Maria did a fantastic job! I brought a picture and she gave me exactly what I wanted, which involved cutting roughly 6-8 inches off my hair! She was gentle and kind and asked for feedback at a certain point to get the length right, and seemed very experienced. Also gave me the cutest little curtain bangs. Walked out feeling like a new woman! Thanks Maria!

I came is last minute like 10 minutes before closing for a haircut and they took great care of me. They even stayed a bit late to make sure I was taken care of and happy with my cut. I don’t remember the name of the young lady who cut my hair but she did a fantastic job.

I've visited Santa Barbara for lenghty periods since April 2022 to assist with my mother's care....and her haircuts (along with mine!). On each occasion, Audrey super professionally and amicably managed cccccccccccwith my VERY challenging 91 year-old mother with dementia....and provided superb cuts for my mother and myself.....even if she was uncertain about my newly-fashioned mullet! I'll be back in May next year and we'll most definitely be checking in with Audrey again!

It’s not a place for natural hair, even though they’ll swear up and down that they can handle it. Spoiler alert: they absolutely cannot. I’m not even sure they have the right products, let alone the magical skills required. I went in for a perm—specifically loose curls—because my thick 4C hair could use a little help, and let’s be honest, I’ve always dreamed of having loose curls. I asked if they could manage my hair type, and of course, they confidently said yes. But I walked out looking almost exactly the same, only worse. Now I have mats in my hair because, surprise surprise, she didn’t even try. Here’s a tip: if you don’t know how to work with my hair, maybe don’t do a lazy job just to finish faster. And yes, I take some of the blame because I should have stopped the moment I realized the person doing my hair had clearly never seen 4C hair before in her life. I really should have stopped. And let’s not forget, a perm is supposed to be a strong treatment, right? Well, it barely did anything except gift me a bunch of mats thanks to her stellar work with the rods and all. She just washed my hair with, I don’t know, shampoo (I think?) and then dove straight into the rods, which, correct me if I’m wrong, isn’t how this is supposed to work. She didn’t even comb my hair. You can’t skip steps with Black hair because you’re in a hurry. But hey, I guess she didn’t get that memo. When it was time to pay, they had two questions: was I happy with the results, and did it meet my expectations? But instead of circling “yes” or “no” like a normal person, I somehow managed to circle “or.” Yes, you read that right—“or.” The same lady who butchered my hair was also handling my payment, and I didn’t even realize she was watching me circle those “or”s. She asked if I meant “yes” (because, of course, that’s what she wanted to hear), but after the day I’d had, and with my hair looking like a rat’s nest, I just said “no” and went back to make sure I circled “no” on both questions so there’d be no more confusion. And yes, I still tipped her because the people there were nice—just not truthful.

Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had. The stylist didn't even listen to me and literally started shaving my head - she didn't know what a disconnected style was and shaved part of the top of my head...then had to have another stylist come over to correct it as best as possible. $29 gone, I had to come home and finish it myself. DO NOT TAKE YOUR EYES OFF WHAT THEY'RE DOING FOR EVEN A SECOND IF YOU GO HERE - or better yet don't go at all, it ruined the good day I was having.

I came from out of town for a wedding in Santa Barbara. I had no idea about the quality of the salon. I booked for toner, hair trim and style. Toner was fine. Haircut horrible she chopped my hair .. they are uneven with more layers than before. I guess that’s what happens when you cut hair in 5 min. Last but not least the style. She started doing an updo that didn’t look good on me so I kindly asked her to please just blow dry my hair straight and do some loose curls. The lady had no clue how to blow dry hair or use a curling iron, the only thing she knew to do was how to apply hair spray. I wasted $130 plus tip. Went home rewashed/restyled my hair. Now I’m left with horrible haircut and have to wait 6 plus months for them to grow and even out. What upsets me is this …why advertise that you do hair updos/styles if your employees don’t know how to do updos, how to blow dry or style the hair. Honestly very low quality service, should have never booked. Don’t waste your time or money here. Add on note: I emailed them per the reply’s instructions where she says she would like to discuss it further. It’s been a month since I emailed them and no reply. So much for their “we take feedback seriously”

My hair was not cut evenly. She only cut the sides and that was even. She did not cut the back and trim it and did not layer it like I asked to have done. It is now short and cannot be fixed now without going even shorter. I will wait for it to go grow some before getting another haircut.

Audrey moved from the Calle Real Salon and we followed her to Cliff Dr. My grandsons are at the age where they are particular with their haircuts. Audrey communicates well with them and gives them exactly what they want, even if I don't agree. They're happy and so am I at the reasonable prices.

Cheryl is the consummate professional. She asked questions to determine my preferences and checked to make sure I was satisfied with the results and her work. She does the same when doing make-up for brides to ensure that she achieves the look they wanted. I highly recommend her.

I always get my hair cut at Fantastic Sams Cliff Drive. I have been coming here for awhile. I recently got my hair cut from Paula. She did a good job fixing my hair. I really like it.

Just needed a 3 inch trim. I was taken right in time by a very nice stylist, she did a efficient and professional job. Overall a very positive experience. I’m sorry I forgot her name, it starts with an N and she has been working there for awhile so I’m hopeful she will still be there for my next trim!

I used to get $40 haircuts. Now they are only $20. Im just as happy here as I have been at numerous barber shops in town. Only here its about half the total time in the chair, maybe less AND I dont need to book an appointment. All the ladies have been good here, and friendly.
