Can’t say enough great things about fern house. Such a cute salon and incredible stylists. I moved farther away and will still drive in because I love it that much! I’ve had my hair done by Cortney and Shelly and it’s been excellent each time.

I love this salon! The ambiance is calm and relaxing. Cortney does amazing things with my hair - balayage and blonding. I trust her to do anything with my hair and I know it will look great. Every time I walk through the doors, I walk out feeling amazing!

Mark is an incredible colorist. It’s been over 10 years that he’s been doing my hair and he always keeps it fresh with an eye for what looks best with my personal style. Can’t recommend him enough!

Have always passed by this place living in Plaza without realizing it was a real hair salon because the outdoor is a quaint beautiful little home. I finally looked up hair salons near me and decided to try them out and loved it! Miranda did a partial highlight and cut for me and listened to everything I wanted and filled in the blanks when I didn’t know what I wanted. Loved the feel of a small home salon with beautiful decor in the heart of plaza without the overwhelming salon vibes. 100/10 would recommend over the big salons in the area!

Miranda is amazing! She always does exactly what I am looking for and more. Probably have had her do my hair 5 or 6 times so far and I’m always blown away. I’ll come to her with a vague idea of what I think I want, and she knocks it out of the park every time. I’ve gone both lighter, dark and fashion colors w Miranda. Can’t go wrong

CURLY HAIR people: DON’T come here! I saw online that some of the hair dressers “specialized in curly hair”. I needed layers & shaping, but instead I got frizz because they thinned out my hair & there was no change in the length/layers. The thinning technique really doesn’t work for curly hair so not sure why they’re doing it. This cut came out to $75 before tip & made my hair look worse. I give 2 stars because the place was clean and the workers were very nice. But I need to help my fellow curly haired people - go elsewhere!

I had a great first time experience at Fern House Salon with my talented hairstylist Ashlin today. I appreciated how friendly and professional she presented herself, and the service was very efficient. The salon features complimentary parking, a calming environment with great music and decor, and is in a great location. Ashlin delivered the perfect look for me that best fit my lifestyle and face shape, and I’m excited to return to this salon again in the future.

I just moved to Charlotte and was looking for the perfect hair salon. I am so glad I chose Fern House Salon. I just had my first appt there with Ashlin. I haven’t had my hair cut or colored in 6 months. Ashlin completely brought it back to life. I showed her a few pictures and she delivered exactly what I asked for. She started with a dry cut, then balayage and tone to add dimension, and finished by adding long layers and styling it with loose curls. She is definitely a perfectionist. I am so happy with the results and I can’t wait for my next appointment! (Before and after photos attached)

I moved here from Germany and Ashlin gave me a beautiful first haircut in Charlotte! She was super nice, friendly, professional and made every wish come true. I will definitely come back. For the price, the beautiful location and the perfect service - I would recommend it to everyone!

Christina and the team at Fern House Salon are top notch! From a warm welcome, to getting you comfortably seated in a freshly sanitized space, it is a wonderful experience start to finish. The hair wash bowl is my favorite…no more sore neck or bruised back of the head from the older style bowls. It is a comfortable, relaxing and rejuvenating wash before a thorough blow out and final smoothing/styling before heading out. My color and hair health have never been better (I’m a loyal customer since prior to doors opening). I can’t say enough about this wonderful gem on Central…try it and I’m confident you’ll agree! Thanks Christina for always making me look and feel my best!

I love Fern House Salon. It is the cutest little house right in the middle of Plaza Midwood. It has the most relaxing and welcoming environment. Everyone is friendly, down to earth and so incredibly talented. I have been seeing Cortney for years and I do not trust anyone else with my hair!!

I have been in Cortney’s chair since I first moved to Charlotte in 2016. She has always taken amazing care of my hair - taking it from dark brown to gorgeous blonde and back to brunette with depth and dimension. My husband and I are both loyal to Cortney and would follow her anywhere. Her home at Fern House is inviting, welcoming, and clean.
