I can’t say enough GOOD things about this place and Arlen, the owner/stylist. He provides the BEST cut and color EVER! He takes time to study your hair growth and how it falls. He considers your lifestyle and what cut will be easiest for you. An artist in his own right, he showcases other local artists in his salon-gallery. It’s always a fun and interesting experience and I’m never disappointed with the results. A+, 5 Stars!

Arlen Wickstrum is the hairstylist OF hairstylists! He’s created such a magical, botanical environment at his shop, it’s like stepping into a living dream. He is truly an artist and a vibe. After 20+ years I get to leave knowing it’s always the best haircut yet.

Heather Haavisto goes above and beyond to ensure you have a great and safe experience during this pandemic! My mother-in-law is on hospice battling stage 4 pancreatic cancer and is immune compromised. Even though the Salon is taking the necessary precautions, my MIL is too weak to make it there. So Heather came to her home to cut it. She gave my MIL something to look forward to and left her feeling and looking beautiful afterwards!

Nick is my magician. How I envision myself looking is what he delivers. Pus he's kind + makes you feel comfortable. Rita is always so sweet and funny as well. Never feel awkward coming in . Definitely found my "hair home" ;)

Best salon in Kansas City, hands down! You know this gem is different from the moment you walk in the door. It is upscale in a fun and funky way and you feel welcome from the moment you walk in the door to the moment you walk out. Heather is my savior! She is beyond talented and really listens to what I want instead of "Mmmhmming" and just giving me what she thinks will look best without running it by me first. I could go on, but just do yourself a favor and book an appointment now!

Great salon with professional staff - a place that makes you feel comfortable with a cool vibe. Heather is excellent - attentive, listens to you with respect to color, cut and styling needs, and makes you feel at home. Heather is a colorist extraordinaire and always gives me a great haircut. She is also really interesting to talk to. Nick is a wizard with the scissors, great with color, and super cute too. The whole place has a laid back vibe that makes you want to put your feet up, have a glass of wine and stay awhile.

Heather is the best! I can never decide what to do with my hair, and she always comes up with gorgeous colors and styles for the season. She's a total sweetheart, and the time seems to fly by when chatting with her. The salon is beatiful, bright, and open. Everyone is friendly and inviting. I can't recommend this place and Heather enough!

I absolutely loved my experience at this salon. It was a very unique experience. Nick did a phenomenal job on my bob and knew exactly what I wanted. Not only did he perfect my hair but he also did my makeup! I Would recommend to anyone.

I've been going to Heather at Flock for around 5 years. She always gives me a perfect, low maintenance, yet stylish haircut without me giving her hardly any direction. Everyone is really nice and accommodating and I love the little perks like a great magazine selection, good music and a glass of wine from time to time.

LOVE this salon. Great atmosphere. Incredible stylists! I have gone to Heather for years and never have a bad haircut. She is incredible always consistent. I highlight to blond and other stylist have had an issue with always making my hair a shade lighter until low lights have to be added. Not Heather. My hair is always the perfect color, blends great with my natural color. She is an incredible colorist. Highly recommend her and the salon!

While I was doing my hair this morning I remembered that I needed to do this. I LOVE HEATHER! Truth - she was a friend first, but I wont go to anyone else. Heather has been doing my hair for almost four years and not only is she a great stylist, she's easy to talk to and a lot of fun. The atmosphere of Flock is great - I love all the plants!! It's unique and beautiful.
