Joy is absolutely fantastic, she trimmed my hair exactly as how I planned. Very warm and welcoming atmosphere. My hair feels lightweight again! Can’t wait to come back, happy to find my home salon. Also, the Mr. Smith products are just as amazing. Such a lovely salon. The ladies of Flirt made this the best salon experience I’ve had.

(2018)Absolutely love love love! I haven’t been this satisfied with a haircut in a long time. Big thanks to Jeriel, she's the absolute best! (2019) Came back for a different style; went from super long to shoulder length. Jeriel continues to be my favorite stylist, ever. She has super gentle hands, listens to what you want out of your hair (what you have and haven't liked about styles or cuts in the past or in pictures you bring in), and has a green thumb, but for hair. She has left my mum's and my hair super duper wonderful.

Five star service as always Ms. Briana can make you feel like a star once she’s done coloring, washing, and cutting your hair! Briana does such an amazing job! I’ve been coming here for over two years now and I will never go anywhere else. This is the only hair-salon I’ve been to that can give me platinum hair because everyone else I’ve been to has fried my hair. With Briana my hair is now mid way down my back I started with hair above my shoulders she not only gives you the hair color and style you want she keeps the integrity of the hair and improves the hair over time if yours was fried like mine. I have long gorgeous blond hair and eventually I added some extensions for volume purposes and a lot of people said it would ruin my hair but I trusted Briana and I’m happy I did the extensions used here don’t damage your hair whatsoever I’ve had them put in now for over a year no breaking nothing just gorgeous hair. My advice is go to flirt urban salon you won’t be disappointed I always leave with a smile on my face and no regrets on the cost! Thanks for making me gorgeous again!

I had the worse experience ever! First of all Alexis tried to detangle my natural 4b-4c hair dry as soon as I walked through the door. After Alexis proceeded to wash my hair. I had to detangle my own hair because she didn’t know how to detangle natural hair and tried to comb out my Afro as one instead of sectioning. The towels the used that were “clean” has stains all over them. But finally after 5 hours of get my hair “done”. The overall the silk press came out nice. UNTILL 3 days later when I washed my hair and had EXTREME HEAT DAMAGE. My hair look like she put perm in the back of my head. If you are a natural stay far away from this “salon”. Run ladies run. If you’re looking for a reason not to go, let it be this one sis. My motivation to right this review came after I had to cut all the parts of my new heat damaged natural hair out.

I love this salon! I have been coming to the salon for a few years and have never been disappointed. The atmosphere is relaxing and fun! Bri is amazing and so talented. She has always made me feel comfortable and kept me laughing through my appointment. My hair has always Joy, Eileen and Jerriel are educated, talented and great company when I am in the salon. Highly recommend Flirt Urban Salon - Best Salon in San Diego!

Joy did an incredible job with a balayage correction. She's so talented and humble. Drove down from LA to have my hair fixed by an expert. Worth the drive! She's amazing!

Jeriel at this salon is the absolute BEST! I had a different hair stylist for years and switched to Jeriel because she was closer to my house. I'm so glad I made the change! My color always looks so amazing and natural when she does it. She's also the sweetest person to talk to so I truly love going to see her! Thanks Jeriel for always giving me the best hair. I'm so lucky I found you!

The most important thing when it comes to my hair is making sure the stylist and I share the same vision. I'm very picky and I have finally found my forever hair salon in San Diego. Joy is so amazing! She always makes sure that she's on the same page with me. She has an eye for detail and works magic by creating beautiful hair colors that compliment your natural hair and skin color. She is very consistent with her work. Joy also has a way of opening you up which makes your appointment like a therapy session and hair session in one! I leave feeling great on the inside and looking fabulous on the outside. I can tell she is passionate about being the best hairstylist she can be. Whether it's a balayage or babylights, I put all of my trust in her each time! The salon has a very clean, professional, and comfortable vibe. It's very cute and trendy inside. They sell every bumble and bumble product available! (My go to us the surf spray and hairdressers oil primer) The stylists are friendly and welcoming! It's so refreshing to feel right at home and to sit back and enjoy getting pampered!

Joy is THE best hairstylist. Besides being funny and friendly, she's professional and knows what she's doing. Joy gave me the natural sun-kissed highlights that I often ask for but rarely get at other salons. Getting the hair you want is a crapshoot but Joy listens to what you want and delivers. I'm totally loving my hair! Obviously, I highly recommend Flirt and especially, Joy. Absolutely the best in San Diego!

When I first moved to San Diego, I was in a conundrum without a hair stylist. My hair color had been the same for a number of years (red), and I wanted to make sure I could find someone willing to mix the formula I had on file. My previous hair stylist is a close friend, but she lives in Denver and flying back and forth to have my hair colored was not in my budget. It also isn’t a sustainable model. Luckily, I found Joy Ishii! I first stumbled upon Flirt Urban Salon quite by accident. I happened to walk by it in route to a baseball game. I remembered the name of the salon and called the next week to see if she would match my color formula. I had called other salons, and each one flat out refused to match my specific color formula. Most didn’t use the specific line I wanted and were not willing to order it. Joy was completely amazing and accommodating. She didn’t use the particular color line I wanted, but went out of her way to special order it. The results were wonderful! We continued that way for a few months, and then she converted me over to a color line she prefers. I’ve been religiously going to Joy for over 7 years. She is the only person I let color and cut my hair. People stop me all the time and ask who does my hair, and I brag about Joy! She is not only a talented hair stylist, but she is a great listener, friend and genuine person.
