empire Dixie! I was a stay at home mom for 10 years before I finally got to start beauty school and I’m sooo glad I went when I did with the people I went with! I have nothing but great things to say about empire! And if you love the beauty industry and want to change your life for the better, empire Dixie is the place to be! I’ve seen sooo many horror stories of bad cosmo school experiences. I feel so lucky mine was the total opposite! I was 100% ready and prepared for my state board testing and I learned sooo much! I’m forever grateful for everyone in there! The students, the staff! NOBODY cheers me on and supports me like my empire family does! And I really truly thank yall for that🥹🩷

Front desk people Very unprofessional kicked me my kid and my fiance out because I was breast feeding and my child was walkin in the waiting area floor not getting into nothing they allow everyone on the floor w the person they came with up till the big bosses come literally I been here multiple time never had a issue always been the one to just come w someone else who getting service well this certain day the big boss came in w out noone knowing and they just started acting like this

Amanda grace is a nasty educator she charged me $10 extra then what I usually pay and when I asked her why is the price different she said it just is and asked if I was going to pay or not, I told her I can see why nobody likes her and was banned from the school for that. I have no choice but to call corporate on her and complain bc this is outrageous over something so small to have tickets in my account showing what I usually pay compared to when she rung me up. Cooperate and state board will be hearing about this

Worst Pedi ever. Foot in bucket,rolling chair kept sliding, only pushed down cuticles, had to ask for toenails to be cut, then tech had to leave & find a hand nail clipper, no exfoliating, no gel polish available due to no clear coat polish, charged $6.00to remove polish. Had to tell tech scrub comes B4 lotion. HORRIBLE, AVOiD . Where is their training? Only plus side girls were nice. When we left students were n parking lot smoking weed. Never again!

HIDDEN GEMS!!! I was a little nervous about getting what I wanted done but after speaking to Ms Gabby I was at ease. She was clear, had great energy, and listened. She gave me positive feedback and suggestions. I then had my hair carefully taken down by Ms Amiyah. She was engaging and me feel comfortable. She was gentle not harsh with my hair. Once that was done I was now ready for the closure of my session. I sat in Ms Dorcas's chair and hands down SHE showed out with my beautiful boxed braids. My parts were professional and neat. She took her time and did the darn thang. The experience was great. The price was amazing!!! Thank you ladies for great service and your hospitality.

Tanisha Brown has been one of the best students doing my hair. She's been the only one to do my hair that I didn't leave with me being dry and me not having to go home to add products just to put moisture in my hair. I'll miss her doing my hair! But so happy that she's graduating. I'm so proud of her and that she'll be going to do what she loves to do....
