I got my hair cut and blown last minute after a surprise engagement en route to celebrate - they did an AMAZING job. My hair felt the best it ever has. All for a reasonable price. I will actually wait for haircuts until I’m back in NYC just to come back!

Shout out to Alex who does a great job and is very kind and consistent about wearing a mask on request. It's so hard to find a COVID-safe haircut so I always appreciate being able to stay healthy and have cute hair

This place is so cute!! Laura did my hair, as she has been doing for years. Etta salon is quaint and cozy. It is clean and welcoming, not loud and overwhelming.

Cut my long hair way too short when I just wanted a trim…Layers were choppy and now I have to go fix it with my other hairdresser. No blowout at the end either. Disappointed. Will not be coming back or recommending for long haired people.

I don't think they know how to style cut curly hair. I was kind of shook when they started to shape cut my hair like a chia pet with just the scissors and no guiding. I've never had my hair cut like that before. Didn't match the outcome, tried to give feedback to maybe fix it but my lack of knowledge in hair styling terms isn't helping either so she did her best. I wish they knew more intuitively as to what haircut would look good on me and match it with the pictures i had brought up for reference. Also for the price? Yikes. I've gotten much more services and after care for what I pay in similarly tiered salon. Wouldn't go back, vibes were off. Need to find a more POC-friendly hair stylist next time.

Tried this place out, saw Alex for a mediocre cut and balayage. Gave reference photos but I guess she wasn’t paying attention. Other staff were hanging out and playing loud tiktoks etc. Oh well! You win some you lose some. The kind of place you’d refer to someone you don’t really like very much.

Had walked by a bunch of times, but came in today to get my haircut with Alex T. She was super quick and I absolutely love my cut, my hair feels so much healthier.

Went to Bri yesterday. We started almost an hour late but fine, it happens, I get it. I brought a book, did some reading, finished my coffee. I gave like, pretty explicit instructions and showed her photos of the cut I wanted/usually go for but she wasn’t paying attention/too busy talking to a friend so instead of walking out with a cute touched up bob, I walked out with something between a pixie and a bob and she essentially cut out my entire wave pattern. It was over an inch shorter than what I asked for which like — how do you fix that? I just have to wait for my hair to grow but I definitely won’t be returning.

Alex did a really wonderful job with my hair. I really liked that she let me know exactly what she was doing throughout the whole process, whether it was what product she was using or why she was cutting in a certain way. I will definitely be going back.

Alex is a wonderful stylist and she even offered to do some post cut adjustments the following week if I had any reservations. She is kind, fun to talk to and gives great haircuts! Going to Etta Salon was a great experience! Thank you Alex!

Amazing experience! I never leave reviews but Tristan was awesome. They did exactly what I asked in terms of cut, were extremely gentle and knowledgeable, and made me feel super comfortable. I will be coming back!!

Came here for my first ever hair color experience a week ago and I’m obsessed. So glad to have found an amazing salon in Bedstuy!! I went to Alex, and she did a phenomenal job doing exactly what I wanted. Couldn’t be happier!

Erin and Alex did a beautiful job on my limp hair. Erin was able to bring it to life with a lovely layered cut and Alex helped me get a perfect red color. I'm so happy with the outcome! Will definitely be back!!

I went to the salon to color my roots. Should be an easy job, just match the color, I am a dark brunette, which is very simple. Not just my stylist Bri, did not match the color (it turned to be much lighter), within a week, the roots reappeared again. It cost me over 200$!

Paid extra for a curly cut but I came out with a rounder, less shapely cut than I’ve gotten for $20 at a mall. Super disappointed

Went there three times. Not once I was offered anything to drink despite being there for hours. Last time I was there, my hair was MESSED up and the reply i got was, “come back next week and we’ll fix it.” Yet I was charged almost $400! I didn’t even get a blow out. I had been there for hours, left on the chair while the stylist was in the back. To the point that 30 min had elapse of what was supposed to be 5 min and her colleague had to call her to come. Will never return and would discourage anyone from setting foot here.

Absolutely wonderful salon! I booked an appointment with Laura and she gave me a great cut, layer, sorted out my bangs and blew it out! Everyone is so friendly and chatty. So nice to have a local place to get my hair cut. Will be coming back here!

Alex is the best! I moved to this neighborhood very recently and was very skeptical of finding a good salon and a good hair stylist. I've had my hair grown for over 2 months. It wasn't looking the best. I just got it cut this afternoon and it came out to be exactly how I wanted it. Alex was my stylist and she's definitely very skilled at what she does. But, what I liked more was her warmth and her friendly vibe. She'll be my go-to from now on. Thank you again, Alex - for a great hair cut and for some lovely conversations!

This is the dream neighborhood salon I’ve been looking for!! Laura was so kind and fun and gave me great movie recs. She did such an incredible job with my cut and color, I couldn’t be happier. I came in with a mess of a color situation and told her I wanted to go shorter and she gave me beautiful cool brown hair and the most gorgeous curly bob. It’s been a week and I’ve gotten so many compliments.
