Today I got hands down the coolest haircut I’ve ever had in my life from Sierra Rose! She sat down with me and my vague description of what I wanted and a collection of photos of the pixie mullet I was looking for, but helped me figure out exactly what would work with my hair. Cannot recommend enough. Took my lifeless, fried, shoulder length hair and performed magic!

My partners and I loved this salon! The stylists are experienced and helpful, and shampoo service is included. Evan, Misty, and Frankie were all great! Expect prices around $100+tip for a basic haircut for long hair. Credit cards are accepted for services, but tips are preferred as cash or venmo. Very queer/trans friendly.

Got my perfect Neapolitan hair done by Evan!!! They are SO NICE and I felt very taken care of. Honestly the best hair experience I’ve ever had. If you want weird cool hair and have been struggling to find stylists that get your vision THIS IS YOUR PLACE. Safe space for queer folk as well which we love ❤️

This place is super cute and welcoming if you're LGBTQ! For my hair, it doesn't look bad, It's just not what I wanted. I'm trying to grow out my natural hair color so I wanted no permanent dye on my roots, and then a bit of a lighter color on my ends. I think this got confused and developer was put on my roots but not on my ends. So since my ends were darker we did a color remover which kinda brutal on my hair and made my scalp really sensitive. So my progress growing out my hair has been reset and my hair is more dry and damaged than before. I do like the layering that was done a lot. The bangs are too short. Overall I wish it was outlined more clearly during the consult what was possible and the price because I was surprised by both. I'll add some before and afters as well as reference photos below!

i went here for my birthday last year and requested a dark blue (reference pictures below) and spent around $400-500 in total. i came out with a greenish bright blue (pictured below) and i literally cried in the car, i would recommend being extremely clear or going somewhere else.

I love everything this business embodies, but I had a bad experience with my blue color dye. The color bleed onto my neck, hands, and clothes. I had to wash my hair multiple times which has faded the orange dye to a yellow. Luckily I love the new yellow but worried about the color fading quicker than expected. I have a before and after all the hair washes and the dye bleeding on my skin. Clothes are a bit worse off, but I am working on trying to get it removed!

Wyatt was absolutely amazing. I don't know how she took my very poor descriptions of what I wanted and gave me exactly what I had been trying to describe. I am getting compliments weeks later; haven't been this happy with my hair in a long time!

I usually don't like to leave bad reviews but I have to warn others with my experience and I was unable to reach whoever is in charge of the salon with my concerns directly. I went in for a hair cut just over 3 weeks ago, after getting a recommendation. I saw one of their junior stylists, who I cannot name because it may lead to my post being taken down, but she had told me she was returning to cutting hair after being away for a while. I got a short cut and quoted $75, and also brought a picture of what I wanted and kept it out for reference through out the cut. I have curly hair, and I asked her if she was comfortable cutting curly hair and she assured me that she loved cutting curly hair. She was super friendly through out the process, I enjoyed talking with her and she was telling me what she was doing to my hair which seemed to make sense to me. She explained that she was cutting some of the weight out of my curls so they would bounce up, I believed her but looking back on the things she was telling me I think she may have been making things up but she seemed very confident so I trusted her. She ended up cutting all of my curls out of my hair, leaving only the ones around my face and I think this only happened because she ran out of time. This was probably a red flag that I ignored but she ran over her time with the client before me and I waited 30 mins. Her next client arrived while she was still only halfway done with my hair and I feel like she started to panic and rush (I was at the salon for 3 hours total). I ended up receiving a pixie cut rather than my short "bob" type style. Which in most cases I would be fine with because mistakes happen (and i like pixie cuts on me), but this hair style she gave me was so uneven and lopsided that I was speechless when she handed me the mirror to look at the back of my head. She had haphazardly "styled" and spiked every which way to hide its unevenness. I left the salon with my hair a mess, feeling awkward that I hated my hair in front of her next client. After I arrived home I really noticed how bad the haircut was, and then even more so when I took a shower to try to restyle it. There's parts of my hair that only have a half inch of hair while the opposite side is 2 inches. I had to change the side my part was on to hide how much hair was left on one side of my head verses the other. It's a real a-symeterical look. My neck line looked like a step ladder after I showered, and had my husband even out for me before I needed to go to work. Overall, the stylist had very bad communication and time management issues, and is charging above her skill level. I was left feeling really taken advantage of and lied to. I tried to reach out to the salon but am unsure who to address my concerns with and have not received a response with my attempts.

Bomb spot. Love the staff, the history, the funky vibe, the inclusivity and the talented and friendly stylists. I don't even live in SF anymore but every time I'm in town I make a point to get my hair done there.

Shelley did a terrible job. She gave my friend dead ends on the shorter parts of her hair. She did not listen to my friend and neither did she follow any of the references she showed her. There was no layering done even though my friend had clearly asked for it. She made her feel bad for describing what she wanted. All this for $120. Overall very poor service and would not recommend.

Got creative color done with Scoots and Madi and the experience was just fantastic. I was there for hours, but it didn't feel like it, and I am just soo appreciative of how kind, gentle, talented and hilarious Scoots and Madi were. My hair looks unbelievably stunning, their attention to detail was incredible, and the conversation was just so much fun. This is my new color place!

Have had two visits with Carroll who's done a lovely job with giving me a fresh, very short haircut. Highly recommend her!! The salon itself is a relaxed if not somewhat loud environment (to be expected at a hair salon). There's a very community centric vibe as well. I was also impressed that many people were still masking, which I appreciate a lot.

Jude is super amazing hairdresser, super attentive to detail and so accommodating! the bleach was starting to hurt my head so I told them and we took it off early but they were like, it's no problem! and colored my hair beautifully anyway. shout out, im gonna look so cute at my wedding!!

Love the eclectic, positive vibes of this salon. My daughter and I noted that everyone seems to genuinely love their jobs! Sev did a major cut on my daughter's coarse, very thick and curly hair. They used the reference photos my daughter brought them, took the time to evaluate and listen to her wants and recreated the post pandemic afro she wanted back. Sev is very professional, thorough and did a fantastic job! Sev cut my wavy hair a few months back and did a trim today. They are very very knowledgeable about curly coils and again did a spectacular job! We lost our stylist several years ago, making it difficult to trust someone with our curly hair, but Sev has gained our trust! We LOVE Glama-Rama! Thank you, Sev!

Nora did an amazing job on my hair again! Listened to my requests and trimmed just as much as I needed, plus was very fun to chat with! The front door to the salon does NOT have a wheelchair auto opener button and door is a little heavy. Inside, the space is wheelchair accessible and Nora cut my hair while I sat in my chair so I didn’t have to transfer to the salon chair. The hair washing stations are also moveable to stay in your wheelchair, though I transferred out to their chairs. Everyone was sweet and I’m happy with my cut!

Shelley did an amazing job with my hair! I haven't had a haircut in months and honestly it gives me anxiety because I haven't found a good hairstylist since I moved to california 5 years ago... but I'm new to SF and I am so glad I came to Glama-Rama! She worked easily with my hair, I didn't even have a style in mind (I just told her go for it) and I am so happy with the results! I never make appointments in advance but after my haircut today, I immediately booked another one.
