Emma Dixon has been cutting my hair for years now, and I’m so thankful to have found her. She’s an expert at her job, but, more than that, it feels like catching up with a good friend every time I come by. I recently brought my four-year-old son and my mother to Emma, so she’s now cut three generations of hair in my family. Emma is such a beautiful soul and possesses an incredible artistic talent for her craft. Sitting in her chair is more than just a haircut - it's an experience. I found her years ago and have never looked back. She knows exactly how to take your ideas and craft a haircut that is exactly what you want and with her own personal touches that enhance the cut even more. She gets to know you, your style, and your hair and she knows how to a haircut whether creative and new or timeless and a classic. She is by far better with my hair than any stylist I’ve ever been to before. I’ve never received the exact same haircut from her because she truly tailors her cuts instead following some scripted formula. Outside of the haircut, she's just a wonderful person, and time in her chair will never leave you feeling anything short of joyful. I HIGHLY recommend her, and truly can't say enough good things about this amazing human.

Emma possesses such an effortlessly warm and welcoming energy. I was referred to her by a friend of mine who is also a client of hers, and everything great she had mentioned to me about Emma leading up to my initial appointment was entirely spot on. She is an exceptional stylist, a great communicator, and a lovely soul. She listened to my likes and dislikes, worked with my long and short term hair goals, and executed it perfectly. Throughout our appointment, we had meaningful conversation and learned a lot about each other. As a LGBTQ+ individual, she made me feel safe, included, and even celebrated. I have been seeing Emma for over three years and followed her here from her previous salon. She does a wonderful job with my hair each time and is always eager to try whatever I request. Wonderful experience with Emma! I moved to Charlotte in 2020 and have really struggled to find a barber that gave me good, consistent haircuts. Fuertes is where ya wanna go if you need a perfect style, done right. Emma Dixon is phenomenal! I have some trauma around having others cut my hair so for the past 2 decades, I’ve cut it myself. I am not trained, I just know my hair. With that being said, I knew I wanted a big chop and for it to look excellent, with my curl pattern and hair texture in mind. I met Emma Dixon (outside of the hair world) and felt instantly that if I were to go to someone, it’d be her. Emma even spaced out extra time around my appt because she knew it was a special moment for me and wanted me to feel safe. She talked me through her WHY, and took extra care explaining my texture and how my cut would sit. I’m writing this on the train on my way to getting my second haircut from her. Not only is she a phenomenal stylist, she’s an incredibly lovely soul.

Typically I do not leave reviews but this is a MUST. If you are looking for more than just a haircut - this is the place for you!! I have been so lucky to find a friend in my hair stylist at Fuertes. Emma doesn't just cut your hair, she connects with you. She understands you and she listens to you. Every time Emma cuts my hair, I walk out of the salon with more confidence and more self love. What else could one ask for when getting a new hairdo?? Emma has cut my hair for almost 3 years now, and she's never given me a haircut I didn't love, from a short pixie cut to a longer bob. She knows how to expertly work with my curly/wavy/frizzy texture and offers very helpful tips and recommendations when asked. Emma is a talented genius with hair. As an introvert, I always feel welcome and comfortable in her chair. Her energy is pure and bright. 10/10 would recommend.
