Didn't get my hair done, and she seems extremely nice and accommodating in the beginning. But I told her I needed my hair done for a wedding and how much difficulty I was having finding a black hairstylist in Seattle to do my hair. Long story short, after doing the new client form I was "allowed to book", I sent a couple of styles I was thinking about but I let her know the style wasn't my priority I just wanted a good cut and silk press. Upon booking , I noticed her silk press with trim included was $100 more and it states that the trims is only for up to an inch of hair... I thought it would be important and respectful to ask , since I am a new client , that if I needed more than 1 inch of hair trimmed, would that be more of a fee? She responded by saying she decided to not accept new clients anymore (wow within a few days of speaking to me and being given permission to book) and did not even answer the question if I needed more hair trimmed would it be more of a fee for any potential of booking with her in the future. Another sad part of this experience: Before given permission to book and I was sharing the styles I was thinking of, thinking* of once again as I stated I was mainly in need of just a silk press and trim. she told me I should go somewhere else for the style and she recommended a white hair stylist....after me sharing with her that I just moved here and have been having so much difficulty finding a *****black stylist that just felt like kind of a slap in the face and strange... On top of that recommendation, when she informed me she was no longer accepting new clients she gave me more recommendations of other stylist to go to which is really nice to do to support others, however 2 of the recommendations no showed their appointments with me which has nothing to do with her just sharing. All in all a very confusing experience and I just really wish I could have gotten my hair done even if she suddenly decided to not accept new clients, she didn't even attempt to leave the door open for me in the future as a potential client, and it seemed it was in retaliation of me asking the question about if I needed more hair trimmed would it be more of a fee, and this hurts as I am extremely loyal to my hair stylists and I just moved here, but I was left high and dry like so many black girls that move to Seattle.

I feel so lucky to be able to find Myam and work with her on my hair journey. She was so sweet and understanding. I was able to learn so much from her on hair care and growth. She was so knowledgeable and caring. I really look forward to working with her more. She is amazing and I can’t recommend her enough.

I don’t usually post Google reviews, but I had to for Myam! I’ve consistently had great results from her since I started going to her earlier this year, so I think it’s time! I cannot say enough wonderful things about Myam at Esme Salon!! From the moment she met me at the door, it felt like we had known each other for years. It's always a bit nerve-wrecking when trying out a new hair stylist, but Myam's warm and welcoming demeanor immediately put me at ease. What truly sets Myam apart is her expertise in caring for Black natural hair. Finding a stylist who understands how to work with my hair type has always been a challenge, but Myam is an absolute MASTER. Her silk presses and trims are second to none. She goes above and beyond by giving my hair an assessment and an extremely thorough shampoo, a level of care I had never experienced at other salons! Recently, I took the plunge and had Myam cut my hair into a layered style I've fallen in love with (pictured below, don't mind my facial expressions lol). She listened attentively to my preferences and delivered beyond my expectations. And in addition to her great technical skills, Myam is an amazing educator. She always takes the time to share invaluable tips on how to better care for my hair. Every time I make an appointment with Myam, I am literally counting down the days until I see her. Her talent + warm personality make each visit a true, true pleasure. Myam is the Dr. Of Hair. So thorough and thoughtful of her clients hair and needs. She takes her time to learn your hair as well as gives tips on how to maintain healthy hair. She is lovely and welcoming. When she is done you are left feeling even more beautiful. She will be my stylist forever ❤️.

She looks like she does amazing work. Unfortunately it is too difficult to hear back or get a response to book an appointment. There has not been an effort made to reach out to me as a potential client. I had emailed 2-3 three times and called multiple times as I wanted her services for my engagement photos. I would not recommend.

I can’t say enough about Myam and the Esme Salon experience. I look forward to every appointment not just because she keeps my hair the healthiest it’s ever been but it’s such a joy to see a master at work! Myam’s passion about what she does absolutely radiates and is evident in her extensive knowledge about technique and optimal hair care. My hair has never been healthier and every appointment she nails the color, whether I’m going bright blonde or the perfect blended bronde. I had to share my experience because Myam is so wonderful and deserves all the praise she can get. A few years ago, one of my coworkers had the most beautiful hair, so I asked her where she got it done. She raved on and on about Myam from Antonio Salon (where she previously worked), but because of Covid I took a hiatus from getting my hair done. Fast forward 2 years, I was ready to get my hair done, and went on a hunt for Myam (she no longer worked at Antonio Salon, so I had to do a bunch of googling and instagram stalking). I finally found her and waited 4 months to get in as a new client (she wasn't taking new clients at the time). Let me just say this - IT WAS WORTH IT! Myam is my far the best hair stylist/colorist I have ever been to. Even as a new client, she took the time to look at photos of my hair as well as what my goal color/cut looked like. She did research and recommended a highlight/root touch up/trim that met my personalized needs. She also was completely honest - that it may take 2-3 sessions to get me to my ideal color, but she could get me there. Even though I have only had 1 of the sessions, I am beyond happy with how my hair turned out. The color is gorgeous and just what I wanted. She was even able to cancel out some of the "streaky" highlights I had gotten previously and make them look more natural like I wanted. Beyond her technical skills and talent, Myam made me feel 100% comfortable and confident in her salon. I have struggled with hair loss, so getting my hair done has always been a source of anxiety for me. But seeing Myam was almost therapeutic for me - she didn't ask any noisy questions while also listening empathetically to my concerns and needs. She did mention she has other clients with hair loss and seemed to have a lot of knowledge about my condition, so if anyone has these issues, I highly recommend her (I have been to salons just for hair loss in the past, Myam was 1000x better than anyone I have seen). I have already recommended her to my sister and mother - she simply is the best hair stylist who will not only make you feel beautiful on the outside, but can help you regain your confidence and make you feel empowered. I am so thankful I found her and will never leave her!

I really love and appreciate Myam for her many talents as a Stylist and Artist. Her knowledge, professionalism, intuition and sense of style are absolutely impressive and inspiring! She has a knack for always creating the perfect color and cut for my hair. I have been her client since 2018 and my hair and I are for the better! :) The Esmé Salon space is vibrant and lovely and I always feel at home when I am there. I ALWAYS look forward to and enjoy my appointments with Myam. I leave feeling lighter, relaxed, uplifted and glamorous with beautiful refreshed hair. Without question she's the best stylist in Seattle, and among the best in the entire country. I’ve never had a 10/10 hair salon experience until I went to Myam. I had a bit of anxiety going into the appointment because I was making a big change to my hair but at the first interaction Myam’s warmth and professionalism melted all the anxious feelings. She is someone who TRULY cares about hair health and your goals. She provided so much education and guidance on how to take care of my hair. Her studio was so beautiful and like an oasis of calm. I’m still glowing after that appointment because I felt so cared for - honestly words fall short in explaining how amazing her work is. Finding a good hairstylist is like finding a good doctor. You don’t trust anyone else to take care of you! I am so fortunate to have found Myam! I went to her one time right before covid started, and after a year of taking a break from going out and getting my hair done, I decided it was time to get back in the chair. Myam got me in her books on a date she hadn’t normally been scheduling clients right as 2021 started. Once we sat down, she remembered every single thing that we had talked about during our last appointment, and of course how my hair works and likes to be treated. Of course the service is impeccable, her salon was tidy and amazingly designed. Her products were high end and smelled fantastic. She played music that fit the vibe and the conversation didn’t stop! I am so lucky to have a stylist like Myam and couldn’t be happier to recommend her when people ask who does my hair! On top of that, she is a BIPOC, and so supporting her is top tier. Having someone who understands my hair and my background is so important. Thank you thank you thank you! & if you’re wondering if Myam is right for you, let this be your sign that she is!!!

It’s True! All the prior reviews. Seriously. Myam is not only super fun to talk with and spend a few hours with, she listens, and just “gets” what you want, and can execute it! You know? I am so happy I found Myam! I was having a hard time trusting someone to do my hair in a tasteful, natural way until I saw her instagram. She has great taste and suggested a great plan to keep my hair looking great as it grows out. I get a lot of compliments on my hair color now. I moved to Seattle a year ago and have bounced around several people for color (blonde), pretty unsatisfied with everyone I saw on mostly every level. I am SO happy I found Myam, even though I have only been to her once. I'm super picky, but she gave me exactly what I wanted - a natural, lived in look that was super blended and would grow out seamlessly. She was also such a gem, friendly, and so professional. I saw pictures of Myam’s studio space and let me tell you, they do not even do it justice. The space is beautiful, clean, and just radiates of her glowing personality and calming presence. My hair has never felt or looked better after she brightened me up with full highlights and added some extensions. I always love seeing Myam because I feel so fresh and rejuvenated when I leave. Myam is amazing! It’s challenging enough to find a good hair stylist in Seattle let alone one that understands how to manage ethnic hair. From day 1, Myam has kept my hair amazingly healthy and strong. She knows exactly what to do and how to do it with regards to thicker textured hair. She literally is the best! Myam was my stylist and colorist for over two years until I moved out of Seattle. I've *never* had a stylist I trust so much with my hair! She's always up-to-date with the latest techniques and trends, she's diverse in what she specializes in, and she gives a 110% of her effort every time I see her. Saw Myam for the first time back in early August, and I’m still loving how her work is complimenting my grow-out. Honestly, Myam was the first stylist I’ve worked with who I felt completely comfortable with, she has such a genuine, joyful personality that it’s hard not to have a good time with her. Myam did such an amazing job on my hair (color and cut) and has such a beautiful, relaxing and quiet space. She is taking every precaution with covid and I felt very safe. She’s great to talk to, and knows what she’s doing. Definitely recommend!
