I’m both excited and nervous about whether the hairstylist will be good or not. The good part is that the color turned out nice, the salon itself is great, and the hairstylist, who is also the owner, has both good and bad qualities. She was okay and constantly checked with me about the color, style, and length. I appreciated how gently she brushed my hair, even from the shampoo and conditioner stage. However, she had long nails, which made my scalp feel a little uncomfortable. The biggest issue was the price. There is a deposit, and when it was time to pay, she charged me more than we had agreed on, saying the color and style required extra work. It was a mix of experience, plus she’s running for her girls night out, so I’m not sure if I’ll go back.

I love love my balayage from Jenny at Evolv. She’s so patient and talented. I have been loving my summer blonde. She’s really good at coppers too. I’m going to try that in the fall!

I was absolutely thrilled with my keratin treatment done by Jenny! From the moment I stepped in, the ambiance was warm and inviting. The treatment itself was a dream – my stylist worked wonders, leaving my hair silky smooth and frizz-free. Weeks later, and my hair still looks incredible! I went back a few weeks later for a trim and style and was again blown away by Jenny's work!

Lovely spot in PB with lots of natural lighting and filled with green plants! Had the best appointment with Brooke. Brooke gave me the hair of my DREAMS! I was in last month to have my blonde touched up by her and we talked about doing a dark purple that faded into a lighter purple. I didn’t give her any reference photos and she just KNEW what my hair should look like. Our appointment went long, so she got some hummus and pita chips from the farmers market and we had a perfect afternoon snack while my color was processing. (No hangry clients here!) Brooke gave me some long curtain bangs with some face framing and it was PERFECT. She styled my hair afterwards and I was in love with my hair so much that I could not stop looking at it in the mirror! I am definitely coming back for more crazy colors and blonde touch-ups with Brooke! THANK YOU SO MUCH BROOKE! 💜

Veronica did such an amazing job on my hair! I haven’t gotten my hair done in a little over a year. I have been skeptical to go to anyone after my last experience trying someone new in San Diego. I gave Veronica a chance and she left me speechless! She gave me what I wanted and more❤️ Definitely will be going back to her!

Angel is simply the best! I went in not knowing exactly what I wanted, but boy did he deliver!! I love my blonde and its blended to perfection! He was fun, energetic, and educated me on how to to care for my hair properly. Can't wait for next appointment!

Had a great experience with my client Jen. I did a demo for a stylist position which I thought went well but never got a call back or any feed back from the owner so I'm guessing I wasn't a right fit. But no hard feelings everything happened for a reason. A call back for feed back would have been appreciated.

I don’t understand the logic of having a salon notify you that if you are late to your appointment they will take your $50 deposit. I made sure I was on time for my appointment, yet they made me wait for 21 minutes with no communication, as to when I would be seated. Time is something that should always be factored into customer service. I don’t care how great your ascetic is, if you don’t value your customers time or communicate effectively, it’s a no for me. The manager of the Salon did contact me to apologize, unfortunately justifying why I was made to sit for 20 min without communication, isn’t smart business. Maybe just keep it simple and agree it was a mistake and offer another chance to come into the Salon. I don’t need a full run down of why someone went on lunch, I am quite aware of CA labor laws.

I went here after a horrible experience with another salon and Tyler saved the day! She was so sweet, efficient and for some reason I trusted her from the second I saw her (probably had something to do with the girl in Tyler’s chair before me walking out with gorgeous hair). Book Tyler only if you want to guarantee loving your hair when you walk out. She did such a great job fixing my botched balayage and my only regret is not going to her first. I’ll definitely be back (:

If you are looking for the BEST hair stylist/colorist you need to come see Nicole Fikes! When I say I was blown away with my results I truly was. Nicole is an artist and her attention to detail along with perfectionism, provided me with gorgeous hair! I NEED to mention, she has the kindest soul and she's great with conversations! I’m normally not the type of person to write reviews but I went to this salon a few months ago and it was the worst haircut I’ve ever had. They put me with a different girl than I requested and The girl who I was with was nice but did a really bad job on my hair. It was uneven and choppy everywhere, the worst part was the right side of my hair was significantly longer than the left. I really don’t understand how she let me leave the salon looking like that. I considered going back to get it fixed but I felt awkward about it. I spent a lot of money here and it was definitely wasted. I ended up going to a different salon and they fixed it as much as they could. I hope no one else has as bad of an experience as I did here!

This place was pretty good!! It was a major change to my hair after only (badly) cutting it myself for two years and one I don't regret. My lovely hairdresser completely fixed my botched hair and I feel so confident now!

Good place if you have long hair but can't handle short hair. They don't even have the tools to deal with short hair or the knowledge and experience. I was very disappointed and felt it was a total waste of money. Jeanne Have

Had such a good time here! The vibe and look of this Salon is so welcoming. I got my hair cut by Angel, and his personality matches his name! He was so sweet and not to mention amazing at what he does! Have never had my hair styled better! Highly recommend!

I found this salon through a friend. The salon is very clean and has a cozy, earthy feel to it. There are plants and wood aspect every where. I cane here to get my hair cut and colored. I felt right at home and the staff was extremely professional and friendly. I highly recommend them evolv salon.

I had a hair emergency the other day and Jenny the owner somehow squeezed me in to their schedule and saved the day. Thank you Jenny! The salon it’s self is super cozy and friendly. There are plants everywhere and it’s super eco friendly. I had a balayage and a hair cut done, it has to be one of the best color jobs I have ever had. The stylist was very professional and took her time explaining to me exactly the steps we needed to take to help my hair and get me as close as we could to my inspo pic. I’m happy I found this salon and I will be back in a few months for a touch up.

I had the best first time experience here! I had a cut and color appt with Katelyn and my hair looks and feels soooo much better! I was hesitant to try somewhere new but the salon was great, super welcoming, and I left with great hair! So relieved and excited to make this my new hair salon.

I recently had my highlights done by Lauren and she is literally a goddess with blondes! I have been in and out of several salons with stylists who can’t get exactly what I want, but she did! I’m sure the other stylists at Evolv are great as well. I HIGHLY recommend seeing Lauren for highlights. New fave salon in SD!!

This was my first time in San Diego and I wanted to do my hair for my birthday night. I tried to book a few other places through Instagram (you know to see their work first, you don’t want to mess with the blond hair with someone you don’t know. I had really bad experience doing that in the past), but no one would take me the same day. Luckily my husband said he would drive me to the area where hair salons are and maybe I could find someone there. OMG that was the best decision in my life. They took me right away and Amelia did an amazing job. She was the most gentle hair dresser I’ve ever met. Ladies who have long hair and doing highlights you know exactly how it feels when they remove that foil after bleaching ha-ha, but Amelia , I swear she was some kind of GURU. Very gentle, fast, professional and she is also a great listener. She did everything exactly the way I wanted. The fact that I came in with a chicken nest on my head and left as a super model says a lot about this place. I wish I could take Amelia back to Florida with me! So ladies, if you are local or visiting just like me I highly recommend this place!!!! They know what they do and they are absolutely amazing at their job!!!!

Very unprofessional Salon. I am pregnant and have my baby shower coming up. They just enforced this week that you have to put down a deposit for services. Its Wednesday, today they cancelled my appt for Saturday not even a full week away. I made my appt 3 weeks ago and they are just now telling me I need to pay a deposit. If they said that 3 weeks ago I would have paid but I literally get paid Friday and they said they couldn’t hold my appt. I’m sorry Andrea I would have loved to have my near $400 appt with an upwards of $70 for tip but this Salon took that option away last minute. They said it’s for your safety. If I knew they were going to be this way I would have scheduled elsewhere now I have to try to find someone to do my hair with a weeks notice before my baby shower. Absolutely unprofessional. Ariel you were nice thanks for the customer service it’s unfortunate they put you in the position to speak to customers instead of the owner who poorly implemented a new policy. I have a super tight, most of us who work full time do, it’s not right to mess with people’s appts and schedules. I’m posting the screenshots of the updates because this could have been so simple, the owner usually apologizes on reviews but not this lady she is not empathetic at all though she is trying hard to seem like it. I did not cancel same day. See screenshots, what does an owner of an establishment get out of lying when they have paper trails.

Went in last week to get a blonde balayage and a haircut and Veronica was amazing! She absolutely killed it and was SO kind. Highly highly recommend her :) The salon was beautiful and super clean, too!
