I had the pleasure of having Karrington do my curly cut and color gloss, and I left with my curls feeling healthier than ever. Before cutting, Karrington took the time to learn about my hair history and goals. She also offered helpful suggestions based on her expertise. Throughout the appointment, she shared great tips for hair care, products, and maintenance. The salon’s ambiance is chic and bright, and it has such a trendy vibe that it made me forget I was in Columbus! I’m so relieved to have found a place that truly understands curly hair, especially after recently moving from out west and needing to find a reputable salon that can cut curly hair. I also appreciate the convenience of online booking—it’s a game-changer for me as a busy professional. Overall, I’m beyond pleased with my experience.

Loved my experience! Karrington did such a great job. I came in wanting a trim and to improve the shape, so I didn’t want to lose much length. She listened to what I wanted and gave good feedback about how I can simplify my hair routine to get the results I want. She didn’t make me feel bad or silly about how I’d been managing my hair..it was pretty dried out. The products they use are great, especially the NYC curls. After several disappointing cuts at different “curly” salons over the years I’m glad I booked here and I’m excited to try the new routine between now and my next appointment. Well worth the time and cost.

After following the salon for a few years, I finally booked a flight from DC for an appointment with Ashley. I had no expectations but wanted to love my hair again after I decided to cut my own bangs.... I know. First impression, the salon was in a cute location and has a nice vibe once inside. I was immediately checked in and offered a beverage while I waited (I was early). Ashley provided a great consultation as I talked about my concerns. She clearly communicated her thoughts and an action plan. I was a little nervous (you can't half step bangs) but trusted the process. By the time we were done, I'm back in love. The products used smelled great and had my hair feeling light. I will 100% return.

As someone new to the curl world, there is SO much information on how to style your curls, it so overwhelming! A big shoutout to Patty for really helping me understand my specific curls and teach me how to take care of them properly. She created a super easy follow routine that made my curls POP! I have never seen them looking so bouncy and healthy after just one haircut. Patty made me feel right at home and I was literally giggling when she took my after photo. Thank you for helping me embrace my natural hair and love it so much more!

I have been going to this salon for about 3 years now and I have never had a team so dedicated to educating their clients in styling and care of curls. I have had good cuts elsewhere, but what sets this salon above is the knowledge that the team members have to guide you in making your hair look just as good when you are styling at home. I left my first cut and style on cloud 9, amazed at how bouncy, shiny, and defined my curls were. I started my journey right away using the products that were recommended. With each cut and style Ashley teaches me more and helps me tailor my styling routine. My curls have been getting better and better with each visit and this salon has been so impactful in my curl journey!!

My daughter’s natural curly hair was EXTREMELY dried out from the products used or lack of products used and was cut way too short. The style was nothing like she asked for even with the picture shown. Her hair was much more lively when she walked in the salon verse coming out. I can’t stress how dry her hair was after the service. So bad that we have to redo her hair ourselves. Sadly she will not be back.

They advertise themselves as a curly hair salon but they actually only specialize in loose curls that are not very textured. I brought my 5 year old biracial daughter in for a trim and it was horrific. She left with completely dried out hair. My daughter has tighter coils and I wish the stylist would have just admitted to not being able to handle her curl type instead of trying to grill me on what products I put in her hair. I felt like she was gaslighting me as she knew she wouldn’t be able to do a good job on her hair. I’ve always used professional quality products on her hair as recommended by her previous stylist who relocated. She kept saying her hair was very dry (which it’s not) but then sat her under the dryer for 25 mins. They also wouldn’t let me stay back with her and I had to sit in the front which I thought was strange too as I’ve always accompanied her at her previous salon since she’s so young. $200 completely wasted because I had to go redo her hair as soon as we got home. Never again. I’m attaching a photo of how the stylist did to her hair and what her hair looks like when I do it. The Purple Heart photo is what they did and the green heart is how her hair normally looks when I do it. So maybe only go here if you have looser curls because their techniques are not it.

Was able to get a last minute appointment on their website for the next day. Destiny was amazing and helped my husband figure out how to manage his curly hair. His cut came out beautifully and she was very patient in helping answer his questions. Loved the results, this is our new place!

CURLIES BEWARE! This salon does offer high quality curly hair styling and services. I booked one appointment and loved it. After my first appointment I booked a second for a few months later. However, the morning of my appointment, I woke up with a slightly scratchy throat. I thought it was likely allergies, but wanting to be cautious and conscientious, I texted the salon to let them know how I was feeling and asked if I would be charged for rescheduling or if I should just come in and wear a mask. The salon responded by charging me for the full service (over $200) and cancelling my appointment (no rescheduling). I texted back and forth with them for a while. They apologized, but said it was their policy. I explained that as the morning had gone on, my throat had cleared up and I believed it was just allergies. I said I felt well enough to come in but said I would still wear a mask for good measure. They responded that my appointment had been cancelled and could not be reinstated. If I wanted to rebook, I’d need to go back to their website and book the next available appointment (months out) and pay the full amount all over again. I understand that it’s difficult to be in their industry and that people cancelling is an inconvenience and potential loss for them, however it’s also not fair to their clients to take their hard earned money and not provide any service. There’s got to be some compromise like charging a rescheduling fee or something, but don’t charge for a full $200 worth of services that you won’t be providing. I never write bad reviews. I try to give people grace and the benefit of the doubt, but to say that I feel completely scammed right now is an understatement. I would not recommend this salon to anyone. It’s not worth the risk. They don’t offer any grace or compromise to their clients and they come across as being only in it to make money whether it’s ethical or not. If you do book with them, just know that if you have an illness, emergency, or unplanned conflict and have to cancel within 24hrs of the appointment, you will be charged the full amount of your service and you will be pushed to the back of the line to rebook at full price.

RUDE. They do a good job but are RUDE. They cancelled my appt at 748pm due to a stylist being sick - which I get, it happens. They wanted me to wait 6 months for another appt when I've had this one scheduled for 8 months. I tried to understand why I had to wait 6 months when they were the ones who cancelled it & was told I was being rude and to find another salon. REALLY?

Evan Joseph Salon has been on my radar for quite a few months now, after seeing it recommended by others on social media for curly haircuts. On Monday I saw an appointment was available for today and so I finally took the plunge and booked it. So happy I did! I don't think I've ever seen my hair this curly. This was my first curly-haired specific cut, and Destiny did an amazing job, not only cutting and styling my hair, but also explaining the cleansing/styling process as she went. I've used lathering shampoos/heavy conditioners for most of my life, so my curls definitely need some time to heal and rehydrate, but even after just one session with Destiny, they look SO much healthier. I'm most impressed with the fact that I walked away with more than just one really good hair day, but the knowledge, tools, confidence and motivation (like I said, a really good hair day!) to heal my curls back to health. Excited to see where this journey takes my hair, and will definitely be booking with EJS exclusively for my salon needs going forward!

Evan Joseph Salon is AMAZING! I've always had trouble finding a good stylist to work with my curls. They ask you about your hair, how you style it, what you want, and really get to know you before doing anything. The products they use and sell are great, my hair has never been healthier! If you want to take care of your curls, this is the place to go! Destiny was my stylist and I absolutely loved her. She was very personable, friendly, and really took her time on my hair. Can't wait to see her again!

My curls needed some love and to be rejuvenated and Olivia was amazing knew what she was doing very knowledgeable and relatable super sweet very good at her job! Went in there for a follow up and Olivia was not there Jason I believe came to the counter and was completely rude and unwelcoming while going to the back to tell my stylist I was there he said something along the lines if your going to continue coming to the salon you need to do what was told I just left I paid 300$ last time I was there but I refuse to be treated that way and the fact that he takes away from other employees is also sad he should find another job if he doesn’t like his.

Unfortunately, I lost all respect for a salon I once valued as a dedicated customer for over 2 years. I had never been late or missed an appointment. I had a bad experience with canceling a service during the height of the global pandemic. The owner Evan as well as stylist Cheyenne charged me $150.00 for a service that I canceled within 24 hours of receiving a reminder text message regarding the appointment. I was told I was charged because it was not within 48 hours. First, I didn’t know the salon was back open for service. Second, I reached out personally by phone regarding the cancellation and rescheduling and was never informed that I would be receiving a fee for the service. Third, when the salon initially closed I never received notification that my prior appointment had been canceled by the salon. The agent on the phone was highly unprofessional and I was told if I didn’t like the policy it was too bad and there was no need to book services with the salon and hung up and I also received a text message with similar messaging. Subsequently, I canceled all appointments for the remainder of the year. I will never be able to patronize this establishment ever again and will not recommend others based on this experience. To top it off Cheyenne wasn’t even my original stylist, I just happened to book with her because I had to rearrange another appointment time. To try to game profits during such a unprecedented time is tasteless and lacks empathy or tact. It’s obvious someone needed the money more than me, is the only silver lining here.

Very cool little salon with a nice vibe and atmosphere. Jason was very nice and knowledge and really took his time with my hair. If you're a curly girl or guy I would highly recommend them...they know their stuff.
