Stylists at Fantastic Sams have been cutting my hair monthly for 25+ years since this west Cary location opened- always a terrific experience! Consistently quick, clean, professional, perfect haircuts for a value price. My Tues-Thu Men's Day walk-in for a monthly military cut prior to USCG Reserve duty is now by appointment post-COVID-19, but haircuts are still superb! THANKS to Mgr Heather, Hope, Renate, Amanda, Vicki, and all the great FS stylists!

My sister and I came here for very basic haircuts and had horrible experiences. We have wavy/curly hair and when booking the appointment, the receptionist confirmed that all the stylists deal with wavy/curly hair. Both of us asked for a very short trim and ended up losing 4-5 inches. My sister requested curtain bangs and face framing pieces and they were cut way too short and extremely choppy (picture attached). My face framing pieces were uneven in length, and when I pointed it out to the stylist, she tried convincing me that it was my baby hairs making one side shorter, when it was clearly a curl she cut too short. The layers on both of us were also very uneven and choppy. Overall, the stylist seemed to have zero experience cutting hair, let alone wavy/curly hair. I had emphasized multiple times that I wanted to retain as much length as possible and only wanted a short trim, but she clearly couldn’t understand that once the wet hair was dry, my hair would shrink up and lose length. We had to pay for our services just to come home and fix it ourselves. I would not recommend coming here.

Hope did a great job of cutting my hair and seemed quite friendly and didn't mind that I didn't want to chit chat during the haircut due to my social anxiety. Some stylists take this personally and think I am some kind of freak or something because I don't enjoy talking much but she didn't seem to mind. I will definitely come back here for future haircuts. Been coming here since 2012 or for the past 5 1/2 years. Stylists are very understanding and do a great job. Took one star off since price is a dollar cheaper at the other Fantastic Sams in Morrisville but this one provides better service so it is worth the premium price. :) Update (Sat, 11/10/18)- upgrading to 5 stars from 4 since the service was beyond excellent and everyone was friendly and pleasant and seemed to value me as a customer. I highly recommend this Fantastic Sams and I really hope that the management in the future doesn't change for the negative. Update (Sun, 9/8/19)- not sure of the negative reviews but for me very friendly staff who know me by name and an exceptionally nice store manager who always greets me & smiles each time I come in. Can't ask for much more in a discount salon. Thank you so much! :) 6 stars. Update (Fri, 10/27/23)—best go to salon in the country and everyone here is so nice and friendly and welcoming. Great prices also on a clipper cut and color and come for one every 4 weeks when the weather is warmer and 5 weeks when cooler. Keep up the excellent work!! :) Update (3/18/24)—really long wait for a full hour sitting in the back so it would’ve been nice if staff actually communicated that it would take that long before I got my haircut and color. Will give them another chance though but need to remove 1 star because of this negative experience. Update (4/19/24)--excellent experience and upgrading to 5 stars and hope it will stay at 5 stars. :) Update (1/1/25)— always have an excellent experience here and Renate always does an excellent job. :)

Not happy that the new owners raised the Tuesday and Thursday discount price from $16.95 to 18.95 not a way to treat a loyal customer however, a great way to lose customers. Not good business practices!

Renate is my usual stylist and is extremely attentive, professional and does my color, cut and style, all to perfection and within an hour. Hope and Reina have also done my hair and I was always pleased with the end results.

As a newcomer to the area, I needed to find a new colorist who could closely match the color of my hair. The color I had been using was discontinued. Since I have experienced several hair color mishaps over the years, I was very apprehensive. I no longer have any concerns. Vicki, the manager of the salon, colored my hair and made me a very relieved and happy client. This is now my salon.🤗

When I moved to Cary, I found Cornerstone Fantastic Sams! I was greeted by the nicest lady with a great smile. She put me at ease and then the professional took over and wrote down exactly what I asked for. It took no time at all. She captured what I wanted and with an incite to what won't work. Her name is HOPE and she is the Asst. Manager. One of this world's kindest people I know. Because I have known her for 7 yrs!
