This was my first experience at Empire and they exceeded my expectations! For at least two years I was wearing my long hair in a bun of neglect. It was broken, split, and dead. I received a cut w/a long layer and a clear glaze. The instructors and Ivy were great with the consultation. Ivy’s execution was exactly what I wanted. At least five inches shorter and my hair is shiny, healthy, and still mid-back. It’s been less than a week and two people have asked who did my hair. Thank you!

I understand this is a training school but the lack of quality and effort my wife has received is unacceptable . There’s no manners no professionalism. The stylist is going to be a complete utter failure in the cosmetology world. Not only the student but the teacher as well. How are you going to be training others when you yourself suck at your job? See if it was a bad hair cut by the student the teacher should be able to fix it. But for 2 of you to mess up? Pitiful. Uneven bangs. Hair is way too short. Yall were told to take 2” off and somehow took 6”. Yall were just ripping hair out instead of brushing hair properly. If yall made a mistake. Apologize. offer remedies. Don’t just send a customer on their way. The best part about all this. Is how the stylist literally said” I don’t even know why I’m here cutting hair I only wanted to learn to dye hair” and then she proceeds to burn my wife’s ear not once nor twice but 3 times. word of advice. Google reviews matter. so do your customers. And don’t ever underestimate the power of social media.

Nevaeh had the best experience with Kaylee at the East York location who was absolutely phenomenal at doing her hair we will definitely come back and see her again and again in the future! Thank you Kaylee you are amazing

Went in to tour the school and met with Mrs. Bianca. She was very thorough, kind, knowledgeable and answered all my questions which actually were very few because she covered everything with great detail. It seems like she really cares about your career choice and loves what she does!

🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰exceptional exceptional customer services. I use to go to Harrisburg location and I will never return. York location is so welcoming and vibe and atmosphere is awesome. They were all so very sweet and kind. Cynsere did my hair and she very knowledgeable gentle caring tentative with my hair. The lead teacher 🥰and director was there on the floor they were pleasant well. Thank you ladies for having customer service skills many business lack that skill now days😘

Empire Beauty School must be evaluated on a case-by-case basis since the students are constantly revolving, of course, but today I received an excellent cut and color from RiRi. She helped me choose the right auburn colors for my (sadly) gray roots and the rest of my hair and gave me a lovely cut. I am very pleased. She also has a fun personality and is easy to talk to. I will not be able to afford RiRi when she's finds herself at a salon and can command top dollar, but she will deserve it. Book her while you can! Shout outs to the delightful Ashley who assisted and Miss Gigi who oversees the students and is absolutely charming. Listen, you're not always going to get the most talented student, but for the price, you have to be willing to be a guinea pig. And today I felt like I got a true professional haircut and color. Kudos

The director at this location when i attended here literally made us stay in class for the entire day during an active gas leak. And i heard they promoted her. Even after the countless racist remarks and actions against my teacher. Unless I’m informed otherwise about ms Kauffman, I’d never recommend this school.

Kim is great! Fast, informative, helpful and easy to manage. They’re excited for you and it shows! I’m super excited to be a part of Empire and am ready for this next chapter of my life. If you’ve been thinking about doing it, make the jump! You won’t regret it…. Upon being a student at this location for a year I must say this. Do not come here. Go to a different location if you want to actually learn. This location can’t keep teachers nor can it keep directors and students learning and passing the state board seems to be at the very bottom of the priority list. The students are drama, very little professionalism, theft is an MAJOR issue and discipline is seriously lacking. I’m not saying don’t go to Empire, I’m simply saying stay away from the York location. You deserve better!

The lovely woman at night Brittany was awesome 👌 in every aspect of professionalism and understanding. Her willingness to go above and beyond to get basically jacked up dreadlock out my wifeys hair was superb. I would recommend her for anything. Next time however I will be getting that fade you promised. Anyhow however some of the students were lazy and unwilling to give her a hand at a very difficult job where she was constantly going for 4 hours straight. 🙄 even the two instructors gave up and told her to just cut it. It isn't worth saving. But determined as she was Brittany never gave up thank you girl for saving my wife's hair. Much appreciated. Now I understand closing time but I also understand that if ur not done something especially someone's hair u atleast got to finish it and if Mrs Rayna would have assisted instead of being a snooty woman sayi g how dirty my wifes hair was and not worth saving it would have been done well before closing 2 hands are always better then one. Now I'm not saying that Brittany wasn't capable of completing the task but coming out and saying she better be done by 10:15 is kinda rude even when I'm wife wasn't supposed to be her client and Mrs Rayna and other student's refusing to give her a hand is ridiculous. What saved the hair and the time which if allowed to use from the beginning was the Wet comb Pro that I brought in literally finished the other half of the job in 45 min instead of the 3hrs and 15 mins using the school's tools maybe time for an upgrade not all hair is thin and can handle a fine tooth comb

Be careful letting them do your hair, especially if it involves chemicals. Truthfully, I cannot believe this school is still up and running. This place is lacking in professionalism majorly. The environment itself is chaotic. Students do more socializing about their private lives instead of focusing on the task at hand. No filter or proper etiquette for conversations. Everyone talking about each other behind their backs then smiling in their face. The instructors set the tone for the environment and obviously they aren’t setting a good one. The service I received was not properly done and I am still paying for it. My hair sheds so bad that I lost half of it. Eventually I will just shave it off. Out of all the staff working there, only a handful were dedicated and focused on their work. I met one student who spoke to me about how quickly she wants out of there mainly because of the lack of professionalism. These are the students that will eventually be going into the workforce and they are not being properly trained.

Mi experiencia al ir a inscribirme fue un poco decepcionante ya que la directora no me permitió inscribirme por mi nivel de inglés,yo vengo de México y me comentaron que volviera cuando mejorará y que ellos estaban por contratar a una maestra que hablara español pero no era segura todavía, yo estoy estudiando inglés y quisiera inscribirme en esta escuela ya que su prestigio es muy bueno...pudieran orientarme a cerca de este tema.. gracias!

Shout out to Aiyanna Dickson for the perm she gave my sister, she loves it! Also to the stylist that cut my hair she was so exact listened to what I wanted. It impressed me that she noticed how My hair looked when I came into the studio so she already had an idea of what I was looking for in a style. Good job Empire!

The educators are great they explain everything throughly so that there is no confusion. If you have questions they’re always someone to ask.

This place has great hours. The staff is very friendly. But the last visit paid $90 for services, and the color faded in a week. Called talk to management, and of course, negative response. Never had this happen before.
