I was looking for somewhere to go to get my wash and set for the holidays. There were so many different mixed reviews for every salon I looked at so I just decided to give this one a try. So worth it. I was welcomed when I walked in, and sat at the back for my wash, it was about 4 people in front of me waiting to be washed and only one lady washing at first. It surprisingly went by quickly when another lady came to help. I made sure to discuss the price before sitting in the chair because I do have a lot of hair and I am not Hispanic, the lady who washed my hair didn’t speak English so the owner gave me the pice of $70 which I was happy about. I really didn’t want to bargain with anything higher than that. The wash was great I made sure to comb out my hair before sitting in the chair because I’m how they get with my hair texture. The roller process went very smoothly I thought I would’ve been under the dryer longer but wasn’t and the heat wasn’t bad at all. BG did my blow out after and she did AMAZINGGGG!!! She made sure to spray my hair down with heat protectant through every step and I was very happy about that!!! She handled my hair with so much care. The owner let me know it would be and extra $15 to cut my ends which I happily declined and did at home. Overall great experience, definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for a quick wash and set. I recommend coming early.

HAIR MILL. The good thing is you can walk in, they won't turn you away. I still had to wait more than a half hour. Seating is very limited. I did call ahead of time to make an appointment but they didn't have a receptionist, it was the young son of the owner so I couldn't get info, I wasn't even sure it was the salon I called because it sounded like I dialed a person's cell phone by mistake and he was very short on speaking. The major problems I had- the lady who attended me for all of the services did not speak English, no prices are listed or mentioned at all until the lady who did my hair figured everything out when she passed by the register, they don't take credit/debit cards at all, they really should be upfront and give you price estimates beforehand. No one speaks English or is comfortable with speaking English except the owner. I did not witness any hair tools being disinfected the whole time I was there. There were I think about 5-7 women working as fast as they can. They put you to sit under the big drying hood between services. Haircolor application, dryer hood, trim, wash, deep condition, hood, etc. Dryer hood was about 20-30 each time, a lot of heat on your scalp. Actual service once it began is very rushed and hurried, no convo, no questions asked, no details given. I also noticed that no customer knew what brands or kinds of stuff was being used on their hair because they went to get it and you never got a glimpse of any boxes or bottles. There is almost no communication between customer and worker except if you know Spanish. Almost all communication was between the owner and her staff. They talked about me as I got my hair done. Looking Spanish seemed to finally get me to the chair to get my services started but once they found out I was not Spanish, they felt free to talk about me. They were very unhappy and irritated that I didn't want to chop off a lot of my hair. I had to really insist for the lady not to chop it very short. I let the owner know I only want a very little trim. After repeated trimmings to keep making the cut even, it was more than just a little trim. I didn't see customers with long hair. The haircolor was ok but the wash after was super rough, so rough that the skin at my whole front hairline was damaged for many months. It's still not the same. I have delicate, thin skin. The lady was trying to scrub off the color stain from the hair dye but had she put enough vaseline, it would not have stained. I don't even remember if she put any protectant for my hairline and ears before coloring and neither can I ask anything because I don't speak Spanish. Each of the staff seemed to be taking care of at least 5 people at a time. I was asked about a deep condition and I said ok. So she put it on me and sat me under the dryer hood again. I felt like something was very wrong from the time she applied whatever it was because every conditioner I've used or have had put on me has been thick and fragrant. However this liquid that was put on me had no fragrance, was very very thin and smelled of strong chemicals. And mind you I have very genetically straight hair, no curls, no perm and not very thick. My hair is pretty straight and thin, easy to comb. The blowdryer was on hottest and right at my scalp, no matter how many times I was screaming and squirming in pain. She was upset with me because I didn't want to sit under the hooded dryer again. Then she was trimming again and again, holding the scissors vertically because she had trimmed my hair so unevenly before. So all in all, I was charged $170 (only cash is accepted, no receipt or business card given). It seemed extremely steep for trim, semi permanent color just for roots, wash, deep coditioner(let's be honest that was probably relaxer which I never used or needed in my whole life), and blowdry. She kept dropping stuff in the sink while washing my hair, trying to detangle it. Never going back.

Overcharged for natural hair washing $42 when online prices are different. My fault for not doing my research first! No roller set or blow dry. Twisted my own hair because she didn’t know how.

February 08/24 around 5:45 pm, I left work at 2pm since I live all the way in Suffock county. Due to a wedding engagement I have to attend the next day. Leaving work and rushing I still ending up being late due to traffic. Even though I got there after closing since the shop closed at 5 pm the staff there still took me base on my situation this salon is not only caring , considerate but clean and organized. The employees are professional, kind not to mention there service is spectacular! You can tell they all enjoy there jobs. I would recommend this salon to every one, they will not be disappointed.

So I’ve been going here for a while on and off only due to my job but I had a boxtox treatment over 7 months ago and my hair is healthier, beautiful and long they really know what they are doing and I absolutely love this place.

Curly girl here who has a mix of 3abc hair. I’ve been going to Magda for the past 6 years. I started going here after I bleached my hair and it was very damaged. I wanted to grow my hair out and had been recommended her by my sister. A lot of hair stylists are scissor happy but never Magda. She took her time to grow my hair out and even recommended me products to take care of my hair when straight AND curly. To the people saying their curls were damaged, as someone with a combination of looser and tighter curls, I have never experienced this before. My sister and my best friend are also curly girls and have had their hair done here multiple times and yet no heat damage. I take responsibility for my curls when I go to a hair straightening salon because this is not a curls speciality shop. It’s important that us curly girls acknowledge that our hair requires extra maintenance. Magda always uses heat protector but I also bring my own spray for extra support. A bottle costs $10 and lasts for a year. I think taking this little step goes a long way.

I was in search of a salon because my regular salon is no longer open on Sundays. I’m so happy that I found Galaxy Evolution Hair Designers! Morena did my semi permanent hair color, my roller set and blow dry was done by Magda. Both came out beautifully, and I now have a new salon to go to because I’m that impressed with the quality of work, and their professionalism. The salon is very clean, the employees are friendly, and the music wasn’t loud at all, lol. I would gladly recommend this salon to anyone looking for an excellent Dominican hair salon.

Was suggested to go here for a new do! So happy I came. Magda hooked me up. Between Thursday (6/23) and today (6/25) I've been approached at least 5X with compliments and 3 ladies asked for her info. My family loves the style too. The ladies r really nice/helpful. While I speak very little Spanish, it didn't bother me they communicated with one another n Spanish. I come here from the Fort Greene/Clinton Hill section of Brooklyn but it's worth it bc prices r reasonable for such professional service. Of course this is my new hair do spot!! ❤ 😍 💖

Curly girls beware…. I’m have type 4a hair. Alondra did my hair and I now have permanent heat damage from the blowout. I’ve done blowouts but never experienced any damage. I washed my hair after 2 weeks and my curls are so loose and the roots of the left side of hair hair is completely bone straight. As someone who heavily wore wash and go’s prior, this style is no longer possible. So disappointed! If you’re natural please beware.

The alondra was very unprofessional. She was not listening to me at all. She was trying to hurry me through my service which costed me $90. I wanted her to rinse my hair out at the nape some more as my hair grows way down on my neck. She started to argue and for the entire time she was working on my hair she was talking over me to her coworkers. This caused her to burn me at the nape with the flat iron which she added $5 more. She took me from under the dryer before my hair was dried to blow it instead. I was not pleased with her service.

I usually love this place but... I came on a monday around 2pm and there is only one person to blow dry your hair (Angela). FYI i wanted a wash and blow. No rollers. The other girl apparently only washes hair and sits in the back and picks her nose. Beyond disgusting. My visit did not need to take as long as it did. They literally have me sitting with my hair air drying waiting for my turn to blow dry. They should've left my deep conditioner in then if that was the case. I am very unhappy with this experience. I really want to turn up and speak my mind but I will keep my mouth shut and place my review here. Not sure if I want to come back.

I started going to this salon since my hairdresser for over 15 years moved away. I was a bit nervous but not anymore. The place is clean and modernized. I felt comfortable and have no complaints. I received good tips for my hair care process, my hair was washed thoroughly , and I was very pleased with how my hair turned our. I’m taking my mom there too.
