DeDe absolutely went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and understood about my complicated hair relationship. I felt so at ease, had many laughs, and walked away with a haircut that I absolutely love. I felt like a collaborative team and it was the perfect experience for me.

I absolutely loved this place !!! Dede was my stylist and she was amazing. Listened to my likes and dislikes and I let her do what she thought would be good for my sorta lifestyle. I originally was thinking of doing a pixie but was super unsure of that commitment. So she settled for a shorter hair style with layers and she trimmed down my sides to have a little chic but modern style that I wanted. and she did it so well!! Very impressed by her and the shop and services they had I will definitely be returning !! Parking is a little tricky but that didn’t even bother me after the experience I had 🥰 I also brought my 7 year old in with me as I am a mom. And DeDe handled her so well even when she kept coming over and wanting to show us funny videos and see what was going on.

I took my Lebanese daughter here for a trial hair do for her wedding. Thank god I did it way before the wedding. She went in with a picture of lowlights and the hairdresser talked her out of it and did blonde highlights. Two weeks later she called me crying and hating it. I sent her a bottle of brown dye and a friend put it on the blonde parts. The blonde still seeps through and I will be doing her hair when she comes home for Christmas. It's really quite simple, listen to the client. This is why I have not gone to a hairdresser for 30 years. They don't listen. I paid $500 after getting the conditioner that my daughter was told she needed. It cost less to have my teeth whitened by a medical professional.

Love this salon and I had the pleasure of working with several stylist over the past few years. Everyone is professional, listens to what I am looking for a makes suggestions that work best for my hair ( baby fine). I most recently worked with Syd for the last year and she was wonderful! Prices are good and service always great.

🧡 I love this salon!!! Always a fun time with great results and a customized experience. Karina is my regular stylist, and she is SO fun to bond with over weird stuff while giving me the exact cut I want. While she was on vacay I saw Dakota for my first balayage in years. She got me what I was looking for while being fun to talk to yet efficient, even at 8am. Heard they treat their employees well and it shows.

Dede was AMAZING! Such a lovely person and phenomenal stylist! It was my first day in Portland after moving and I couldn’t have imagined I’d feel so welcome and at home already! The salon was so cozy and everyone was friendly. I love my new cut and will definitely be coming back again and again <3

Ginger Salon is now Ginger and Maude and is still fantastic. They are experienced and give great haircuts, etc. They have multiple locations for their clients convenience. I also like that they only have two chairs per salon so it is a more private experience. I highly recommend them.

I’d been wanting my very long, thick, curly hair layered a certain way for years but hadn’t been able to convey my wishes into the hair I wanted until I came to see Delaney. I absolutely love love love what she did! My hair is full of bouncy curls that frame my face just the way I wanted. I’m so happy. Thank you Delaney! You’re an artist.

Jennifer did AN AMAZING JOB!! Gave me my dream hair and completely transformed my botched hair. From orange to sandy blonde and beautiful layers that gave my hair a flowy mystical feel. And the price was insanely good. She’s so sweet and so easy to talk to,absolutely loved the experience 1000000/10

Karina was excellent and really listened to what I was asking for. She tuned into my own hair history and was very candid in her recommendations without trying to push anything on me. I LOVE my cut!! She did a just perfect job of tuning into the natural waves and my hair maintenance routine ( or lack thereof! lol) The result is an "easy to style" when I'd like, or naturally dried, great head of healthy grey hair!! I hadn't booked a follow up apmnt yet, but I SHALL RETURN! Thanks for your very conveniently located Salon too!

I am madly in love with my haircut and my new forever (I hope!) stylist, Meg. After growing my hair out (the longest it’s ever been) for my upcoming wedding, I decided I’d been wrong and needed to cut it all off. Meg spent a long time consulting with me about what I did and didn’t want, whether I’d be happy with my decision come wedding-time, looking at photos, and then proceeded to give me the best hair cut and haircut experience I have EVER had. She is so smart, kind, and funny, and all my (pretty intense) anxiety left as soon as we started talking. And yeah, she’s also crazy talented—wavy hair is its own weird animal, and not all good stylists are good with it, but she is! The salon itself is small, clean, bright and airy, with only two chairs, so it has an intimate feel and isn’t loud and overwhelming like many others I’ve been to. Also, their AC was phenomenal in the midst of the heat wave. I was so worried I’d leave crying and with a foot less hair…and I did leave with a foot less hair! And I did cry a little, but it was because I was so thrilled!

I can admit that I was kind of going through it on the weekend of my appt, but I was instantly at ease as DeDe gave me a cut that looked exactly like the picture I brought in (Carley Simon, swoon). The salon is intimate, but the neighborhood corner is very social, so it is the best of both worlds. Booking here forever. DeDe is just the sweetest stylist and I loved the entire experience.

I can’t say enough good things about Ginger & Maude! New to the area, this salon was recommended to me by a local. Their evening appointments are really convenient for scheduling during the week if you work a 9-5. The atmosphere is very calm, welcoming, and down to earth. I vaguely knew I wanted a big change but wasn’t sure how it would turn out. Jennifer gave me a shag cut at my request and it turned out WAY better than I even imagined. She walked through the care routine for my hair type and exactly what to expect from a big hair transformation in a way that was really approachable and made me feel confident in the style and how to maintain it. Scheduling was a breeze for the next bang trim. Highly recommend this salon to anyone who has never felt like they’ve received that “perfect haircut” where they had an opportunity to ask all the questions they wanted about their new look.

Meg has been cutting my hair for a while now and never disappoints. She is a true gem. Always listens, works magic on my wavy hair, and gives me a cut that suits my active low- maintenance lifestyle. Plus she's a joy to chat with! Today I treated myself to some bday balayage and she again did a fabulous job. I trust her to always send me home looking and feeling great.

One of the best salon experiences I've ever had. Jennifer was SO nice and took a lot of time to talk to me about my needs and expectations, and even to educate me about different products. I love my haircut and am going back for color. Highly highly recommend!

lemme tell you, this place is so lovely 😭 i got my hair done by Dakota and she is so good at what she does! i went in to get my hair dyed red and she did SO GOOD. like i feel so pretty and she was so gentle with my hair the entire time. she was also super friendly and made the entire experience super enjoyable ♡ i’m definitely coming back again when i wanna get my hair dyed, most comfortable experience hands down ♥
