Meg is fantastic! She knew exactly how to make my idea come to life. I have always been nervous to go darker with my color and this is the first time I actually like the darker pieces of my hair. So far I’m 2/2 on perfect cuts and color with her. Would recommend 100%!!

Beth, Peter, and staff at Epoch are SO amazing and I’m so thankful to have found them when looking for a salon in the city! So much knowledge, they explain things thoroughly and thoughtfully so the client knows what to expect, and everyone there is so welcoming.

Exceptional service and the most amazing people! I am a hijabi and they were so accommodating. They made me feel comfortable and welcome. Maria was my stylist and I love the cut and highlights she did on my hair. If you are in wicker park/ bucktown area I highly recommend Epoch!

Great experience! I had Sam as my stylist and she knocked it out of the park! I went darker in color but wanted to maintain some dimension in my hair. She listened to what I wanted and provided great feedback on how to achieve those results. My results were exactly what I was looking for! Appointment was relaxing and all staff are very accommodating. I look forward to returning! Thank you for such a great experience!

I first discovered this place 4 years ago. And I’ve been a client to Emma who absolutely did a beautiful job with my balayage and Sam who absolutely snapped on my cut. I come to epoch whenever I have time to go to the city because no where I’ve been to, does a better job. Worth the trip!! Can’t wait for my nxt appointment ☺️

I had a fantastic experience here. Just moved to the area so was on the market for a new hair stylist. They were patient with me as I debated getting bangs or not and when I did they walked me through upkeep / products to use.

I initially posted this 5 star review years ago when Sara Jac first joined as I followed her from her previous salon that was down the block from me to Wicker Park. Figured it's long past time for an update! So here I am years later confirming she is the absolute best and I love her and Epoch so much. Like Sara, the salon is welcoming and inclusive and full of good vibes. She is always a major highlight of my month and I look forward to every appointment. When I have a specific vision I trust Sara to discuss every aspect with me and give me great results. When I don't and want her to experiment, I know she'll come up with something amazing. She's cut my hair at every length and is amazing with each. When I want to keep it long, she ensures I have healthy and happy length. She protects my 3b curls through every cut and every color (and that's not easy with me! I'm an actor so not always in control of my color and also like to experiment so she's helped me maintain pure ash platinum blonde, realistic coppers and reds, and even a fun pinky peach-blonde)! She's also just a sweet and lovely human. If you need some peace and quiet she's happy to give you that. If you want to chat about tv or movies or cats she's happy to do that too. Sara gives excellent and on-point product recommends without ever pushing anything on you. Everything I've used at her suggestion has a worked wonders. I'm so grateful she's my stylist and colorist. I'll include some examples of her fantastic work.

I left today sooooo satisfied with the work done on my hair. I have been coming to epoch for almost 3 years now. Today was the first time I went with Maria. She left me looking sooooo good. The wash , the dying , the haircut , the blowout, was just everything. She made me feel so comfortable too. I love making a good connection with a hairstylist and definitely felt it with her, I mean she left my hair looking so so beautiful. I even pre booked my next appointment with her. Will definitely recommend people to her. Also she works with a lot of people with my hair type so it was nice to have someone that knows how to deal with my hair do their magic. She was amazing.

I won't comment on the stylists and their work, which looks great per the pictures and my daughter's hair looks incredible. I will warn anyone going in for the first time to be clear with their stylist and confirm prices and costs. My daughter has been there before and had set up the appointment, and she understood that the total cost before tip would run around $240. Granted, this seems pricey as a guy, but I get it. More hair, coloring, etc. She ended up texting us towards the end and said that the stylist was confusing and the bill end up around $650 before tip for about 3-4 hours of work. I'm still trying to understand how it would cost this much for hair styling, which seems insane. But the point to ownership is that the conversation between the stylist was confusing and customers should be updated on the new total before tip clearly during the process. If you're a future customer, I would ask often during the process. I essentially made a "car payment" yesterday that I wasn't expecting.

My new favorite salon! I usually don’t get my haircut at all because I can never feel comfortable enough at any of the salons I’ve been to, but that is definitely no longer the case. Everyone was so friendly, the environment itself gave off very welcoming vibes, and my stylist Melissa was amazing!

The best salon in Chicago! Everyone is so kind, helpful, and patient and it’s super clean. Amy is AMAZING. She knocks the color and cut out of the park every time, while keeping my hair so healthy.

Can’t say enough great things about Epoch (and specifically Emma)! Emma took the time to fully understand what I actually wanted for my hair and walked me through what was realistic to achieve. She somehow knew exactly what I was hoping for even if I didn’t know exactly how to ask for it! Every haircut or color I’ve gotten has been spot on, and she’s extremely efficient as well. I moved to the suburbs and still won’t change hair salons because Emma is the best

Damaged hair after bleaching. I used to do it myself but it looked uneven. However my hair never got damaged by box bleach kits. Went somewhere else to fix the damage, same prices and better service.

Had my first haircut with DeAnne Bittner and let me just tell you, I feel like I got my first REAL haircut in years with her!!!! I’ve been bouncing around to different studios for the past few years and I’ve finally found my spot! It’s wild how good your hair can look after an amazing cut vs a mediocre one. I’m never turning back!!! Scheduling was super easy, Sophie at the front is a gem, and the studio is a really awesome space as well! Look forward to seeing DeAnne again in January!! P.S. She is also very cool and funny!!!!

It was my first time going to Epoch and I will say, I will be going back. I had Angy as my hairdresser and she did a phenomenal job! She is friendly and attentive to the details of her work. My hair can be a bit difficult to deal with but she made her magic work! It came out exactly how I envisioned it. Afterwards she gave me a blowout and my hair looked even better! I been getting a compliments on my new hair color. Highly recommend her for hair coloring and blowouts! Thank you Angy!

Sara is the first stylist I’ve worked with that FINALLY knows how to work with my curl and texture. I’ve been getting a bit of a shag/bang for over a year now, and get so many compliments. People ask me where I get my hair done all the time. She’s great! Would highly recommend.

A bit of a unique review- Originally, there was some confusion with pricing expectations. Epoch could have very easily tried to pass blame or ignore my comment, however, they took my concern seriously and resolved the issue immediately, kindly, and gracefully. I really appreciate the integrity of the owner and staff in this scenario that was only an accidental miscommunication- which does happen- we are human! I enjoyed my time with Ari and appreciate the staff and will be back!! ☺️

Ari is so talented ! I’ve been wanting to get my hair dyed for a while and I was struggling to find a stylist willing to take the challenge. Ari not only understood my vision she exceeded my expectations! I would 100% recommend going to her for your hair coloring!!

Hannah is amazing!! I brought in a picture for a fun half up hair-do for a wedding and couldn’t have loved what Hannah styled more. Maria is a miracle worker. I had gotten my hair done (balayage) in Europe and they messed it up and 2 weeks later I came to Maria to get it redone. She walked me through exactly what I wanted, did like 8 different things to it, and made it perfect. My hair color is difficult to work with and tends to turn coppery or brassy but she made it the perfect honey blonde balayage and perfectly blended. Will definitely be going to her from now on. It's hard to see the color accurately because of the lighting in the photo (and dirty mirror) but it's perfect.

Had the best experience at Epoch! All of the staff was so friendly and helpful from start to finish. I booked an appointment with Megan and she made me feel so comfortable the entire time. I showed her pictures of the cut and color i was going for and she recreated exactly what I wanted. I’m so happy with my new hair! I can’t say enough nice things about her and this salon. 10/10 experience.

Meg(Megan) is Amazing!!! This was my first time ever getting extension, and it was a week before my wedding! Procrastinator I am for sure but it was because I was so uncertain of what to do, who to go to. Till I found epooch & Meg. She walked me through all my options without pressuring me to do any of them or feeling dumb because I had no idea about extensions. She was so patient & kind to me! The hair and the extensions is real hair and felt amazing! The picture of the back of my head you can’t even tell the difference of what is a clip in & my actual hair! Yes the price might seem high to people, but you get what you pay for! It was worth every cent and I can continue to wear them & wash them whenever I want! Need extensions or advice on hair! Book with Meg (Megan) you will NOT REGRET IT!

I just moved to Wicker Park and was in search of a new hair salon. Lizette made my scheduling experience so easy and nice with good communication. Maria, my hair stylist, did an AMAZING job!! I have been getting my hair colored for 10 years and Maria is one of the best stylist I've had. She helped me achieve the exact results I wanted. Thanks to Maria, I feel confident with my new hair and will definitely be coming back to see her!

Loved seeing Emma! She is my go to for toner and balayage/highlights! I came back and got a chop and retoned my hair :) If you’re going to anyone go to her! The staff are very friendly on the phone and at the salon always offering water etc.!

I recently had an appointment at Epoch and I am always impressed. From the warm welcome at reception to the incredible service from my stylist, Sam, who provided personalized consultation and valuable hair care tips, every aspect was top-notch. The salon’s clean, beautifully designed space, complete with soothing ambiance and complimentary beverages, added to the experience. The haircut and styling exceeded my expectations, leaving me feeling rejuvenated.. I highly recommend Epoch for its professional service, talented staff, and welcoming environment!
