I have been going to Gloss since moving here 1.5 years ago. I have seen a few different stylists and have had a variety of cuts and color done and it has always been exactly what I was asking for or sometimes even better than expected!

I just got my first cut in a long time and Sam was uniquely awesome dealing with my mass of curly hair, thanks so much! Many have tried before but none have shown so much skill and poise in taming the beast that is my hair. She also has a unique comb that didn't rip my hair out or break itself haha. Top notch in all regards! I highly recommend her and the salon in general. Cheers

After searching for a new stylist, I decided to book with Sam, who recently joined Gloss. Sam gave me a perfectly styled inverted bob. Her attention to detail and skill are impressive, and the whole experience was fantastic. I’ll definitely be returning and highly recommend her!

I NEVER leave reviews let alone a bad one. I have worked In customer service/ healthcare my entire adult career. I understand things can be out of one’s control ,and bad experiences happen. However In my 34 years of life (25 of those getting my hair professionally dyed). I have never walked into a salon for a cut/color ,and be told by the stylist she cannot lighten my hair AT ALL. I have not dyed my hair in over 1 1/2 years. I have never used box dye. The stylist took a small sample of my hair. Hair that hadn’t been washed in 3-4 days and had build up of dry shampoo and hairspray. She used that piece to “show” me how my hair lifted. The lift was fine. The ends of my hair were split (granted I haven’t cut my hair in 6+months so that’s no surprise). You would of thought the sample piece of hair sizzled away with how she reacted. I was told she could not only not lighten my hair to a copper red (with blonde hair lights), she refused to color my hair at all. This is after I told her I was willing to take any risk associated with lightening my hair even if that meant breakage. She still refused. I understand she was young and most likely not experienced enough. I’m sure she has fried someone hair in the past, thus not wanting to take any chances. However, if this is this case ASK FOR HELP. If you don’t have the knowledge or expertise get someone else who does. I didn’t walk In with fried bleach blonde hair wanting a miracle. I walked in with hair that hasn’t seen dye in over a year. She also kept saying the ends of my hair still showed lightness (bleach) from past a dye job. That would be impossible since I haven’t lightened my hair in over 4 years ,and my hair has been cut shoulder length since then. My hair is completely at its natural color (med dark brown) with a few grays in my bangs). I won’t be naming the stylist, since that’s irrelevant. I will however be telling anyone and everyone not to waste their time at this particular salon. I have already booked another app with my old salon in Hyde park, who were blown away by my story. They did the SAME sample of my hair, with no issues at all. They also couldn’t believe management never reached out or followed up. Since Gloss is literally across the street from where I live I wanted to try it out. Save a little time on driving out to Hyde park. Big mistake on my end, I now understand when you find a good quality salon STAY. After reading old reviews I can tell the owner doesn’t take well to negative reviews. Will see how long this review stays, or if I get a reply back stating I’m lying about my experience. Even after denying the ball of my services I STILL walked out paying $35 for a trim. I felt bad leaving the girls chair and honestly felt pressured into staying for some sort of service. I feel money was wasted on both ends. I left spending $35 for a trim, and the salon left hundreds of dollars plus a tip on the table for denying services. Oh, this is also after I was reschedule with a new stylist. Apparently the first girl “no longer works for the company”. I can’t imagine why 🤔.

I want to take a moment to recognize Emily. I recently tried an “in-shower shine toner” that unexpectedly turned my hair blue-grey, leaving me devastated right before an event. Desperate for a quick fix, I reached out to some local Facebook groups seeking a stylist who had immediate availability. Emily responded and offered to help on a late Friday afternoon. She was incredibly kind and understanding of my situation. Emily worked wonders on my hair, and I’m so grateful she took me on as a client during this hair crisis. Looking forward to booking with her again soon!

Sharing to warn others. I've been a returning customer for a long time. I went in with this inspiration picture and was told it could be accomplished no problem. Only to be told the permanent color this stylist applied would not lift. I messaged the stylist on several occasions to get her to fix it. Even offered to pay for it, and was left on read. Walked out of salon with orange and red hair. Messaged the owner to ask her stylist to contact me and make this right and was told that there's nothing they can do. I was told that I should have come in for a re do. How can I book a re do if the stylist left me on read? $230 wasted. Not to mention when you are left on read repeatedly when reaching out to get a resolution to this. She didn't reply because she knew she messed up. Stylist was molly. I attached the conversations in attempt to get her to fix it. Also the owner Melanie. Got quoted $500 for a second color correction to fix this mess. Have some integrity gloss salon and train your stylists to not completely ruin someone's hair !!

The salon is so clean and fun. The stylists are all professional, nice, and inviting. Perfect place to go for knowledge employees and a great environment! Jaden was my hair stylist and she did amazing. Planning on re-booking again and again!

I recently visited Gloss Salon, and while there was a slight mix-up with another stylist, I was extremely impressed by how the situation was handled. Hallie at the front desk was incredibly problem-solving and accommodating, quickly turning things around for me. With just a five-minute notice, Millie was able to fit me in, and she did an amazing job. I love love love my hair. Thanks to their quick thinking and skill, my experience was saved, and I will definitely be returning. Highly recommend Millie.

Full of snooty unprofessional stylists and management. Never will set foot in this place after reading all the reviews about this establishment. Alexis is horrible at her job & manager Mandy is such a joke! Not to mention when I tried to cancel due to a personal family matter they showed no remorse. I know for a fact I won’t go here and neither should you! Stuck up and honestly sub par stylists are hired here! Edit* I did make an appointment with Alexis and after trying to reschedule they were rude. So no I will never come to your garbage place. Hope it’s shut down

jessie fixed 29 years of trauma in one hair appointment. She did EXACTLY what i was wanting and i left her chair almost in tears with how beautiful i felt. she was so knowledgeable and was so gracious to share that knowledge with me. i came in with a horrendous haircut from someone else and she fixed it with no problem. i will no longer go to anyone else!!!! thank you so much jessie! 🖤✨

Melanie has been my stylist for years now and I’m ALWAYS happy with my hair cuts and how I’m treated while in gloss. It makes me so sad to see 1 star reviews from people who haven’t even visited the salon.

Gloss is definitely a place everyone should check out! Everyone there is super nice and very attentive. You feel very pampered while you are there. My stylist Molly is the best I’ve ever had! She’s the sweetest person and you can have the best conversations with her. She has gotten my hair the blondest it’s ever been and works very quickly. She gets my hair exactly like my inspo pics! If you r interested in getting very blonde I recommend sweet Molly!!

My first visit to Gloss Salon and I was so impressed! The staff was so nice and helpful. Maycee did an amazing job adding blonde highlights and styling my hair! Absolutely loved it! I have had so many compliments! I highly recommend Maycee!

This place is awful,avoid this “salon” at all costs. They completely butchered my hair from a simple trine to a simple dye job. Extremely overpriced! They make you sign a contract to get your hair done and they use that contract to cover their assets after completing destroying my hair. They don’t care about making the customer happy. My “blonde specialist” was very young and probably didn’t have much experience, I went in with blonde allready in my hair and left with none. And was charged nearly $300.

I go see Jessie Sears for all my hair needs! Jessie works at both locations on set days and is AMAZING. My hair always comes out looking flawless but most importantly Jessie has the best customer service skills and is so kind! Highly recommend <3

Melanie, the owner of Gloss does an excellent job mentoring her stylists. Molly, one of the newer Gloss stylists is no exception. Molly actively listens, shares ideas and a possesses a trait I enjoy in any stylist.... perfectionism. Molly will not allow you to leave her chair with anything less than a smile and agreed upon hair success!
