What a beautiful salon with affordable prices and expert work! Truly the perfect balance of location, affordability, and talent. I can't believe I've lived downtown for 4 years and never came across this spot before, but its lofty location certainly keeps it above the fray and it boasts such a warm environment. I've just had my first appointment with Lollie, who is a very gifted, experienced hairdresser and a total sweetheart who makes for wonderfully pleasant company. I highly recommend this salon to anyone looking for convenience, reasonable prices, and quality work.

This salon is so FUN! The space is light and airy, and the stylists here are great. I needed my hair recolored after an issue with another stylist at a different salon — and Ashley and Andrea were able to fix it up beautifully! I will absolutely be back to visit and would highly recommend Gold on Grand to others.

Gold on Grand is a vibe. Lollie is amazing and I wouldn’t trust anyone else to do my hair. My wife and I have had a variety of services, including cuts, colors, and styles and it has been flawless each time.

Awesome blow out and toner with Michael, location is a little hard for me find since there is no clear signage from the street but it’s on the fourth level. Very happy with the service overall!

Great and friendly Salon. I’ve been coming here for years now. I see Ashley and she always does a great job listening to what I’m looking for. I always leave the salon loving my hair! She also gives advice on hair treatment at home. Couldn’t be happier!

Amanda was so great, took plenty of time to consult what I wanted, and gave me an amazing haircut that matched exactly what I asked for! The salon is so cute too and everyone is super friendly. Highly recommend!

Needed a cut while visiting LA on business. I was able to make appointment couple days before. My haircut was by Amanda and highly recommend her. She heard what I wanted and also made sure she asked if I was satisfied before finishing. Will definitely return in couple months when I’m back in town.

I came to Gold on Grand for the first time last year. Since moving to LA, the municipal water slowly ruined my hair; it got oily so fast and my scalp was a sticky mess. Like many women, I consider my hair to be my crown and it was almost depressing to see it droop as much as it was. I booked Michael for my appointment and have been incredibly grateful for that decision since! Not only is Michael an excellent stylist - he recommended a length and cut I hadn’t envisioned but worked beautifully for me - he also listened to my scalp frustrations and recommended several products to me to treat it. After using the products consistently, my hair is noticeably stronger and thicker and my scalp woes have diminished significantly. I’m a lazy girlie and only get my hair cut every 6 months or so - if it wasn’t for how long it had grown, I wouldn’t have needed a cut because the style Michael gave me grew out really well over time! But I returned again last weekend and again, I’m so happy with the cut and will continue to return 🥰🥰

Michael styled my wedding hair! Absolutely nailed the assignment. 👸🏻💐 I wanted Art Nouveau styled hair-- flowing natural loose curls/waves, hair down, botanical accessory or element. See photos-- Michael accentuated my natural curl pattern in a wash/scalp cleanse/ curly girl style. Then he secured a very special 1990s silverpaste tiara with an amazing technique. It held in place all night, even though the tiara had no hair combs. Magical technique 🪄👑 He rigged out the tiara with some heavy duty bobby pins, hair bands, and tied a beautiful delicate bow in the back. 🎀 it looks like it's just floating in my hair, and felt weightless, no snags or hair tears. Michael was so pleasant to work with-- he was patient, thoughtful, generous, calm, excited to figure out exactly what my hair needed. I came in for a consult a month beforehand and he knew immediately how to work with my tiara! Took on the task with enthusiasm. He even included a special hair treatment as a gift. My hair held well all 12 hours of my wedding day! His price was also a blessing-- I tipped 100% because I was so amazed by the generosity, warmth, celebratory energy, creativity, professionalism. I cried tears of gratitude upon thanking Michael. Forever grateful, Gold On Grand Salon has my enthusiastic recommendation! 🌞

I made an appointment for a haircut in advance, arrived five minutes before the start of the haircut, but I was asked to wait 15 minutes, since the master was busy and had not completed the previous work. I was offered free drinks for waiting. I was accepted and given a haircut. At the end, when the master finished the work, I realized that my haircut was crooked, that is, the left side was longer than the right. I politely asked to correct it, but there was no result, I asked to do it again. more or less leveled. I didn't have a complicated haircut. I just asked to remove a couple of centimeters of length, I have a simple straight haircut. I paid 80 dollars

Micheal is the best! I first went to him for a long layered haircut after I messed up my hair trying to cut curtain bangs at 2am. He fixed my curtain bangs and blended them seamlessly into the rest of my hair. He gave me an amazing blowout and some great product recommendations. And then just today I went back as I was interested in changing the undertone of my orangey/copper blonde hair to a more cool toned beige. I had never done color in a salon before so I was very nervous. Micheal did an all over color on my hair and took it from a brassy copper color to a cool toned beige while still maintaining the highlights my hair had naturally developed from being in the sun. It came out incredible and exactly how I wanted it if not better. 100% recommend!!

So glad I’ve finally found a go-to spot to get my haircut. Michael is a true master of his craft. His attention to detail and thoroughness is second-to-none, he notices things that need adjusting (usually the result of poor past haircuts) before I even say anything and he has such a fantastic, chill demeanor. I was given refreshments as I waited to be sat in his chair, everyone was super friendly and the space is very cute. I look forward to my next cut several weeks from now!

Just chopped my hair with Michael and had such a great experience. Michael sat with me and talked about my hair history and what I was envisioning for myself. The salon itself is super cute on the 4th floor. I will definitely be back for my next trim!

I have been getting my hair done by Lollie for years! My natural hair is curly, coarse, and jet black. Lollie has kept me a beautiful healthy blonde for years. She also does my Brazilian blowouts and teaches me how to care and style my hair in between hair color. Highly recommend!

Is it possible to give more than 5 stars? I’ve been going to Gold on Grand for almost 5 years and they’ve knocked it out of the park EVERY time. Ashley is amazing and I always leave with my hair looking even better than I could have even imagined. Jen is SO sweet and a master at scent blending and making the perfect unique perfumes! I don’t trust ANYONE except for the staff at Gold on Grand with my hair. I can’t recommend them enough - going to them will be the best decision you’ve made!

This place is amazing! Not only did Ashley make my hair look the best it ever has (I’m super picky about my color!) but the inside of the salon is incredibly stylish, clean and comfortable... and there is a bar & pac man machine! Will definitely be coming back again!

Today was my first visit and I was looking for a place that uses natural plant derived hair dye (Davines) and found this place. Michael was very friendly and did a good job of washing out my hair. There were no stains on my face and my scalp felt very clean. It's not too expensive like the reviews say, especially for the quality of product and service!

Walking into Gold on Grand Salon is like being taken to an upscale luxury retreat for a few hours. The views of old downtown buildings through huge bright windows give NYC vibes. The wash bowl room has GUCCI tiger wallpaper and makes you feel like your at a cool party at SoHo house. The music is always good. Ashley and her crew go above and beyond to make you feel pampered and comfortable. Ashley will take her time to get it right and NOT damage your hair. There is nothing like fresh hair and a glass of Rosé to brighten ones spirits. So happy I found this place when I moved to LA two years ago. Every time I leave I feel like a happier and more beautiful version of myself.
