Three months later and I’m still trying to get my hair to a place where I like it again. I asked for purple and a dark root (to make maintenance easier; I’m naturally brown). My hair was already purple and I had gone to her before to get colored without issue. This time, she bleached me veryyy light blonde all the way to the root (note I stated I wanted a dark root). Then when my head was in the sink she said that she didn’t have anything darker for my root than the purple I wanted for the rest of my hair. She suggested ‘indigo’ and told me that was the best option. Because she’s a professional, I trusted her. My roots were BLUE. When I pulled my hair back it was very bright royal blue and faded to purple. Before I left I told her I was concerned and she just said ‘you’ll be fine’ and sent me on my way. I messaged the next day saying I’m not comfortable going to work like this. She said they were ‘closed on Mondays’ (she’s the owner). I told her I would just go somewhere else to get it fixed and she gave me a partial refund. Fast forward: the person I went to for correction said they can’t do much to fix it because it was newly bleached so I had to deal with it fading from blue to teal to near-green for over a month. I eventually was so over the ugly faded color that I went back to brown (after 5 years of purple), which was hard to do because of the blue pigment (had to tone with red to avoid green). I basically have to continue to put red toner over it to keep it a decent color until it grows out and becomes healthy due to the intense bleach. I can’t explore other colors for a while and I’m stuck just not loving my hair for the foreseeable future. The original look I wanted, in hindsight, did not need a full bleach, esp when she didn’t have the colors to complete the vision (and much of it was already purple). I trusted her because she had done a deep dark root + purple before without issue. I wish I would have trusted my gut for the sake of keeping my hair healthy and I’m writing this as caution to others.

I've been going to Maley for 5 years, and she probably gives the best haircuts I've ever gotten. She is also a pro at interpreting a look and tailoring it to you, as opposed to just copying a hairstyle that might not really work for your oversized head (👀). She's also great to talk to--just make an appointment and get a cut now. You won't be disappointed.

I needed a change and Maley provided the best advice and perfect execution. She is efficient, affordable and super friendly. She understood my thick and undisciplined hair and delivered a fantastic pixie cut. I get compliments on my hair all the time. So happy I found her!!!!

Had a great experience! This was my first time coming here and I’ll definitely be back and have already recommended to my friends in the area. The salon is cute, clean and has a nice relaxing environment- and great music! Maley is so sweet and made me feel comfortable right away. She listened to what I asked for and gave me exactly the cut I was envisioning and was communicative throughout the process. She was also very accommodating- I was in desperate need of a cut and she was able to squeeze me in at the end of the next day which I really appreciated.

Took my two children here- first hair cut experience for one of them. It was great. Not the overly fluffy over priced over stimulating child oriented experience everyone seems to recommend but also now my son has the best hair cut of all his friends and it was only 25 dollars. The owner is lovely. I will be returning for myself.

Judith is incredibly talented. I've got wavy-curly hair and prefer a low-maintenance routine and have really struggled to find someone who knows what to do with my hair. Judith listened to me, taught me about my hair and talked me through realistic expectations, and gave me E X A C T L Y what I was hoping for. I was out the door in less than 45 minutes. My only complaint was that the atmosphere was so impeccable that I could've stayed all day.

I consider myself a hair dresser loyalist, and I’ve been tasked with finding a new go-to salon in NY since moving here in 2021. I saw Judith and I was so pleased! Great energy, kind, and my hair has never looked better. She gave me exactly what I wanted- length, and added some layers to balance it out. I left the salon feeling happy and sexy. Judith is incredible--both her energy, and her hair-cutting skills. I swear she has given me the best haircuts of my life—and it never takes more than 45 minutes (at the longest). She makes it look great the day of, AND it grows out soooo well. As someone with curly-ish hair, I've gotten a lot of bad cuts in my life and I'm so grateful to have found Judith--I won't let anyone else touch my hair now! I've also referred many of my friends—and even my mom!—to her. The salon is clean and lovely, and Judith is a joy to be around <3

Had a great haircut with Maley! After years of keeping it long I decided to chop it all off (see pics). Maley took her time and worked with me to shape my hair, as well as prepare the leftovers to be donated. Friendly staff, chill vibe, highly recommend!

Just got back from getting my hair cut here and I loved it! My hair stylist was Lay and she was super friendly and welcoming. She immediately understood what I wanted and was very thorough while cutting my hair. The environment was also relaxing and clean. I’m glad they’re so close to where I live because I’ll definitely be coming back!

Maley is amazing! I followed her over to this salon from her last location because she is that stellar. She has a keen eye for detail and is especially masterful with color. I’ve been different shades of blonde for decades, and her knowledge of toning and dimension are beautiful. It is clear to me she takes her time and does things very well for every customer that comes through the doors each day. She gave me the very color and cut I wanted with minimal reference photos needed and talked me through exactly what I wanted. The ambiance is lovely- her shampoo chairs are the most comfortable as they can raise and massage and her music playlist is funky, soulful, and upbeat. Maley is great a hair but also a positive force- she was accommodating with my schedule, calming when I was nervous to add bangs (they came out perfect), and she exhibits such upbeat centering energy. I highly recommend going to this salon anytime.

My favorite salon in NYC ! Maley is absolutely wonderful. I've gone to her 3 times and was always very happy with the result. I got a blond balayage/ombre and a haircut. I always have very big (not easy to achieve) ideas for my hair and Maley does it while being super nice, professional and taking great care of my hair!! I would 100% recommend to anyone.

This salon saved my life! I thought it’d I’d trim my own hair a week before a big event and I absolutely butchered it. They fit me in on a weekend and even though I’m pretty clueless when it comes to describing what I want, I showed a few photos and Maley nailed it. One of the best haircuts I’ve gotten in my adult life. It feels like me, low fuss, and looks awesome. Found my new hair spot!!
