If you want a good haircut, go to Glenn. It is worth the money. As someone on a medical resident salary this is one of the things I would still budget for. Now I will fly back to dallas just for this. It sounds bougie. But if you get one haircut from this man you will understand. One time I tried to go to a place on the east coast where I live now, and the person cutting my hair said "who cuts your hair normally? They did a really good job shaping it - it's really held up". I told them about Glenn while they cut my hair ..... Then I ended up having to go to Dallas anyways for Glenn to fix that cut, which he did beautifully. There are some things that are just worth it... this is one of those things !!!

Glenn was not only an exceptional stylist and fixed a bad cut from a different stylist, but he clearly does love curly hair - he taught me about my curl, and how to appreciate and take care of them. I had a great experience with Glenn! He was very professional and friendly! This was my second curly cut with Glenn and he did a great job! He listen and asked what i was looking for in my cut. It was almost a Deja vu moment because he did my first curly cut 5 years ago around the same time and my cut was bomb! I fell off getting my curly cuts for a bit but I knew where to go to get back on track. I am extremely pleased with my curly cut and love the products he uses on my hair!

I moved back to Dallas about a year ago and I struggled to find to find a stylist that would treat my natural hair like curly hair that deserved to be embraced and styled, as opposed to managed, straightened or “protected” (ie braided or put under a wig). I found Glenn online and appreciated his work, but honestly I hesitated to book an appointment since I was unsure if a white guy would REALLY be able to manage my dense, natural (ie black) hair. I am so glad I put my biases in check and booked! Glenn is the first stylist I have had in a long time that asked about me, my hair goals, lifestyle and style wants. He gave me great advice and made me part of the process - I was not there to just get his interpretation of my style, but to collaborate with me. He gave me a great cut, I will go back to Glen without hesitation. One tip, if you are interested in seeing Glenn, think about your goals so you can collaborate together.

I’ve been going to Glenn for 3 years and I love how he takes care of my hair. We always begin with a consult and he wants to know what’s going on with my hair and what I’m looking to do. I love that he doesn’t just jump right in. He is very meticulous and pays attention to detail. My hair goal is growth and length retention. I love my cut and Glenn styles my hair so great. Glenn has been cutting my hair for the past 4+ years. We talk about what kind of cut/length Im looking for, and he pays attention to the different curl patterns and how much tension to use/not use when cutting. I typically go from ~shoulder blade length to ~just above the shoulders. Appointments start on time and I always leave with a cut I love. He's friendly and easy to talk to. Would definitely recommend for any curly ladies looking for a cut.

I had an amazing experience with Glenn!! Very friendly, talkative, professional, and honest about what he can do for you. I’ve been getting curly cuts for 10 years and I have never left a salon happier. Today I had a customer approach me and ask me where I got my hair done because she loved it so much. She came back 5 minutes later with Glenn’s instagram pulled up and was extremely excited to have found him! She said she loved the way my haircut framed my face and that she’d been looking for a good curly stylist for ages. Definitely recommend going here if you’ve got tight curls and a big head of hair!

I've been to Glenn twice and won't be back after yesterday's experience. I concur with several reviews below on the sometimes ungracious style of interaction and say with respect that there is vast room for improvement there. Mostly though, just a note for my fellow 3Bs or 3Cs, if you have fine, soft-textured, looser curls you won't get much more than a basic trim here, and there are much more affordable options in the metroplex. I think it would be better if Glenn's website were more explicit on the types of curls he excels at. A 200 dollar trim with gratuity was (literally) a high price to pay to come to that realization.

Let me start by saying Glenn is amazing. Glenn has made me love my hair. When I first went to Glenn about 2 years ago, my hair was severely damaged from heat and a bad cut. I was literally afraid to let anyone touch my hair. Glenn was patient and listened intently to what I wanted. He promised me he would help me love my curls. He didn’t lie. He has fully earned my trust and I refuse to go to anyone else but Glenn. He is very approachable and truly loves his craft. If I message him on social media with a question, he always does his best to get back to me quickly. I always enjoy my time with him and he makes the experience wonderful! He is very passionate and truly cares about his clients. I recommend Glenn 1000%

We have been loyal clients for about 2yrs. Glenn has a special knack for curly hair. After my mom attempted to get her dream cut from others, she finally tried Mr. Glenn. She says she’s never loved her hair so much. He listens and immediately implements. He is very detailed and makes sure every curl is in place. Will continue going.

Wow! Let me just tell you that Glenn is amazing!!! After I grew out my natural hair during Covid, I went to Glenn for my first wash and go. He was so knowledgeable and took the time to teach me how to do my own wash and go! I went into braids on and off for a year to grow length and I returned to Glenn for my second curly cut. I got my first curly cut as a student for a curly cut class. They did a good job but I was still in the process of growing out some heat damage so my hair was a little whacky. Glenn provided a full assessment of my curls, we talked about my style routine and then we talked about the shape I wanted. He took his time trimming my curls (he is a perfectionist) and I was wowed when he finished. My curls were popping!!! I’m so happy I found Glenn in the DFW area!

My recent haircut with Glenn was the best (Great trim AND still have my length)!!! He knows/understands the difference of trimming vs. cutting my fine, multi textured hair. Thankfully, he has worked with me through growing my hair from a damaged big chop (damaged by a former stylist) to my hair growing and only needing to trim my hair to keep the style/shape. I've been hesitant to ask a stylist to "trim" my hair because I always leave the salon feeling like I should have taken more time to explain what I "really" wanted. This is not my experience with Glenn. He is kind, professional and most of all, a great listener. His experience with curly, coily, and/or wavy hair shows through his work. I appreciate Glenn's willingness to give his clients what we want in a hair style vs. how he thinks we should live in our hair. I always leave the salon with my hair having more volume and style and inspired to continue growing healthy, natural hair.

Very very disappointed with what happened to me. I booked Glenn one month in prior and was very excited to get my new hairdo as I was going on a trip this week . When he reached out to me 3 weeks ago, I clearly mentioned him that my hair is thin and on the soft curls side. I even sent him a picture of how my hair looks. I arrived at the time of my appointment after 1 month of wait, and all he told me was he did not want to deal with my hair as he is specialised only with tighter curls. I don’t live in Dallas and I had to travel 40 minutes just to hear that. I appreciate him for being honest, and not messing up my hair, but that should have been told long back when I sent the picture. It was just a waste of my time. If you have loose curls, this is definitely not the place to go.

Glenn is excellent! It was my first time in a few days ago and he was so kind, so gentle, and he explained so much that I never knew about my hair! The first thing he said to me when I sat down in the chair was "So, tell me about your hair!" He was enthusiastic and such a great listener! He made my hair look amazing. I had an OK experience, it would be a 5-star review for a normal hair salon, but I know for us curly gals it can be a somewhat emotional decision to find and pick a hair stylist and we place a lot of trust in where we get our hair cut. So I would probably not recommend Glenn for gals with longer hair and looser curl pattern. My hair cut was OK but I have definitely had better. If I hadn't had better experiences, I would probably have left thinking that was the best my hair could look, but I know it's not. I really appreciated a lot of the information I received, but I had to really work hard to ask questions (which I can sometimes have difficulty with as I am not the most confident person with that) and the information was not volunteered easily. I was told to 'chill' when I started to ask about the product routine, but he never explained the products he was using later, so I had to ask again - and even then, he never said what the names of the products were. When I entered the building, he asked me to tell him about my hair; I wasn't sure what he meant, and he told me that with his clients who can't give him the 'story of their hair' he points them to the door. I felt bad so I started to apologize and give more information, but the then told me we were past that point. That made me really uncomfortable and probably caused me to be abit more tense the rest of the appointment. Overall he really seemed to know his stuff, but he didn't do the best job with my hair when I compare it with others, and combined with how uncomfortable I was during most of the appointment, I would not recommend.

Not sure what to do with your loose, wavy curls? Go somewhere else. I wish I’d read Abigail M's and the other negative reviews prior to making an appointment. I had a very similar, unpleasant experience and would in no way recommend this salon to anyone ever. I’ve never written a review, good or bad, but feel compelled to get this off my chest. After scouring the web looking for someone to help me find a style that would make the most of my hair’s mix of loose curls and waves without blow drying, curling or straightening, I chose Glenn Loves Curls. His website says he is a “curlystylist specializing in tight, curly, and coily natural textures” and it also says he does cuts for his straight-haired clients. I figured “Great! I’m in between. Who better to help?” So, I booked the most expensive First Time Client Curly Cut thinking that would best compensate him for his time. I was so excited for my appointment yesterday, but from the moment Glenn unlocked the door to let me in, I felt a chill that had nothing to do with weather or the thermostat. There was not even so much as a “Hi, I’m Glenn nice to meet you.” I was told to sit in a chair, he pulled up a stool and asked me to tell him the story of my hair. What? I did my best to tell a story and then tried to explain that I wasn’t sure what to do but was hoping for a style to take advantage of the waves. Very abruptly he said something to the effect of he wasn’t going to tell me what to do and that in his salon it is a collaborative effort -- I needed to have a picture of a style or something for him to go by. I should have left right then and there because he made me feel like I was an idiot wasting his time. But I had committed to his services and felt like leaving was not the right thing to do -- I still had hope he would do a good job. Everything I asked about doing style wise after that received a negative reply. He finally said to forget everything I’ve read on the internet because it is wrong and maybe I should just start off with a small change to which I agreed. I tried to ease the tension I felt by engaging him in small talk but gave up after a while and sat in awkward silence while he proceeded to basically give me a very methodical trim, wash and dry offering no advice or guidance as to what he was doing and why. I had to ask what products he used and when he finally asked if I had any questions, I said no because I was just ready to get out of there (pretty much every technique he used like clipping and defusing can be found on the internet, so I guess not everything I’ve read is wrong). Despite my fake “yeah, that looks good” I left not looking much different and feeling like I’d done something wrong by showing up without super curly hair and an exact blueprint of what I wanted. Worse I felt very foolish for paying what I did (including a meager tip) and knowing I’m still in need of a style. In terms of a customer service experience, yesterday goes on a very short list of unpleasant ones right behind a root canal I had 20+ years ago where the dentist yelled at his assistant the entire time, couldn’t deaden my tooth enough and told me I needed to tough it out. I won’t forget the way it me feel for a long time.

The absolute best curly hair stylist in Dallas! His prices are reasonable for the years of experience, quality of work, solo client focus (not jumping between 2 clients), and has a comfy, roomy, beautiful studio. My hair is now healthier than I've EVER had it, bounces, stacks curls in just the right places, and fits my face perfectly! It is exactly what I want and he has only gotten BETTER over the past year (about 4 hair cuts)!!! If you want a cut and style like you're in NYC, I can attest to finding him after being spoiled at the Ouidad flagship in NYC! Glenn is truly talented!!!

I had my first appointment with Glenn on 1/4/20. He did a thorough consultation in which he educated me about my hair, product recommendations along with the best wash and go I have ever had. I was looking for a curly specialist to help me figure out what works best to give my curls ultimate life. Glenn is the best. If I could give him 10 stars, I would! My salon experience with Glenn was the best one I’ve ever had, and he is the only person I will let cut my hair from here on out. Back in December, my hair caught on fire from a candle and my hair was left extremely uneven and damaged. I honestly didn’t even think it was fixable, but Glenn worked his magic and my hair now looks the best it’s ever looked. I LOVE the shape he cut my curls into, and I’ve been getting compliments from all my friends and family on the cut. Not only does Glenn have incredible attention to detail, but he actually takes the time to listen to what the CLIENT wants, rather than just doing what he wants to do with your hair (like many stylists often do). He is also very sweet and very informative, making sure to answer all of my questions along the way and teaching me techniques as he styled my hair. Not only that, but when I emailed him after my salon visit asking about specific products and techniques he used, he took the time to email me back a very long and detailed step by step guide on how he did my hair so I could continue styling my hair to perfection! If you want a stylist who truly cares about your hair, is patient enough to teach you how to care for your curls, and is a perfectionist in making sure that your hair cut is immaculate.... GO TO GLENN! I live in Austin and had to drive 3 hours to see him and it was 100% worth it and I will continue to do so anytime I need my hair cut again!

Went from a first time client to a loyal client after this appointment! I’ve just started my curly hair journey to get my hair to its natural healthy state so this was my first DevaCut ever. I couldn’t have asked for better experience than what I had with Glenn! He took the time to understand the current state of my hair, my routine and what kind of results I’m looking for. He really treats it like more than a business and makes you feel like a unique client as he truly wants to help you learn about your hair and how to take care of it.
