After reading this review, I feel I must stand up for Otilia. I have been going to her for several years. She is many things. She is an extremely talented hairdresser, professional, very caring and above all, HONEST. I was there when Luisa walked in. She asked for a hairCUT. I remember this because my husband was due to pick me up and I was wondering if I was going to be late. Otilia told her she could just give her a haircut and not styling. Luisa agreed. Otilia then asked her if she wanted long layers and she said, “Yes, long layers and I want it thinned out. I haven’t had it cut in 3 months. I have too much hair.” I said, “I’ll take it,” because she had a really beautiful head of hair. All three of us laughed. Otilia finished highlighting the 3 foils left in my hair, then she started cutting Luisa’s hair. I watched Otilia cut Luisa’s hair in the mirror on the wall behind her chair, again wondering if was going to be late. After a few minutes, Otilia stopped and started talking to Luisa. Otilia told her about the short patch of hair in the back of her head. She claimed it wasn’t there when she came in. Otilia told her, “It was there. I brought this to your attention. If I did it, I could have just left it and you wouldn’t have noticed it because you have so much hair. That’s about three month’s growth.” They argued back and forth for a while. The whole time they were arguing, Luisa was laughing and smiling. When Otilia said, “You just came in here to get a free haircut”, she smiled really big, grabbed her purse and walked out. At no time during this conversation did she seem upset about the short patch of hair on her head. As Luisa left, another client of Otilia’s commented, “If she was so upset about her hair, why was she laughing the whole time?” She also doesn’t appear to be upset about it in the photo she posted. It was apparent to us, she was there for a free haircut.

I came here and asked for a trim and to thin out my hair. The lady basically gave me a hair cut and chop off like 6-7 inches of my hair. When I basically asked for a trim. She then proceeds to thin my hair out with the thinning scissors, as time went by she proceeds to lie and say “ oh I’m not sure if you have noticed but, I think the place you went to 3 months ago, chopped this off.”( the picture is what I’m referring to) i know my own hair and I style my hair everyday and I straighten my own hair . I would have notice that big chuck of hair missing out of my head. I guess when she was thinning out my hair she went too high and accidentally chopped it off. i wish she was just honest and not blamed others for her mistakes. I basically confronted her of doing it. She starts raising her voice said and kept repeating herself that “she is honest and would never do such thing.” I basically told her I’m not satisfied with my hair cut. She starts to say. “Oh you just want free service and told me to leave her salon.” I picked up my pursed and left the salon. As she proceeds to yell in front of her other clients sitting in their chairs, it’s unprofessional. I had to call another salon to fix my hair that same day, the place I went to is called (Avalon Hair designs By stone oak) and drove 45 mins to fix all the mistakes. Please choose wisely and read the reviews carefully before going to places where you pay people to do you service. Im gonna be honest I can come back there and pay for the service she done but she told me to leave her store so I just left in shock. I have photos of the uneven hair cuts she has done on me.

Primera vez que conosco a Otilia i ace un trabajo maravilloso. I quiere lo mejor para tu cabello para que este sano i cuidado. Me recomendo sus productos i son una maravilla para mi pelo reseco. I el tono de mi color quedo bello. Gracias Otilia regresare despues por highlights. Yo yege con pelo amarillo i sali con un tono perfecto. Had an appointment just for a trim. She treated my hair without asking me. I ended up paying close to $300 when all I wanted was a trim. Prices are not available to see and when I asked (prior to appointment), I was just told it ranges from $20 - $50. I got to my appointment on time. I waited for an hour to have my hair done.

I went to get hair coloring and scalp hydration treatment which caused me to develop a fungus. I went to the doctor and he stated to contact her the to ask about the hair tint used to see if it may have caused a reaction. When I called the owner of this salon, she very rude and began to insult me. She was reluctant to tell me the name of the product. This has never happened to me before at any hair place and feel upset due to having to spend more outside to get relief from the fungus I contracted at this place. It is not fair to be charged a large sum and not have the business respond when faced with something like this. Ma’am you are asserting I did not get this fungus from your salon yet you won’t share the name of the tint you used to investigated? It would not seem like an issue if you took the time to listen to what I was trying to say to you rather than yelling at me through the phone. I called to let you know my doctors recommendations to prevent this from spreading to other clients yet you continued to offend me and say “you must have gotten it from your country”. Those are offensive comments to make regardless of who you speaking to.

My first visit she did a trim and color. I was going lighter with blonde. She turned my roots orange. It got worse after a couple of washes. When I went back to the salon at my next appointment to show her, and asked if we could get the roots to not be orange. She kept asking if I had colored my hair on my own. I thought this was an odd question. I told her that no, I only went to your salon, only used the hair products they sold me, besides a clear expensive pomade. And this was the result. She fixed my color, and then charged me $375 for a color correction, without telling me beforehand that she would be changing me this. NO ONE should be charged a color correction for correcting the mistake that THEY made. This is an unethical business with no morals and values. And it was the owner, Otillia that botched my color and then charged me to fix her mistake. DO NOT GO HERE! I will be reporting them to the better business bureau.

Highly recommend!! Otilia is a master hair stylist and master hair colorist. She cuts and colors with precision, is attentive to her clients, and has an attitude that everyone that leaves her salon chair represents her brand. I have been coming to Fonsi Salon for over 10 years and am so happy to have found this salon when we first moved to San Antonio. Otilia is a hair stylist/colorist par excellence!!!

The lady was very nice , and the haircut looked amazing , but it was a little pricy considering what I had done. She only had to cut a couple of inches off , she washed it and dried it , I think she put a treatment in my hair (she didn’t ask if I wanted it or not) and she did not style it (curl or straighten). Overall the experience was nice , but I do not think it was worth $70.

This place is wonderful! I was looking for a last minute trim and didn’t know where to go to for a haircut. I found myself going to fonsi’s and boy was I amazed. Everything is amazing about this place from the decorations to the workers. I contacted Miss Otilia for a last minute cut and she welcomed me with open arms. She know exactly what I wanted and she cut my hair perfectly. I’ll definitely be going back next time I need a haircut. This place is a 10/10. Otilia made the experience much better.

DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!! Take your business elsewhere! The owner Odila is nothing but a scam and will do what she wants with your hair. She will not listen to you as a customer, and will try and blame your previous stylist for her mistakes. On top of that she’ll add treatment to your hair without asking if you would like to pay for it. My friends and family literally laughed at my hair and asked if a college student had experimented with it. So please stay away. You will regret going here, do not let the name fool you.
