My mother took my daughter to this shop to get her hair braided. I called and made the appointment and let Fatou know what hairstyle my daughter wanted, over the phone she said $160 once my daughter got in the shop and she started my daughter hair she said it’s gonna be $20 more because her hair is thick and I have to do her twist small for them to look neat 😂😂🤦🏽‍♀️. My daughter got up to go to the bathroom she gone say she need 20 more now the total for my 11 year old hair is 200 my daughter had her hair done for two weeks you can’t see none of her parts it’s fuzzy at the top like she had her hair done for a month. Long story short don’t go to this shop she don’t care about her clients she just want your money

I scheduled an appointment with Fatou sent a photo screenshot of what I wanted. I requested knotless braids instead I got knotted. Will not return and was planning on taking my daughters. Nope will not waste no more of my money.

they told me come at 1 when i come there it’s not spots open they still doing hair why yall tell me to come at 1 if yall still had ppl i said i wanted medium size 2 strand twist i showed them a pic and everything they keep giving me small they wash and blow dried my hair but it wasn’t even fully comb and they still wanted me to pay for it im not paying for something that not good and them flies yall need to get yall store in check fr and listen

They do good hair, but they need to really improve on their customer service because I told them that I needed to be done in a certain amount of time and the lady who was doing my hair assured me that she would be done in that certain amount of time But that was a lie because when she got to the top of my head, it felt like she barely was almost done and then made me pay her before she finished she took longer than what I asked her to and then she gave me an attitude and continue to talk about me in the shop in their native language that they didn’t think I could understand and a lot of people in the shop have VERY TERRIBLE ATTITUDES!!!

I been here since 10 am made an appointment ppl with longer thicker hair done came and gone ppl that came after me are leaving now I got 10 minutes worth of hair amd Im atill here at 7pm smh and the prices are outrageous Also last mother's day her worker did half my head and charged me full price fatou said she will refund me now I called and she lying saying she not on Erie Ave no more of my business 💆🏾‍♀️✌️

I was done in about 5-6 hours. Just in time to pick up my kids from school. The quality was really good, the length and price was affordable. I definitely will be going again this month before my beach trip and be looking fresh for school in August! Thank you Fatou for doing my twists, long small Senegalese Twists

I wouldn’t even call you professional I reached out asking about setting up an appointment and that my child didn’t have school that day and if they could attend with me. I was never texted back and took my business elsewhere. 🥹 I’ll definitely say they will text you back and play around.

BAD experience!!! I was suppose to get my hair styled in two strand twist but the owner told me to come at 9:00am but didn’t plan on starting my hair until 10:40am she had someone in the chair already getting box braids. I refused to sit and wait extra hours then she said she needed to wash my hair when it already was clean. I washed my hair before leaving my house. The Owner made too many excuses DON’T go here!!! Bad service!!

Fatou the owner is very friendly and kind. The shop is clean, organized and very client friendly. This was my first time coming to this shop, but it certanly won't be my last. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my twists.

I asked for knotless bohemian braids in a bob along with a picture and I got a head full of 3 different kinds of hair. Curly hair on each braids I look like a darn poodle and when I told fatou she didn't even care. She said that's what I wanted and it looked nothing like the picture I showed her. And she was running her mouth on the phone the whole time she was braiding my hair so when I was telling her my hair looks to puffy and she was only inthe back she ignored. Then there's hair sticking out all over my braids in 2 different textures. She lied saying she knew how to do these braids and it seemd to me it was her first time cause she put too much hair in each braid that i looked like a poodle by the time it was done and tried to tell me thats what i asked for. Like im so madd i want to fight. Don't waste your money here if you want a style in your braids or someone talking in your ear for 6 hours.

I liked my individuals at first but it's only been a week and the hair is pulling the front layer of my hair out because she put too much extension hair on a little piece of my natural hair causing it to weigh down on my hair and break it off. My hair is also already fuzzing out of my braids and I've tried a scarf on my head every night since I've had them in, that means she didn't blend my hair in tight enough with the extension hair as she was braiding it down. That was my first and it will be my last time visiting this African Braiding shop.

DO NOT GO HERE!!! The Owner (Fatou) is so RUDE with a nasty attitude. She told me to come at 9, she didn’t show up until 10 and didn’t start my hair until 2!! If you ask her to fix something she gives you an attitude. Beware, they ask you to pay before your hair is finished. I refused because some of the braids were frizzy and a mess and she didn’t want to fix them. Due to that, I did not pay yet and she CUT MY BRAIDS OUT that were already done.. all because I asked her to fix a couple braids before paying. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

The owner always does my hair. she will let you know honestly if your hair can withhold a style due to the weight or the hair being added or not. She will not just do a style just to make the money. Very kind and very fast. They are faster than any other. AND they do not stand overtop of you holding loud conversations as the ones I have visited on N 5th street.

Will not be going back here again... I called to being my two daughters there at 9, the owner said that was a good time til I left my house then she calls me back and ask me to come at 9:30 ok fine.. ... My girls wanted box braids. .. The older one who is 15 was 140 and my youngest who's 11,130.... I leave to go to another store my daughter called 3hours later and say both is going be 140.... After she started, I go back and both of my girls have individuals. She tells the box braids won't last, and the price change because she's big for her age. Never again
