Over sold and under delivered. Brilliant marketing team. They clearly spend a lot of time in this sector of the hair business. Not great at color or color correction. I left with banding on my natural hair and was told no one would notice. Luxury? Meh. Not from the client side. It’s nice for sure but I wouldn’t say luxury. I loved my initial “transformation day”. Hair was everything I wanted. It went downhill from there. To be transparent, I previously left a 5 star review for Garnish. i just could not keep it up after certain issues and how I was made to feel at my last visit. No disrespect. Clearly doing good things for women with hair loss and their mesh integration system. As for extension services and color? It's a bit over hyped and over priced in my opinion. EDIT to clear up false accusations after Garnish responded- Fact - I did love my hair after first install. You did do the right thing by replacing what you called a “bad batch”. That’s not me being a problem customer. That is advocating for myself. As far as other salons reaching out to you - STOP TELLING LIES. “Going back years” is hilarious because I haven’t lived in the area that long. Do not question my character because I left an honest review. Your professional response says more about you than it does me.

Lily is amazing. She really took the time to walk me through the extension process and answered all my questions patiently. I loved how personal the experience was. You can REALLY tell how much these people love what they do. Building a trusting relationship is so important when it comes to life’s insecurities and they do just that!!

Update- June 2024- (last 3 pics) I’ve never changed a rating I’ve left before but I feel like as someone who has clients reading my business reviews, it’s important to be truthful. You can read my initial experience below which was 5 star from my first experience to today. Yet Today I change my review because of the condition my hair is in 6 months after having my extensions. My hair was very fragile (pic #1) when I came to Garnish. My goal was to preserve it and give it some volume so I would feel good again. Unfortunately- my hair was more damaged as a result of having too heavy of wefts- pictures 3 & 4 you can see the hair follicles pulled out of my head & being held in by the weft in three different contact points. Backing up- I didn’t realize that the hair was too heavy. I initially went to another salon for a consult because I wanted an opinion on the quality of hair I was given. The hair from the second week was extremely brittle and snapping off (everywhere) I easily had lost 6-8 inches from the initial install over the 6 months. At every appointment I brought up my concern with the hair dryness & was told to try another product- which I bought. I spent THOUSANDS of dollars at Garnish between move ups, hair, products, extension coloring, and gratuity. When I did the math, I would have spent close to 15k in order to maintain the look I had. Most people don’t have an extra 15k to spend on hair to make them feel good due to hair loss. None of the products resolved the brittle hair. The only time the hair felt “normal” was when I had it colored after my first move up. I thought the color was too blonde at the ends and asked for it to be toned down. That was over $250 and washed out before my next move up - 6 weeks later. Upon consulting with other extension specialists in the area, I came to the conclusion that I would no longer be able to be a patron at Garnish for two reasons. 1- the quality of hair I was given- was not commensurate to the cost I was paying. 2- the services offered at move ups were too expensive for no extension care being included (especially with the concerns I was addressing). You cannot spray more hair product over the extension and make its texture / quality stop from breaking and snapping. 3- the cost for new hair was over $3300- and something I’m unable/unwilling to spend money on. I recognize that #3 means I’m not in the ideal avatar client for a high end salon, yet I can say I got a new set of Covet & Mane hair (brand) extensions done at another salon with hair washing, coloring, scalp massage, install, cut, styling + gratuity + 4 products for 1/2 the cost of my initial install at Garnish. Lastly- I did reach out to Garnish to express my dissatisfaction. The owner Candice did make herself available for a call yet we never were able to connect. She did offer to have me come in and work with me/ hear my concerns/ make it right. What that would have looked like financially for me I don’t know. I do appreciate her efforts which is why I gave my new review a 3 vs a 2. While my experience in the end was not favorable for my long term hair care, I would encourage anyone to do their due diligence and make sure you understand what type of hair you’re getting (research the name brands), the method (I like the NBR method they use), how much hair is really needed (that you pay for) to achieve your look (don't overpay for extra hair at the expense of ruining what you have- less can be more). Pic 1- BEFORE Pic 2- AFTER In Dec 2023 I saw Reece & want to bring him home with me. As soon as came in for the consultation he greeted me with the most beautiful energy which brought me to tears. We discussed my concerns and I showed him my ideal pictures to bring back my confidence after a hormonal shift began to cause hair shedding/thinning. Working with Reece is like having your own pep squad next to you. When he was done, the entire staff clapped and cheered. An amazing & magical experience for sure. I love my new hair & am getting used to the extra time needed to care for it.

Called for just a pricing and didn’t answer within half a second due to the person mumbling and cutting out and got hung up on! I can definitely tell there’s warm and welcoming energy from this salon! Called back and put the phone on silent! Definitely had to leave my feedback really quick!

I was nervous on where to get and what type of extensions would be best. I am with Lex and she has made sure my whole experience has been absolutely amazing! When I got my first set of extensions, she matched what I wanted to a T, color and everything. The education, feel, and whole vibe of this place is on another level. What makes this place even more spectacular; after I got my extensions I went to Greece and thought swimming in a lava pool was a good idea (totally my fault). After my hair was acting up. Lexi listened to my concerns and presented different options for repair that would match my budget and fix the issue. When I wasn't sure the best step forward, her and the owner took ownership and found a solution that didn't break the bank but made sure in the end I was completely happy with my hair. Truly an excellent place. Always happy to go in and see everyone who works there! 10/10 recommend.

Wanted to love it, but I ended up with a nightmare experience. First off, I want to say that I had 3 sets of hair from there. The first set was incredible. The hair, the styling, the stylist, everything was perfect. Giving 2 stars overall because my first experience was 5 stars. It was life changing. But things went downhill after that. The second year I got a new set that immediately started knotting up at the top. It was horrible. It would rip my extensions and my hair out to brush it. It would tangle right after brushing and I would have a big ball of a knot in my hair constantly. It. was a bad set of hair. So the next year in my new set, I was upgraded to a higher quality of hair and at a slight discount. I was satisfied with the way it was handled. However, I wanted to go with a bold transformation to a dark auburn color with copper highlights. The stylist couldn’t get the color right. I was processed 3 times by the stylist and then a fourth by the salon owner. I was told all this processing wouldn’t hurt my hair because it was “gentle”. That was a huge lie. It ruined my new extensions AND my natural hair. My natural hair started breaking off. So I lost THOUSANDS of dollars in the hair and the color that I paid for and was left with broken frail hair. That’s not to mention the days worth of my time sitting in the salon for all of these color processes. After that I went to another stylist at a different salon. We ended up trashing the extensions because they were in such bad shape. Then we had to baby my hair back to health for over a year. That meant no extensions and masking the color with a dark color overall. It was pretty humiliating and not at all what I wanted my look to be. It’s a year and a half later and my natural hair that used to be very long was still too short to put in new 22” extensions. (It had broken off to my chin in the front). I’m just now getting a single row of 18” and finally some initial highlights. The situation was really upsetting and I have been in the fence about sharing my experience, but ultimately I think it needs to be known to others. When you pay for a high end service, you should be expect high end results. I realize that mistakes happen, but at least refund the thousands of dollars and make it right, rather than leaving customers with broken hair and ruined extensions.

I came to Garnish as a model for Lily, and it was the best experience I have had yet while getting my hair done! The salon itself is a dream and makes you feel comfortable, relaxed, and cozy. Now LILY is the BEST! She took her time with my hair and made sure to get the color and cut that I wanted. BEST shampoo I have ever had... I could go back everyday for a shampoo from Lily! I have never been fully satisfied with the cut and color of my hair until Lily did it. Lex & Amanda are amazing at what they do! I battled with my thin hair for so many years and had essentially given up before finding this studio. Lily did my makeup for a photo shoot..she never did my makeup before so I was slightly nervous how it would turn out..I’m a creature of habit and so used to doing it myself…well!!!!! Reece literally knocked it out of the park! I’ve spent my entire life with very fine/thin hair. Throughout my life I’ve always bleached my hair which made the condition of my hair even worse. I had received hair extensions back in December from another Salon and was mortified. They did not look natural and I had them removed 3 days later. Fast forward to January, I had my consultation appointment and Reece took the time to listen to my wants/needs as well as hear me complain about my last experience. After the consultation, we put a plan together for my return! On the day of my install, I felt like a queen!!! I was greeted by name by all the lovely Stylist and immediately asked if I wanted anything to drink or snack on. I was prepared to be there for a while and they even had lunch delivered for me! After a few hours and Reece’s magical touch, I could not be happier with my outcome! The blend, the color, the feel of my extensions are amazing!!! This salon wants the entire process to be a wonderful experience for their clients. This is by far the best salon I have ever been to! And whether Reece likes it or not… he’s stuck with me now!!! 😉
