David was great and I will recommend him to anyone who likes a good massage at affordable price! I’ve been going to Essence Massage and body now for a while now due to some hip and back issues, every time I go there I’m pleasantly surprised by different method and techniques that dave uses on my body, today I had traditional Chinese foot reflexology, cupping shiatsu and deep static therapeutic upper back work Along with active muscle work on my legs. Thank you david, I feel great. 🙏 So I have to update this review and starts by making an appointment for a massage and when I showed up the lady(Dave's wife) said he wasn't there for my appointment and when she called him and handed the phone to me he said that he's doing a electrical work in Renton! I was shocked that there was no follow up or apologies to missing my appointment and not communicating it either or try to make it right or even making another appointment in future!! So I thought I add this to my review as I was very disappointed in the business conduct 🤔

Was in Seattle today, so looked for a massag as I've been having some lower back and sciatic issues I decided to come here based on very good reviews. I get a lot of massage and also studied it (a long time ago). I was welcomed by a pretty yet bored, young Chinese woman... turns out she gave the massage too. I'm sorry to say this lady really did not know much about massage. Perhaps I should have interviewed her first, but I assumed I would get a skilled, therapeutic massage. I tried to get something out of the experience- including instructing her on how to use the elbow in lower back and buttocks. But really, this was a waste of my money- and even some self-respect. Also, she maybe spent 45 minutes and the place was cold.

I am an avid massage seeker and a casual client at Essence… until I met MICHAEL. Now I’m an enthusiast at Essence. Michael is incredible—he is the type of therapist that I will remember your pressure preferences and your usual sore spots. He also is the type of therapist that can find the places that you need work on just by initial touch. He moderates pressure based on your body’s response and seek out the knots and tightness by intuition or pure wizardry. Never have I found my massages uncomfortable or painful (in the bad way—I like deep pressure). Speaking of deep pressure, if you find your therapist tiring out towards the end and needing frequent redirection to keep the pressure strong, you’ll be pleasantly surprised, none is needed with Michael. He’s spent years training all over the world, mastered several modalities, finds passion in the work he does, and it truly shows! If you’re looking for a great massage, go here. If you’re seeking life changing? Ask for Michael. Also, if you’re also just looking for a tiny Asian woman, to WWF massage the demons and knots out of you, they have that too.

I was referred to Essence Massage for a late night walk-in and not only they accommodated my schedule, and I had one of the best massage session I’ve ever had! David is very knowledgeable about massage therapy and used many techniques I’ve never had before. Overall a rejuvenating experience! Did I mention my skin was so well moisturized with the coconut oil and lotion they used?

Had a great walk-in massage with David. Not only was the massage rejuvenating, but it was also informative. David taught me exercises to stretch and strengthen my muscles. I will be returning for sure!

Incredible massages for my boyfriend and me! They’re open late (great for a hectic work schedule!), locally run and operated, and had me almost fast asleep by the end of the hour. This is an awesome neighborhood spot, and it’s so clean, professional, and low-key. I highly recommend, and I’ll definitely be back!

I have been a semi-regular client for several months. Every single session is customized to my needs: whether it is to help recover from an intense exercise session, relieve stress, treat injury, or help relax the body. David continuously asks questions and employs his many skills to address any issues. I am so impressed with his passion for massage therapy and his drive to keep learning and developing expertise in many disciplines! The other day my session included deep-tissue massage, shiatsu, relaxing face massage, and Chinese foot massage. I cannot recommend him enough!
