I can not recommend this place enough! When I first got my haircut with Marcus I wa BLOWN away. He was so welcoming and So talented. I was heartbroken on my second trip back when I realized I couldnt book with him that day but after my appointment with Jett my worries completely subsided. Both of the stylist are so amazing. The level of professionalism is unmatched. The salon is cute trendy and clean. And The stylist are exceptionally good at finding the exact haircut for you and making sure that you get the absolute most out of their hair treatment plan. Ill be a returning customer for sure!10/10.☆

I love this boutique style Gene Juarez, I spent many years going to the Gene Juarez in Tacoma and this is such a different experience. More intimate and approachable. Jae P was recommended to me by my long time Gene Juarez stylist, both haircuts I've gotten from him have exceeded my expectations, I am so happy to have found a salon and stylist close to home that gives me the haircut I am looking for. I also purchased a couple of products after asking my stylist for recommendations, I did not feel like I was pressured into purchasing anything, which I greatly appreciate. 10/10 would recommend, Jae P and this Gene Juarez location.

Michelle does a wonderful job with lash extensions and brows! She always provides an easy and comfortable experience. They’re easy to keep clean and I get a lot of compliments on my eyelashes. Front desk is also very attentive and helpful. I wouldn’t want to go anywhere else.

It was my first time at this SLU location and from the reception to the end of my visit, it was very pleasant. The salon was not blindingly lit like some of the other salons, but cozy and warm. The heated towels were an added comfort on a cold, rainy day, and Jet was very skilled and knowledgeable, and paid special attention to every detail. I think I’ve found “my salon” for the future!

Seth is a great colorist. He’ll make suggestions if he feels necessary, he listens to what you want (or you want to try), and we’ll collaborate together. He’s easy going and I like he keeps up with the news (smile), as I’m a news junkie. He’s both friendly and professional. Also, I like the lighting at their South Lake Union salon. What I see in the mirror jives with my mirrored lighting in my own bathroom, so there are no surprises. Parking is generally easy to snag a spot in front (street parking), depending on time of day, but I rarely encounter problems. The furthest I’ve ever had to park was a short 2-blocks away. While I miss the Pine Street location, which closed unexpectedly during the Pandemic, I was glad this Gene Juarez salon opened up and is very close to where I live. It’s quite small in comparison to Pine Street, but the quality of its stylists and colorists are the same. I’ve been a loyal Gene Juarez customer for at least 17-years now.

I’ve been getting my hair cut by Amanda for a while now, and am always satisfied with my haircut. She’s fantastic with barber-style haircuts and really listens to exactly what I’m looking for. Amanda is super easy to talk to, which makes each appointment enjoyable, and she always provides amazing service. She also keeps detailed notes on my haircut preferences, ensuring each cut is precise and consistent. If you’re looking for a skilled, thoughtful barber Amanda is the one!

After receiving a gift card for my birthday, I visited the SLU location for the first time. I had an amazing, relaxing 30 minute hydrafacial session with Michelle - she was wonderful! I left feeling very taken care of, with glowy, hydrated, plump looking skin, which was my hope & goal. My exact words were “I’m obsessed!” after she showed me my complexion in the mirror. She also informed me at each stage of the facial, what she was doing and what benefit it has to the skin. Highly recommend and I will definitely be going back!!

I had an excellent experience here yesterday! I saw Seth G for a balayage and he was very thorough and kind. I saw Marcus F for a haircut and he was a pleasure to watch cut hair, not only my hair but also my daughters hair. I recommend both of them as they were so wonderful and highly skilled! They were extremely kind and I’m so grateful for how compassionate, patient, and accommodating they were to me being post stroke. They even let my daughter sit in the chair next to me to assure my comfort and ability to communicate was taken care of. I highly recommend Gene Juarez as I always have an amazing experience there, not only with their stylists but everyone there including the receptionist!

I was here yesterday for myself and my mom and everyone was fantastic! Marcus F cut both my hair and my moms hair. We both had an amazing experience! Marcus did a phenomenal job with my curly hair and allowed me to ask all my questions with a smile on his face and gave me excellent advice. He recommended both of us products and actually showed me how to style my hair with them. My hair has never looked so beautifully full and curly! I didn’t even recognize myself when he spun me around to look in the mirror, I put my glasses on and was in shock! His expertise was obvious and I feel so lucky to have been blessed with him cutting both my hair and my moms hair! He cut my hair 3 times to be extra thorough and tailored to each of my individual curls! I highly recommend Gene Juarez as everyone there was so lovely from the stylists and receptionists to the other clients around me! If you have the chance to have your haircut done by Marcus F I would highly recommend! I’ve never felt more comfortable at a hair appointment. His energy and confidence with handling hair made me comfortable and confident I was in good hands and I definitely was! Thank you Marcus!

Paula is amazing at curly cuts and color! I have had a hard time moving to Seattle and finding someone that does a good dry curly cut. We agree on length and shape before cutting starts so there are no surprises with Paula giving her expert feedback. She also mixed a perfect red for my my hair that matched my "natural when I was born-30" hair color.

Seth is indeed a hair color rockstar! After searching for the perfect hairdresser during my time in the States over the past three years, I finally found the one who hasn't disappointed me! Jae Pak is the best hair designer. He’s attentive, listens to what you’re looking for and works his skills to make it even better than what you had imagine. Highly recommend Jae for haircuts and special updos. Also, the rest of the Gene Juarez staffs were friendly and helpful.

Making your way in the world today takes EVERYTHING you got and taking a break from all your worries sure WOULD help a lot, but this isn’t the 80s and you’re not Ted Danson. You may not even be Frasier Crane. But on the subject of Frasier, if a decent men’s haircut in Seattle is going to cost you, don’t you deserve the best possible return on that investment? I believe you do. So do your entire lifestyle a favor and go see Amanda Lufkin at Gene Juarez in South Lake Union. Your haircut will be so exceptional that you may be moved to tears over it during more private moments, wondering hopelessly if you’re as good at anything as Amanda is at hair styling (spoiler alert…you’re not). Amanda cares about getting the details right, and by the sheer power of personality, she’ll also make the experience something you look forward to. Follicularly, you’ll just look better. But personally, you’ll just BE better. You deserve to take this advice. You can thank me later. I’ll be the one who looks as good as you do in all the places where everybody now knows your name.

Highly recommend Seth for color! He’s been my go-to for a couple years, and it’s abundantly clear this is his passion. He’s great about answering questions or explaining the hows and whys of color, as well as product recommendations to ensure maximum longevity of treatment. Not to mention, Seth’s a delightful human to chat with, and makes every visit a positive experience!
