David was incredible. Best haircut of my life! I just moved here and needed a new stylist urgently for a business trip. I'm THRILLED with how it turned out. I'm new to coloring and also not the best at explaining what I want, but David was able to translate my vision and execute perfectly! Plus he was so personable and even included a hand massage which was so relaxing and pampering. Found my new stylist! Yay!

David at Fringe and Frolic was nothing less than amazing! He truly is a West Seattle gem! I had been with my previous stylist for several years, so I was nervous about starting with a new stylist and David really helped that! David performed a hair coloring and a haircut service for me. He was very great with my consultation and he asked lots of questions, and listened to my ideas and what my vision was. He was also very responsive and very kind. He is an amazing stylist! I absolutely love the new look that he gave me. I feel so fresh and so revived! I also loved the great conversations that we had and all the laughs that we had in the salon. I highly recommend David at Fringe and Frolic. I think he can make your vision happen and you will have a great time in the process!

David is a highly skilled stylist who has helped me create some new looks that I have received several compliments on. His salon has such a welcoming and calm vibe and David himself makes you feel right at home. I’m glad I found him and hopes he never leaves West Seattle!

Dave has mastered the art of doing hair. I went in to the salon feeling drabby and bored with my hair. Thankfully, Dave gave me an electric color and a cut that made my hair move again. I also loved the ambience of the space and Dave had me laughing and forgetting my troubles. What a great mini vacation in my hectic life. Thanks Dave! <3

David is amazing. I wanted help changing my look, and last year he gave me just the push I needed to change to a better cut for me. I've been going to Fringe & Frolic ever since and always have a great time shooting the breeze while I get my cut and coloring. Can't recommend enough.

I came to David with hair a strange color, and a cut that was uninspired. I now, due to his artistry, have a color I just love, and a cut that flatters my face. He is terrific at his job, and great fun to talk to, as well. Highly recommend!

About 4 months ago I had a traumatic hair experience with a bleach and tone which went terribly wrong. My stylist was a well known name in Seattle and because of that, I mistakenly thought I could trust their work. Unfortunately, I ended up with a chemical haircut where a ton of my hair fell out and the color was damaged, almost beyond repair. I met with several color correction stylists afterwards to address the damage and only after meeting with David, I felt secure I was in good hands. Our appointment lasted 6 hours and after multiple processes, what he was able to achieve by the end could only be described as magic. David is not only one of the most talented colorists in Seattle (he specialized in color correction during his tenure at Gary Manuel) but also a truly wonderful person to hang out with for six hours despite never having met him before. He explained each part of the process with me and then charged close to $200 less than the other big names I met with who are considered “the best.” David’s name should be at the top of that list. If you are looking for a stylist who is immensely talented, reasonably priced and a true gem of a human being, contact David. You won’t be sorry.

Been seeing David for the better half of a year now and he's by far one of the most talented, thoughtful hair stylists I've ever encountered. Every session feels engaging like catching up with an old friend and I'm always impressed with the end result. David was so personable and professional. This was my first time seeing him and he sat down and spoke with me about what I was wanting and was very thorough to make sure I was getting what I wanted. During the process we had great conversation and he even spent time after the appointment to give me tips on how to maintain my natural wave pattern. I cannot recommend him enough and my balayage turned out amazing! Go see him!

I came to Fringe and Frolic needing a major color and styling overhaul. David took extra time with me to discuss thoroughly what I wanted and he gave me his expert opinion as to how to refresh my look. He's very professional and warm, and I felt completely comfortable with his COVID safety procedures, too. He balanced out my color very skillfully, applied special conditioners, and gave me a precision cut. I felt much renewed after he was finished. I've had many compliments on my hair in the weeks since visiting his salon. The whole experience was wonderful and I will be back in September!

It's always a pleasure to spend a couple of hours with my favorite hair artist! David has been doing my hair for several years and has never disappointed me. His color skills are amazing! I went from a dark cherry red back to blonde and was happy with every stage. His studio is so cozy and warm, just like David! Color me impressed! I don't think I've ever worked with a more skilled and professional stylist. It was truly a wonderful experience. I had my shoulder length hair dyed in violet with pink and blue accents. It looks incredible. He also taught me new styling tips and had me walk out the door feeling great and looking sleeker than I have all year. Definitely going to be back for regular maintenance and new looks. Thanks again for the awesome job!!!

David has a great eye for hair and has given me two excellent haircuts in the last several months that have helped me discover new looks for myself. He is easy to talk to and takes the time to listen and make sure you are getting the style you want. The location is convenient, sanitary and relaxing. Would definitely recommend his services.

David is the best stylist I've ever had. He is always willing to listen to whatever bizarre notion I've come up with for my next haircut and be honest with me about if it will look good. I've never gotten a bad haircut here, and I'm always ecstatic with the ones I have. I also feel very comfortable expressing any concerns or asking any questions I may have, either with the cut or how to style my hair. David has always been very helpful explaining how to use certain products or even how to get a tighter buzz on the back of my neck between appointments. As a queer person, it has also been very important to me that David is very open minded and excited about some of the more gender non-conforming cuts I've gotten. I've had stylists refuse to give me the cut I wanted because it "wouldn't look good on a woman" or "it's out of style". David has never done that, but has always enthusiastically helped me find a cut that both affirms me AND looks good. I always feel very safe at his salon. It's a single chair salon, so you don't have to worry about other patrons. He always checks temperatures and disinfects everything before and after use. Waiting patrons wait outside where there is plenty of space for you to pass by without entering within 6 feet.

I went to Fringe and Frolic to get my first haircut since the start of the Pandemic. David gave me an excellent cut and is an amazing conversationalist. I was literally laughing for a full hour, and got lots of good local recommendations for local food and drinks. Love that as I'm new to the neighborhood. Speaking of new to the neighborhood, this salon (as of Oct '20) was just started by David and has up-and-coming vibes, with all of the upside and none of the downside. He casually explained his many years of training and experience working at Gary Manuel studios and other places in Seattle, and it showed. The whole experience was fantastic top to bottom, the salon, the results, and artist himself are just wonderful and I can't wait to visit Fringe and Frolic again.

This was my first time at Fringe and Frolic, and I am very happy with his service. David's salon is single customer by design. The salon doors open onto a very nice deck. The day of my cut was decent weather, so the double doors were open, creating a fresh calm environment. David also took all the necessary safety measures for COVID, including taking my temp, prior to beginning the appointment. The design of the space, combined with the attention to health and safety is VERY reassuring during these times. David is very professional. He uses only high quality products. He is easy to communicate with, and I am a bit fussy about my asymmetrical cut-so for me, this ability is necessary. Because you are the only customer in his salon, you will have his undivided attention. I think Fringe and Frolic is on its way to becoming a jewel in the Alaska Junction.
