I was absolutely terrified to get my hair cut after several horrible haircuts by other stylists that did not understand how to cut curly hair. I had not had my hair cut in over five years. I researched curly hair salons and drove two hours to Freedom Curls. It was well worth the drive. Erica did a fantastic job. She could tell I was anxious and took the time to sit with me. She talked me through everything she was going to do. I was extremely uneducated in how to care for my curls and she took her time explaining everything including products to use, how to and how often to wash, and how to style my curls. I am eternally grateful to Erica. I am beyond happy with my haircut. I am also grateful to Freedom Curls for providing a salon dedicated to people that have curly hair and providing stylists that are compassionate, patient, and knowledgeable in their craft. Thank you Erica and Freedom Curls.

The ladies in this salon are absolute angels! I spoke with the owner Laqueta over the phone before stopping by and she went out of her way to assist me. The salon itself also looks very chic and upscale. I can’t wait to return for my curls

I've been seeing Zaki at Freedom Curls for 4 years. He is friendly, professional, and has been patient and supportive in my hair goals! The space is always clean and welcoming. The stylists work well together in the open space too.

Fantastic place for people with thick curly hair to get their hair done. Maddison took great care of my curls and dyed my hair to a magnificent shade of blonde. If you're looking for a cut Tiffany is a fantastic person to book. Stop by for a great hairstyle.

I love this salon! Ashlee did my cut and Maddie did my color. Both ladies were absolutely amazing! The vibes were great and we had so much fun chatting. They both did such a fabulous job with my hair, I'm in love!!

Tahia gave me the best haircut of my life! She was professional, but fun! Made me feel so comfortable and made sure I was confident in each decision. The environment was fantastic and she even relocated booths so I could sit by my daughter who was seeing Maddie (also did a wonderful job). Above and beyond service. Exceptional technique. If you are on the fence... Just do it! You won't be sorry!

I love my stylist! I’ve been going to Laquita for about 8yrs now. She always delivers!!! When I say she’s the BOMB, I mean she has an amazing gift. She listens, professional, and never upsets. All her staff is amazing and friendly! Worth every penny! I’ve learned so much about my hair since going to Laquita. She helps you with products that work with your hair type, and also how to use them. I now live in Chicago, I make the drive every 6 to 8 weeks for Laquita to do my hair. I go often because I have color and need my grays covered lol. I will continue to make the drive from Chicago just to get my hair done by Laquita. I recently had the pleasure of getting my hair colored and a wash&go done by LaQuita. It was an amazing experience. The salon is peaceful and well maintained. LaQuita has such a good vibe as a person - professional, relaxed, knowledgeable, a good listener. On top of that, she is skilled at what she does! My color came out great. My wash&go is the best one I’ve ever had. I’m very happy with my results!

I was so afraid to get color in my hair since I haven’t ever done it before, but LaQuita was genuinely so patient even though I had no clue what I really wanted when I sat down in the chair. She talked me through the process, showing me pictures of colors, cuts, breaking down what MY hair would realistically look like, etc and I felt listened to for the first time in a salon chair. I have been natural for 7 years and since leaving this treasure of a salon, it’s my favorite that my hair has ever looked! The atmosphere is nice as an additional plus, I could ask a million questions to make sure I could keep up my hair, and my curls were defined in a way they never have been before. I would recommend this place to anyone.

This review comes as a full circle moment! I went from being the DJ of the grand opening to being a client & both experiences were AMAZING!!!! First & foremost, LaQuita not only accommodated me for an appointment that’s out of her normal work schedule (I came in on a Sunday), but she made sure that i was out of the chair right on time because i had to drive back to Chicago for work. Professional AND quick! I got partial color & a curly cut. I was a little nervous about the color because my curls are my babies, but after LaQuita cut & colored my hair, I was thoroughly impressed & amazed by how much healthier my hair looked! The colored parts of my hair didn’t lose their bounce and the color we went with (violet) was literally perfect!!! Also should mention that not only is the shop beautiful, clean, well lit, & spacious, LaQuita is also very very personable and will make sure you feel comfortable the entire time you’re in her chair. She’s thorough in her process and makes sure that you know exactly what she’s doing to your hair, which I really appreciated. I absolutely love my hair and can’t wait for the touch up! And yes: I WILL be making the drive all the way from Chicago to do so!

ERICA!!!!! Omg. 10/10 I had to get a CUT because my ends were not great. and she waited till i was ready for the cut to cut! she is so sweet ,gentle and loving! i did not get burned in my silk press!!😂 she did not burn my scalp! Check pics! she’s so eager and ready to learn! and she’s patient and enjoys her work!!!

I had my hair cut and styled by Erica. She was very personable and asked questions to see how I like my hair styled. She did a fantastic job!! The salon was also comfortable, beautiful and clean. Everyone working was friendly and I love how they all complimented one another’s work. I will definitely be back.

I recently visited Freedom Curl Hair Salon for a cut, shampoo, and color, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the experience! From the moment I walked in, the customer service was exceptional. The staff was warm, attentive, and made me feel right at home. The atmosphere is so vibrant and full of energy, which really made the whole visit enjoyable. I’ve been wanting this hair cut and style for a while now but was always worried I’d regret it because I couldn’t find anyone near me to do it properly and while my hair is in its natural state. I went to Tahia at Freedom Curls Salon & she gave me everything I asked for & answered all the questions that I had with also giving me some tips to do at home. I’m in love with my hair again & my experience was amazing. My curls have never looked & felt better! They use high quality, clean products from wash to style & my hair flourished! This is my second time coming to this salon & each time has been worth the drive ! 10/10 recommend! ❤️

My hairstylist was friendly and welcoming, providing a clear explanation of the service process. However, I felt there was a lack of in-depth coaching on styling techniques and product recommendations tailored to my specific hair type and texture, which would have helped me recreate the look at home. Unfortunately, my hairstyle only lasted one day; by the next day, I had to comb out the curls because I was unsure how to maintain them.

My stylist , TAHIA SANDERS, was beyond amazing ! She literally brought my dry dead hair back to life and She didn’t care how many questions I asked!!! I can’t thank her enough! This was truly an amazing experience because I usually let random salons botch my hair but never again!!! She is my forever go to gal ! YOU NEED TO BOOK HER FR BECAUSE SHE IS AMAZING AND GOD HAS GIFTED HER WITH AN AMAZING TALENT OF TRANSFORMING ANY HAIR!! My photos added, some before and after! Erica was amazing she did a great job with my hair. Best salon experience ever! It was exactly what I needed and what my hair needed. Not only did she cut and style my hair she also taught me how to be able to recreate it a home teaching me the best methods to style my hair for the bounce and shine. I highly recommend going to Freedom Curls salon for your curly haircut! I will be going back for my trim when needed, only salon I completely trust and enjoyed my haircut in years for curly hair.

Got my first cut and style for my natural hair. I was very nervous since I just started going natural and usually keep my hair braided. Tiffany did a great job on my hair! I am a 4c girly so my hair is very thick and full! Initially when I came in, she asked me about my hair, and I explained my hair type and my expectations! She worked on my hair like a magician. It’s healthy, the texture is soft, and my curls looked amazing! She also educated me on how to maintain my curls and keep my hair healthy. Very informal and highly educated on my hair texture to my surprise! I will be coming back every month if I can and specifically want it to be her! Highly recommend!
