I am a Freehand girly for life! Rachael cuts, styles and treats my hair; and Lauren does my color. I refuse to have anyone else touch my hair! I always receive the best service at every appointment, and every staff member is so warm and welcoming. Quality service aside, the salon vibes and ambiance are immaculate, all thanks to the amazing owners Britt and Zak. Don’t know what I’d do without my Freehand peeps ♥️

I currently live in California, and I will come back to Texas to visit Zak and Britt at FreeHand. Sure, they are incredible at their jobs, but what I love the most about them is the vibrant and uplifting environment they foster. I not only leave with the most fabulous cut, color, and style, but they always know how to make me have a good time while in the chair. They have been doing my hair now for going almost four years, and I will never go to anyone else! They are the best to ever do it!

Cannot recommend Rachael enough! I have thick, long, and curly hair, and finding a hairdresser who knows how to handle it is extremely difficult. Rachael's attention to detail and skill level (in addition to her kind and calm demeanor) was evident after my first appointment. Not only does she cut it perfectly when my hair is curly and straight, but she can also blow dry it completely smooth with a blow dryer alone (no straightener). I highly recommend booking an appointment with her!

I came in for color and cut. Left with a Beautiful rich brunette color and smooth long face framing layers! The salon is small and cute. Street parking if you’re lucky; Parking is aplenty in the attached garage, next to the Starbucks. My colorist did a great job; I only needed a basic service so it wasn’t a long process at all. She was friendly and knowledgeable about her craft. The receptionist, Josh, is friendly and even walked me out to my car to the parking garage with an umbrella since it was raining; they didn’t want me to ruin my blowout! Loved that. Minus 2 stars since there are two workers (stylists I’m assuming) who were loudly cackling away the entire time. One was splayed out on the salon couch loudly talking about his life and love of Brittney Spears, as he refers to himself as “Britt”. The other guy pulled up a chair next to my stylist as she cut my hair to loudly reminisce about the last 20 years of bar hopping drunken debauchery. My haircut stylist and him carried on their LOUD conversation over my head as she cut my hair. It was not a pleasant experience at all. I was hoping my hair cut stylist would focus on me, but she didn’t seem to mind that I was treated like a salon mannequin. Apparently, they think they are so fascinating that the ENTIRE salon, including clients, are there to be regaled with stories about themselves. My experience there was unpleasant due to this and I don’t plan on making a follow up appointment. I have been to MANY trendy upscale salons in Dallas and understand they can get pretty noisy with all the blowouts, talking, music, etc. But to have a stylist literally splayed out on the salon couch swiping on his phone while talking extremely loud to all his coworkers while they’re with clients was pretty strange. And to have the other stylist pull up a chair next to my stylist while she cut my hair to carry on an entire conversation while she worked on me was unprofessional, in my opinion. I went to this salon because I saw their amazing work on Instagram and wanted to check it out! I suggest you go elsewhere as there are plenty of awesome trendy salons in Dallas, where there are master stylists, who actually take care to make sure their clients are comfortable and have an amazing experience.

I was in Dallas for a work event and meeting several team members and leadership in person for the first time. I wanted to look and feel my best, and a local coworker recommended Freehand. Yes, I could have washed and fixed my own hair, but sometimes you just need it to be someone else’s problem, ya know? They did exactly what I asked for (soft curls) and I’m not sure what shampoo they used, but my blond was poppin’! I received several compliments on my hair (which is what we all do it for, right??) and felt confident and put together for my meeting. Not sure when I’ll have to go back to Dallas, but I’ll definitely be back when given the opportunity. Special shoutout to my stylist, Zak, who was an absolute riot and made me feel like we’d known each other for years and not just 45 minutes.

I’m sorry but you won’t find better talent than at Freehand anywhere in the DFW area. Don’t even waste your time, just go ahead and book an appointment. I live all the way in Plano and make the drive to Dallas because there is no one I trust more than Freehand. Josh at the front desk is the kindest person making you feel so welcome upon arrival. Britt colors my hair and is a master at his craft. I don’t even bother telling him what I want anymore, he just makes it happen. I’m a brunette in a Dallas Blonde world- and Britt makes my brunette hair look stunning!! Zak and Rachel have cut my hair and again, they just know exactly what I need. It’s so refreshing to be able to walk into a salon confident knowing I’ll walk out feeling beautiful and my hair looking like a work of art. Thank you to the entire Freehand Team! Very nice atmosphere, attentive stylists and front desk service, clean and hygienic. Rachael is extremely talented, gentle, and has been able to shape my very coarse and dry hair into the best haircuts I’ve ever had. She doesn’t try to oversell me on expensive products, has a wealth of knowledge, and is truly honest about what would look good and what wouldn’t depending on your hair type. The only stylist I’m trusting from now on!

After having a terrible first experience at a previous hair salon, I didn’t want to dye my hair again for a long time but I decided to give it a try again and was given a great recommendation. I was blown away by Jaclyn’s skills. She revived my hair and gave me the color that I had envisioned. She is extremely talented and everyone at the salon was welcoming and kind also!!

Freehand salon is fantastic. Britt and Zach put together an outstanding product. My experience is great every time. Josh, at the front desk, is professional, organized and friendly. Britt covers my greys, gives me beautiful highlights and Rachel gives me great cuts. (I’m in my 50s and have medium length fine wavy hair.) Every time I walk out after a appointment, I feel beautiful. My daughter (blonde and straight hair) has highlights done by Britt and haircuts by Zach. I’ve had keratin treatments with Zach too- loved them and he modified the technique when I wanted a little more volume. From my chair, I’ve watched the magic Zach creates with hair extensions. The salon is reasonably priced, clean, upbeat, fun, small, and has great views. It’s truly a treat to go- every single time. I highly recommend and my daughter does too.

I came here for my first professional haircut in over 10(!!) years and I am so satisfied with the results! Rachael did an amazing job giving me the long layered cut that I was hoping for and provided me helpful tips for my hair type. Josh at the front desk was also extremely friendly and welcoming. Big plus also for the super cute decor and fresh, clean feel of the salon itself. I love the experience I had today and I look forward to coming back for future hair cuts/styling needs!

I see Rachael here. I have short hair and always leave looking beautiful. In Dallas it’s hard to find a stylist who knows how to cut short hair. Rachael knows how. The salon is small and quaint. Josh is the manager and is on top of his game. He is helpful and follows up on messages left. I look forward to seeing him upon my arrival and departure. I highly recommend Freehand.
