Delaney is an amazing nail artist. I have been a client for 2 years, and would never go anywhere else. She is talented, kind, and one of my favourite people. The salon itself is a wonderful and inclusive environment, and I look forward to my appointments.

AMAZING hair salon, I have been going to this salon for YEARS! I don't trust anyone other than my stylist at this salon to touch my hair and my daughters hair. I've gone from natural dark hair, to having green and purple, and then going back to natural. I've also had many hair cuts as well. So easy to schedule, awesome atmosphere of ladies and just all around a good time being around these women. The area has come a long way, and neat way to have a day out at the salon and area to check out other local businesses.

I’ve been going to explicit for close to 3 years now and there’s nowhere else I’d go. Let me say first the atmosphere is absolutely wonderful. Very welcoming, fun, energetic, professional, and kind. Every person there (Kenzie, Justine, Ali, Rae, Haley) are fun professionals who specialize in their own things, and know how to treat you like their own friend that’s in the chair. A super safe space and every appointment is a treat. I’ve been going to Justine exclusively even before she was at this salon and she delivers every time. Although I’m not a curly haired client she shapes up my hair/fade exactly how I want it, which is different every time hahah. I love this salon and they deserve well beyond five stars.

I recently got a curly haircut from Justine, and I couldn’t be more thrilled with the results! She made the entire experience incredibly comfortable. She took the time to listen to my wants and making sure I felt heard throughout the process. The cut itself turned out beautifully! My curls have more definition, bounce, and volume than ever before. I’m beyond happy with how my hair looks, and I truly appreciate how Justine combined her skill with a personalized touch to make the whole experience stress-free and enjoyable. Highly recommend her if you're looking for someone who truly understands curly hair!

Visited Kenzie pre-pandemic as a transplant to Charlotte then discovered my curls during quarantine and was so lucky eXplicit had a curly hair expert on staff - been seeing Justine for my curls for a couple years now and it's been wonderful! Recently visited Delaney as well for a wonderful artistic set of gel nails! Can't recommend this place enough!

Amazing group of people there! I’ve visited both Kenzie and Ali for hair services and worked with Rae as well - all are simply the most beautiful and kind hearted humans, not to mention AMAZING at what they do. My color has always been more than I could ask for & it’s a super fun little space! Highly recommend!

Beautiful space with a fun and friendly environment. I've booked with Delaney for my nails and genuinely cannot put into words just how talented she is. She's a true artist and her retention is amazing! The stylists here are also very sweet and so talented at what they do. I am always so impressed with the level of artistry each of the girls display here. I highly recommend!

Been going here for years and I love it! The salon is so cute and the atmosphere is fun. You can chat with the other stylists and clients, read a book, doom scroll, or whatever. They’ll throw a cap on you if you want to walk around Camp North End in your hair dye and cape. I have normal, long hair and get fashion color. I get so many compliments on my hair all the time plus I love it! Kenzie and Ali are who have done my hair but I’ve seen amazing cuts and colors from all of them.

Explicit Salon has such a great, fun and inclusive atmosphere. Rae is the absolute best!! I always look forward to my next appointment with them and leave feeling my best self! Explicit is one of the best salons in Charlotte! All of the stylists are talented and create an inclusive, fun atmosphere. I have gotten my hair cut and colored by both Kenzie and Rae. They both are amazing and have made my hair dreams come true. Delaney is also amazing and always impresses me with her design skills on my nails. Couldn’t recommend them enough!

I can’t say enough good things about Rae! I’ve been seeing them for the past seven months for both cut and color, and every visit has been an amazing experience. Rae is incredibly talented—they give me the best haircuts I’ve ever had and consistently make my hair look even better than I imagined. What really sets Rae apart is the care they put into every appointment. They always sit down with me before we start to confirm exactly what I want, making sure every detail is covered. That extra thoughtfulness, combined with their creativity and skill, makes every session a standout. On top of that, Rae creates such a welcoming and inclusive environment. I love it hereeeee! The wash station is magical, there’s a mini library, it’s in a great location, and the service and attention to detail and love that you get just makes eXplicit different. I see Rae at Explicit Salon and I absolutley love them!!! They nail it every single time with my hair. The salon is spotless and has a very fun vibe. It doesn’t feel like regular salons and that’s one of the reasons I love it so much. It’s relaxed, fun and everyone is always so friendly!!!

I’m moved to Charlotte about 7 year ago now and I’ve tried a few salons but they were always the same. Explicit provides an uplifting spirit, an inclusive environment, and a place to feel your best self! Justine is my stylist! She can do many things! For me, she is a curly hair guru! She helps me build confidence in styling my curly hair and she does an amazing job coloring it! I adore this place and have now been going for over 4 years! I’ve been getting my hair cut by Justine for 2+ years now am incredibly happy that I made the first appt! I had been searching for a hair stylist for so long to embrace my curls/waves. Justine is so good at talking you through the service and asking you want you want while also using her expertise to let you know what will work with your type of hair. I used to not look forward to haircuts because I knew it wouldn’t turn out like I wanted (either too much taken off or just not it), but with Justine, haircut days are true pamper myself kinda days now that I truly look forward to!

I’ve been seeing Ali for over 10 years, and Explicit Salon is hands-down the best! The space is so cute and comfortable, with a stunning flower ceiling over the wash stations that makes it feel extra special. I love that it’s a woman-owned small business—they really care about every little detail and make you feel right at home. Whether it’s a cut, color, or styling, they always nail it. Highly recommend!

Rae at eXplicit Salon has always made my hair so beautiful! She listens to my vision for hair and always execute flawlessly. I have gotten hairstyling, haircuts and bang trims with her and they always turn out great. The salon is cute and in a fun area. Love this salon and those who work there!

This is the best and coolest salon out there and I am not just saying that cause my wife works there. Rae started cutting my hair almost a decade ago (also how we met) and now 100+ cuts later and they are still delivering amazing and affirming results! I can’t promise you a relationship out of it but I can promise you a service you won’t retreat. I get my nails done by Delaney (voted the best nail artist in Charlotte) and she is so good with short nails! I never feel like design is sacrificed even with a smaller surface area to work with. I don’t know how she does it but she crushes it every time! The salon vibes are absolutely magical and people who work there make it so!

While I am not currently an active client, I used to get my hair done by Kenzie for around a decade. I followed her from her first salon all the way to her opening eXplicit. I never left her chair disappointed and she constantly made my hair dreams come true. She has a way of making you feel comfortable in her chair and is a pro at her execution. The salon is super cute and has a very welcoming and fun atmosphere. I can’t speak for the other stylists in the salon, but if they work with Kenzie then I am sure they are phenomenal.
