I saw someone post that this isn't the place to do bright colors... let me tell you how wrong they are. Amanda is the only person I let touch my hair. All of these photos are in the last two years I believe, and my hair still feels soft and looks shiny, even considering how many times it's been colored. I could not recommend G-Salon more. Amanda has done my hair every color and combination I can think of. I have been on a green blue kick lately, but she has done them all. She's also awesome to talk to while she works. Make sure to book with her and I promise you won't regret it.

Chris Lee did a phenomenal job with my hair! He chopped off about 8 inches and gave me a total transformation. The scalp massage during the shampoo was an unexpected bonus! I was cautious on trusting someone with such a big hair cut, especially having wavy hair, but it feels like I got a makeover. Thank you, Chris, for refreshing my confidence and giving me a whole new style! Will definitely be my go-to guy for any future hair decision.

Short version: Don't go for vibrant colors. I like G Salon, but I won't be coming again. I've been seeing Chris a few years and usually get a similar haircut and then some vibrant pop color dyes. Usually the cut is great, but multiple times the color is wrong. Once I asked for hot pink and got purple. This latest I asked for teal and got pastel blue. For the cost I will just use Overtone at home. Chris shouldn't offer services for colors if he doesn't know how to mix them properly. Aside from that it's a nice salon, quiet, relaxing, simple.

I asked these guys a day in advance if they offer olaplex to which they said yes. I went there for my olaplex treatment and while they are applying creams on my hair it felt as this was not the olaplex as I’m used to it. After it was done, I asked the lady to show me bottles she used - she panicked and said they are just the regular bottles. Actually, it was some fake treatment that they did and charged my $90 for that. How frustrating!!! Disappointing!

I generally feel uncomfortable and usually go to supercuts type places. I do not regret risking the money for this salon. Maybel is amazing and she helped reccomend style and she explained everything she was doing and why as she went along the atommosphere was relaxing as well. I could not recommend a better place.

I'm always wary of new hair salons and stylists since the experience can be a toss-up and paying for a bad haircut is super disappointing. My visit to G Salon, however, exceeded all possible expectations. The place was clean and inviting. My temperature was taken for covid safety. Even the hair washing chair was obscenely comfortable (featuring a head rest so your head didn't awkwardly hang into the bowl, and a foot rest for extra chill). But best of all, Chris knew *exactly* what I was trying to describe for my haircut. He recommended good styling techniques for my hair type (which I know are accurate based on what I've intuitively learned about my hair over the years). Like an artist, he put extra detail into the finishing touches at the very end. He knew what he was doing, and I legitimately felt like I was in good hands. I'm beyond pleased with the final result, and breathing a sigh of relief to have finally found a stylist that gets me.

Haircut with Amanda. She did okay in the back (simple trim and relayer), but did a lousy job with my bangs, despite showing her multiple photos of what I wanted both of myself and of stock photos. At the end when she finished, it was obvious she had messed up the haircut (the bangs were very frizzy and not well cut). I had to tell her how to fix them (i.e. thin them out because I have thick hair, which she knew) and still, after her lousy job, they looked awful. It was clear she knew this, but it was near closing time (even though it had only been 1 hour since I'd been there), and she just kind of shrugged it off "It'll look better when you wash your hair". Just overall really poor service. It's obvious she can't cut hair on anyone who doesn't have fine hair. It cost me $70, so at the very least I expected someone who wasn't a complete amateur.

I have been getting my haircut with Mabel for the past 8+ years. Over the course of those 8 years I have not always been living out of San Francisco, but without fail always come back here because Mabel does such a great job. Great ambiance and great haircuts at a really affordable price!

Chris is the absolute best!! I have really thick, curly, and frizzy hair that know one has been able to cut and/or style my whole life until I met Chris. In fact, I straightened it for years because I just didn't know what else to do and either did any hairstylists. He has made me love my curls and was able to cut an style my hair in a way that enhances my hair type not hide it. I am now able to leave it curly and it doesn't cost a lot in product or time. I now love my curls and Chris! Thanks G Salon!

Had my first appt with Chris yesterday. He did an amazing job! My husband told me it was the best haircut I've had in years. The color and cut were totally on point. Chris glanced at the pic I gave him for a quick second and nailed the cut making a few alterations d/t the characteristics of my hair. Definitely going back! So lucky I happened upon him.

Question: How many heads do you have? One, right? So shouldnt you make that one head look good? If you are blessed with hair, then you owe it to yourself (and those less fortunate) to treat it well. That's what G Salon will do. If you go somewhere cheap and quick it's doing yourself a disservice, not to mention laughing in the face of those among us who aren't so lucky to have a dull head of hair. So many. You care about yourself, right? And you care about others? Well, show it. There's no need to spend more than what G Salon costs (about $50) because that's enough for an amazing, attentive cut by pros who have seen and done it all. But also I wouldn't spend much less on a haircut eithrt. Worth every penny.
