What an amazing first time experience I had with this exceptional salon! From the moment I arrived, I was warmly greeted by Alex and Xanthi and it set the tone for one of the most welcoming salon experiences I’ve ever had. Chandanie, a Color Specialist, provided a thorough consultation discussing customized color options that would best suit me considering skin tone, maintenance, and my preferences. Sean, a Cutting Specialist, offered me hair styles based on highlighting my natural facial features. The two collaborated seamlessly to create a well rounded plan for my final goal. They ensured that every question I had asked was answered which gave me the ultimate confidence in the result. I’m already looking forward to future services with them. 10/10

Mariel did a no bleach balayage on me to lighten my hair for spring/summer. I was skeptical at first because every other salon goes straight to bleach, but let me tell you… my hair got the exact color dimension I wanted and feels so healthy and smooth!! Mariel is an experienced colorist, confident in her craft and knows exactly what her clients need. I’m so glad I found her and decided to give Fourteen Jay a try - best salon in NYC!

Fourteenjay is my oasis in New York and I am so lucky to have found it over four years ago. The salon is filled with the best staff who are not only extremely talented, but are so kind. I sent my partner there a while back and she never wants to step into this salon ever again. She told me she was uncomfortable there and won't be returning to this establishment ever again. Although her hair looked great, she was heartbroken at the expression on the employee's faces as they were working. She also noticed one of the owners screaming at one of the employees while in the sight of customers. My wife is not that into her hair to justify poor staff treatment and unprofessional behavior from owners. There are other high end salons in New York City that can do just as good of a job whilst still maintaining professional behavior in front of clients.

I went here to get my hair done for my courthouse wedding and I was so pleased with how it turned out. First the front desk staff was super friendly and brought me a delicious oat milk cappuccino. The salon was impeccably clean and nice looking and all of the staff were friendly. Chandanie helped me determine how I wanted my hair and did a great job curling and blow drying it. People commented on how beautiful it looked. I'm considering going back for a haircut in the future.

LOVE this salon! Best color ever. The ambiance is fantastic, they have Nespresso coffee, cookies, infused water and herbal facial and room sprays to balance and center yourself. Extra gold stars for having luxurious hand creme to use and little tables to set your computer or bag. Everything is so well thought out. People are wonderful. Service is delightful. Their color doesn't smell and the result is gorgeous.

I love FourteenJay & Aveda products so It has been my go to hair salon for a couple of years now, and my last appointment was the best so far. Deanna is a very skilled colorist and has the most delicate hands when it comes to shampooing, I had the best scalp rub I’ve ever experienced in this location. Then Sean took over for the cut and he was very attentive & caring about my needs. This duo was definitely the best:)

I was visiting NYC and needed my hair coloured to get ready for Thanksgiving. My sister who's a regular customer, booked time with the co-owner of the salon, David, as my colourist. David was very charming and at the same time very professional. I got to learn about his impressive professional experience with Aveda, developing colors, and marketing campaigns across the globe. Even though they knew I was just a transient customer who may not come back again, the service level remain up there, from coloring to washing, to blow drying, every step was handled with care. It was a simple job I had requested, but as I watched the operations of the salon while waiting for the color to set in, I could tell it was a salon of high professional standards. Besides the skills of the stylist and colorists, the environment was very clean, bright and pleasant, and everyone was very friendly. A shout-out to Deanna also for making my sister's hair look beautiful. I highly recommend this salon.

My hair looked and felt amazing for days after. Cappuccinos in the salon were endless and everyone was so nice and accommodating. Highly recommend going to see Mariel for a blow dry (she also does color and told me she specializes in ombré without bleach. I didn’t get any color but I have no doubt she’s great). 10 out of 10 will go back 🥂

Wonderful experience - Logan was kind, attentive, listened to my needs while giving expert advice and gave me perfect curtain bangs and a beautiful layered cut with movement. Having recently moved from LA, I was looking for a new salon in NYC for my regular color and cuts. My sister is an Aveda colorist and educator and knew just the right place to send me, Fourteenjay. The salon is in the most lovely area of Tribeca and has rigorous COVID-19 cleaning protocols so you feel very safe and at ease. David is an absolute hair legend! He and his entire team went above and beyond during my entire experience and exceeded every expectation. I came in with some hair trauma (blonde breakage and bad cut) from a different salon in SoHo and David’s expert highlights and Alyssa’s amazing cut and blowout brought me back to life. Fourteenjay focuses on the health of the hair as the foundation to beautiful hair so they really work with you to not further compromise it, but to get it to its healthiest state. From the time I booked my appointment to the moment I walked out of the salon, I received truly first class service from the entire team. I’m grateful to have found my new salon and won’t be going anywhere else! Highly recommended. Thanks David and team at Fourteenjay for an incredible visit!
