I found this salon when I did my big chop in 2018. Since then I’ve come back and had cuts with different stylist. Most recently I booked with Hajir on New Year’s Eve. Hajir understood exactly what I was looking for and was extremely efficient with the appointment. I had to run errands right after then rush to a party (all in the rain) and my hair kept up somehow looking better and better as the night went on. I receive endless compliments and even a month later I keep getting asked where I get my hair done. Can’t wait for my next appointment! ❤️✨

Had my hair hacked by the stylist. The salon offered to fix it, but it is so bad, I have zero remaining faith in the salon. I requested longer layers as to keep my length, yet somehow ended up with rat tails on the sides of my head and 4 inches off the length. Salon also states that they have an ‘All sales final‘ policy, even when they are at fault, but there is zero mention of it for services on the website. The stylist is a sweet and nice person, but that does not make up for the damage done.

Awesome first experience at a curly hair salon. Hajir was amazing and brought my vision to life - the final cut came out even better than I was envisioning! Not only was she incredibly skilled and detail oriented, but she’s also very friendly and kind!! Favorite haircut ever, definitely recommend :))

I don’t take the time to write reviews, but the team at this salon really stands out. I asked for cut and full highlights and couldn’t be happier. The staff really takes the time to hear your concerns and make you feel comfortable. I drove from an hour away and have no regrets. Will definitely be back. Thank you for an amazing experience

Hajir gave me one of the best cuts of my life! She really listened to what I wanted and checked in with me throughout the process to ensure I was happy with the results. I’ve been getting so many compliments and will definitely be coming back!

It’s nice that they do free consultations but I went in explaining that I never really had professional cuts before and showed some images I was interested in the style of and instead of brainstorming with me or being encouraging in any way I was basically told no my hair texture just wouldn’t create that style. Kinda felt like she just wanted it over with. Highly discouraging. Wish I hadn’t come all the way from Brooklyn for this.

Honestly did not think my curls were salvageable…… but this place and crew of lovely ladies did their thing. Great atmosphere,comfy. The owner is sweet overall everyone was very attentive and welcoming.

Sunny cut my hair and Monica washed and styled it. When I had requested achange for my haircut after styling it, it came out perfect. I have been trying different curly salons over the years and I’d happily come back. If one of the stylists sees this. I honestly wish I had tipped more and will next time.

This was my first time getting a curly cut and I was SO blown away! I went in for a haircut and I was more than impressed! Everyone was extremely kind and it was nice not having to apologize or explain my curly hair. Hajir was extremely kind, relatable, and helpful. Also, the hairstyling was amazing???!!! my hair has never been so bouncy or curly in MY LIFE! the hair wash alone was worth the trip to Filament. service was also pretty fast! I felt like I was constantly being attended to, and the employees were all giving me super helpful tips!

Don’t come if you’re hoping for a hairdresser who asks, listens, or cares. Had a great first experience here, but this time was different. $100 later and I’m going to the barber for a buzz cut. Edit: a day into this hair cut and it’s even worse than I thought. Can’t stop thinking about how my stylist blamed my hair texture for the reason she cut so much off when I just wanted a small trim and shaping. What I really want is my money and hair back :(

I got my hair cut and added bangs a few months ago and loved it ever since. Hajir did a great job, and now my mom wants to get her hair cut by Hajir as well! We’ll be booking a joint appointment soon.

I really wanted to like it here but was a mind bogglingly bad experience. Was there for over five hours for a simple cut and highlights. Was jostled around between at least three separate hair stylists, the first of which spilled bleach on my jeans. When I pointed that out to her, she just gave me a towel to wipe it (spoiler: doesn’t make your jeans any less bleached) The first stylist who toned my hair toned less than half, and I had to find another stylist while under the dryer to explain that large parts of my hair were white/yellow. This took an extra at least 45 minutes to fix. The second stylist who toned my hair also left it streaky, unblended, and not at all the color I asked for. Parts of it are clearly just bleached and not toned. They did not charge me for the service, but I do not count a wasted day taken off work, destroyed jeans, and a dye job I need to find another stylist to fix a positive experience. Including color stylist and I agreed on and what I actually got. Edit: the next morning I’m trying to figure out what on earth happened to my curl pattern and why my hair is so much shorter when I told them I wanted to keep length and was growing it out. I wish I never went and had my time, jeans, and hair back. Edit 2: I got my color fixed at a lovely hair salon that was shocked at how badly my hair was messed up.

I’ve been a customer here for the past 3 years and I’m really happy with Alexandra’s work! She really knows her stuff when it comes to curly hair and puts time and care into styling - never feels rushed, and great outcomes!

They did a really great job cutting my hair! It was my first experience getting a curly cut for my 2c/3a hair and I'm pretty happy with the outcome. The stylist listened to what I wanted and executed that well. The only thing I was disappointed with was that my stylist seemed overbooked. I sat around for 30-40 minutes after she cut my hair before someone started washing my hair as she styled two other clients hair. I was also a little let down because I expected more of a conversation about taking care of my hair but she didn't seem to have the time for that. Overall, I highly recommend the haircut and the stylists were very nice!

Called today to book an appointment since their square space isn’t working and their website is outdated. Receptionist was incredibly rude. Any question was a major inconvenience.

I came here for my second haircut but something has just gone horribly wrong with my hair afterwards. I came to get a trim and layers but my hair has lost its natural curl pattern after the haircut. I can't spend the same amount of time to diffuse, style etc. as they did in the salon and I never needed to earlier. A natural air dry would keep my curl pattern intact. Am very sad about the haircut now and almost regret getting it done. A month into the haircut, am now planning to get it cut again but maybe from someplace else.

I’ve always had a great experience here and can’t imagine going to a diff curly salon. I’ve been getting my hair done by Sunny for a couple years now and shes always done a great job. I always get compliments on my cut and my color. One time when my greys hadn’t fully absorbed the color, I went back and they made sure my hair was done right that same day.

I had an awful first experience here. The stylist was completely checked out. She didn't introduce herself or the dry cut methods used by the salon despite knowing it was my first time there. She barely looked at the reference photos I showed her and ended up just trimming my hair half an inch, which was not what I requested. When she finished that and asked what I thought, I said it wasn't what I wanted. She trimmed it another inch or so, working very quickly and still checked out. My hair was visibly uneven when she was done. At that point I didn't trust her with my hair any longer so I just went home. I washed/restyled it and was still unhappy with a crooked cut. I called the salon about getting it fixed. Whoever picked up was incredibly rude and refused to fix the cut for free, which is standard practice at most salons. I ended up going elsewhere on the recommendation of a friend. Will not be returning. A salon that charges $120+ for a cut should have better service (and results!) than a Great Clips.

I wish I had a better experience than what I received. Recent events have led me to putting a haircut on the back burner so I was really looking forward to being able to get back into a routine and have a self care day after work. When I walked in, I felt more so like I was taking up their time. I understand it was 6pm and towards the end of the day but it’s the only time I can book due to my working hours. It was nice to get insight on how I can help my hair and what I can do but I just felt humiliated and embarrassed when being asked such personal questions. I will say, Danielle, who washed my hair did make me feel human and more comfortable. My biggest issue was how my hair was styled as it was styled in a way that revealed an area of hair loss. I aas expecting to feel confident as I saw the woman who was getting her hair finished before me leave with the biggest smile on her face. I felt so self conscious. I just wanted to get out of there asap. I only got a smile once I had paid and tipped. I definitely will be using the advice on better hair management at home but will be looking for another hair salon in the future.

This was my first cut at Filament and all I can say is that Alexandra Lugo is a brilliant stylist. She listened to what I wanted, and when I showed her reference pictures of my dream style she patiently explained how those styles would translate with my curl pattern. She ended up giving me exactly what I wanted, customizing the features of 3 separate haircuts I was referencing to match my unique hair pattern. Simply brilliant! Her assistant gave me the best scalp massage to boot! I wouldn't say the haircut is super affordable but it is definitely not a bank breaker. It was worth every penny because nothing makes you feel as confident as a great haircut done by a professional who really listened to what you wanted! Will definitely be back.

Very disappointed with customer service!!! Will not be going back. I rescheduled my appointment 3 days prior with a confirmation sent to my email. I tried calling after rescheduling the appointment but could not get through to them. Tried again the next day multiple times, still could not get through because their voicemail box had not been set up. The original day that I had rescheduled, I received a text stating to confirm the appointment that I had already rescheduled. Finally got through to the front desk person after calling back to back multiple times. She was adamant she was going to charge me a cancellation fee because according to her, their voicemail IS set up and I’m canceling too late. I explained to her the entire situation once again, she goes back and forth with me basically denying my claim that I’ve made multiple attempts to call them. I eventually canceled my rescheduled appointment because of her attitude and her unprofessionalism. She went ahead and still charged me the cancellation fee despite showing proof that I rescheduled. I did everything the correct way according to their policy. It should not be my fault that their system did not cancel the previous appointment before allowing me to reschedule. It’s very unfortunate because it would have been my daughter’s and I first mother-daughter haircut and we were really looking forward to it. The only reason I’m giving this place 1 star is because of her terrible customer service skills. Once again, I RESCHEDULED the appointment on your app. If I reschedule the appointment, why do you think your customers should know that they have 2 appointments???? I called and could NOT get through to you because your voicemail box said it was not set up! You’re repeating the same thing again. I followed your cancelation policy. It said reschedule OR cancel. I definitely rescheduled 72hours in advanced.
