Sometimes you leave a salon and love the cut/style – but replicating at home is impossible. I wanted a haircut that allowed me to air dry or blow it out and I hadn’t been able to find it. After an appointment at the Eva Scrivo Salon – I knew I’d found my place. Eva’s haircuts are simply amazing – I don’t know how she does it – but as my hair grows out – it looks better and better. The salon is beautiful - and somehow mixes a quiet elegance with a relaxing atmosphere - the staff is welcoming and all about the details. I regularly travel to the salon from outside NYC for haircuts and color touchups – Eva and her Team never disappoint. Ben is one of a kind and never ceases to amaze me. He listens thoughtfully and truly understands my hair by transforming my color every time giving me gorgeous highlights that grow out beautifully and look natural. I have always come back to see him no matter where I am living whether in Asia, Europe or the US. My sister and I met Ben over 15 years ago and he has been our colorist ever since.

From the time you’re greeted at the door to the transforming hairwashing experience to Eva’s brilliantly tailored services, the experience is like being in a beautiful spa. I’ve been to the salons several time and my experience has always been delightful!

Eva has been my stylist for over 12 years and I would not trust my hair with anyone else. Not only is she exceptional with both my cut and color, she also provides targeted treatments to keep my hair at its healthiest (demineralization and deep conditioning treatments to combat the effects of hard water). I have curly hair that needs precision with its cut and she nails it every time to give me "Goddess hair" (as Eva calls it!). In addition, I have referred 3 others to Eva Scrivo Salon and pleased to report they are very happy and now regulars themselves. Thank you, Eva!

Both of the stylists Ive had the pleasure of working with were able to carefully listen, hear and respond to my requests for styling. A wonderful salon with terrific staff and lovely service. If you want a fabulous cup of coffee, this is the place to go! But if you’re willing to spend $450 for a 12 minute haircut to have an assistant blow your hair out this and Eva finish it off, go for it. I prefer to have a stylist who cuts and blow dries my hair for that kind of money. If you don’t have the time for a new client to do the right thing don’t make the appointment. PS. She just had one of the girls in the salon call me to ask how it went. I asked her if she read this review? So if you have a review and you are the owner of a salon, why would you have somebody else call the client if they are unhappy? As a business owner, you have the responsibility to own it! Pick up the phone yourself and don’t let a poor young girl do your dirty work, shame on you!

Crissi gave me an incredible haircut. She was helpful, nice and anticipated all my hair needs. She knew what to do to my hair to accentuate my facial features. I can’t wait to go back to Eva Scrivo Salon and to have Crissi cut my hair again.

I was referred to Jaclyn at Eva Scrivo by my stylist who was moving away. She had worked with Jaclyn at Warren Tricomi pre-Covid and said that she was great with blonds. Scheduling was easy and pricing was commensurate with other salons. Lovely light filled studio just north of Union Square. I love my cut (Cristina) and color (Jaclyn). Both stylists were dedicated, creative, and kind. Walked out of there feeling like a new person. Thank you, girls!

I’ve been going to Grace for my hair for the last few years. She has always been amazing with haircuts and color, as well as big life events. She did my hair color/cut for my wedding and it could not have been more perfect. Grace has great recommendations and guidance. She is both professional and approachable. I have sent many of my friends/family to her and they could not be happier!

My experience at Eva Scrivo was an absolute debacle. I shelled out $690 for in-room hair and makeup for a special event, a huge splurge for someone of my means, and it was nothing short of crushing. The makeup was subpar, and not only did my hair look nothing like the photo I had sent them, but it didn't look styled! I hired them for the two services because I lacked confidence in those skills, and I was receiving a special award that night. To make matters worse, the stylist answered a call during my session and seemed disinterested. I had to redo my hair myself because it was so blah. When the hotel contacted the salon with photos as evidence of their subpar services (date and time stamped for proof), they offered a future blowout, a shameful response for several reasons, especially considering I was visiting from out of state. Save your money and avoid Eva Scrivo. They ruined my Cinderella experience and outrageously ripped me off. Response to Eva Scrivo: It took you over a month to respond to this review, and you didn't at any point reach out to me by phone or email with a direct response or apology. That gesture would have shown you cared about me as a customer and what happened. The hotel quickly and directly spoke to me the day I told them what happened and said they were giving me a partial refund because they had yet to hear back from you. Once they did hear back from you, which was more than two days later, according to them, they said you offered me to come to the salon for a blowout. A blowout is menial compared to the price I paid for the special services; plus, as I told the hotel GM, it holds no value given that I don't live in NYC. Correct that the stylist asked me if I was open to a different hairstyle than the one I originally sent photos of, BUT I never expected that she meant just straightening my hair with a few regular curls at the bottom. I could have done that myself. I had to fix my hair to look more styled by putting it in a clip. The hotel was great at communicating with me and kind in absorbing accountability for your salon since they said they felt responsible for recommending you.

They are completely and utterly incompetent I am getting married in an hour and I have to wash my face and redo my hair . The lady asked for pictures and was completely in able to get anything close to the look. They should really have the decency to at least assign competent people to brides instead of ruining their days .I’m in tears and completely out of options

This was the best hair salon experience I’ve ever had. I’ve tried all the big name salons-Rita Hazan, Sally Hershberger, Warren Tricomi, Frederic Fekai, MarkRyan and more. This place is in a class of its own. Let’s start with their signature Painted Cut. My hairstylist David and my colorist Mira met with me and the three of us talked about what I was hoping for and what wasn’t working with my current cut and color, and they gave me ideas and suggestions. Unlike every other place I’ve ever been, first David cut my hair and then Mira did my base and then painted highlights that worked with the cut. It takes longer for them-and maybe that’s why every other salon colors first -before they can see the lines of the new cut. The result was the best result I’ve ever had. Beyond their talent, David and Mira were extremely kind and personable, and the entire place was relaxed and unpretentious. Truly, the best experience I’ve ever had. I’ll be back. I’ve finally found my perfect place.

I had Coolsculpting done about a month ago and I'm already starting to see results. Angelina looks at you like an artist would- she truly understands the human body and created a treatment plan that she knew would benefit me the most. Top tier salon and spa! Had my coolscuplting, fat freezing, procedure done hear and the entire experience was great! Angelina who performed the procedure, was very professional and knowledgeable and made the treatment a breeze. I also caught up on my Netflix shows while my fat was frozen away! Which is a win-win situation, if you ask me :D. And managed to sneak in a haircut, Antonia did an excellent job and knew exactly the look I wanted. Highly recommend the place.

Eva Scrivo Salon is definitely the best salon in NYC! Eva is by far the most talented hairdresser I've had. She and her staff are friendly, accomodating and above all, truly professional. The quality of her cuts cannot be beat... a true artist! She takes her time and you come away feeling and looking great. I've never had so many compliments. Eva Scrivo is - by far - one of the best hair artists I have ever worked with. She basically saved my hair. When I first went there my hair was damaged, broken and painfully fragile. Over the years Eva and her team have turned it totally around. My hair is now waist length, 100% colored (most of it double processed) and in perfect health. There is not one split end or broken strand. My hair is shiny, bouncy, and beautiful. I owe it all to Eva, her staff, her techniques and the products and tools she uses. She is a true master and balayage specialist and has trained her staff well. As far as the salon itself is concerned, the flow and location is ideal and I just LOVE LOVE LOVE going there. It is with gratitude and joy that I give this salon and team 5 stars (can I give more?)

I cut my hair here several times with Stephen and I have been very happy with my cuts, I have long straight hair and he gave me a nice shape. Very professional staff and service. I also dyed my hair with Meri Kate, who did a fine job and selected a very lovely color that almost perfectly matched my hair, but it washed off much sooner than expected, within a couple of weeks, revealing my greys again. But still think this is a 5 star place.

I have been going to Eva Scrivo Salon for years. Her salon on 5th avenue is magnificent!! The level of care I get from the moment I walk in until I leave is top notch. My wife travels in from Westchester to get her cut and color from Eva Scrivo Salon. She says "there is no one that compares to level of knowledge of hair care that even comes close to Eva and her staff". In my opinion that sums it up perfectly.

I have been going to Eva Scrivo since they were on Hudson Street, almost 10 years ago. The service is great and Steven in particular has been super. Also had Eva take care of my daughter for her prom and hope to do the same for her upcoming wedding. Couldn't be happier with their service.

I never wanted to live in a hair salon. In fact, the thought never crossed my mind, until I was cared for and pampered in such a way that I was trying to figure out, how can I stay here forever?! I had the most marvelous facial experience. The facialist pampered me like I was a Queen. I'm in my 50's so, I am no virgin to facials, believe me when I tell you, this was like no other! I had no idea my skin could look so great. I then had my hair colored. I was a little hesitant to try a new colorist but she had a great recommendation so, I stepped out of my comfort zone and gave her a try. I told her the last time I went to a colorist, I left looking like Marilyn Monroe. A great look for her, but for a dark-blonde tomboy, not so much. I explained, I wanted low maintenance, I wanted to look off the charts gorgeous but, natural. Eva stopped what she was doing to check in during the consultation. She suggested we add low lights to the highlights, and explained to the colorist that I wear my hair up so the color should be applied in a specific way. We all agreed to the plan. I closed my eyes and crossed my fingers. HOLY COW! What a transformation! The color far exceeded my expectations. It is shiny and soft and healthy and natural looking with a rich depth that is indescribable. I feel beautiful again. I'm making another appointment to go back and have my hair cut and of course another facial. There are so many treatments to choose from, I seriously want to try them all. Eva Scrivo Salon is hands down, my new favorite place on earth. It's beautifully decorated and chic and comfortable and warm and friendly, and yes, I want to live there!
