I cannot say enough good things about this salon. The people are lovely and know how to make you feel cared for. As I have aged into perimenopause, my hair has gotten curly. A friend recommended Presley Poe to help me with my new found curls and I could not be more pleased with the results. Not only is the cut amazing for accentuating my curls, but also beautiful when it is worn straight. My hair looks and feels incredible! 15 out ten stars, highly recommend!!!

They have made me feel so welcome and part of the team from the day I started. The clients of the salon are well taken care of and treated with respect. I recently visited Presley at Gold Studios and I couldn't be happier with the results! I came in with long hair, wanting subtle yet defined layers to add volume and movement, and my stylist absolutely nailed it. She took the time to understand exactly what I was looking for and explained how the layers would work with my natural hair texture. The attention to detail was incredible; she cut each layer perfectly, giving my hair a fresh, light, and beautifully textured look without losing any length. The salon itself was clean, welcoming, and relaxing, I felt genuinely cared for from start to finish. I walked out feeling like a new person, with a cut that’s easy to style and maintain. I can’t say say enough amazing things about Chelsea. I recently had extreme post traumatic hair loss and have been dealing with weird grow out and texture. Chelsea has been so gentle, understanding and caring with my hair. She’s made suggestions that were best for my hair to ensure that it stays healthy, even when I wanted to bleach the crap out of it 😆 Shes helped the shape and has overall been such an amazing person to be with on my hair journey, as well as a great person in general. ♥️

So I have been following Presley for sometime on Instagram. I needed some hair help, and I wasn’t too impressed with the stylist located in Sacramento California. I flew to Portland to have my hair done. The biggest things I received from Presley besides laughs and great hair was: Her website says you will receive a whole experience! True. Her salon is recognized as a place where people feel safe, treasured, valued, listened too, validated, and peaceful. All of them that work there, including the coffee shop next door, have the same energy of comfort, positivity, and encouragement. Presley definitely lived up to her words and the dream for her salon, teaching, and listening: which is everyone is loved, valued, no matter who you are. We welcome you to experience “us”. Thank you pretty lady for my experience! I hope to one day see you again in the future ! We all have one life to live… May we never turned down an opportunity to do, be, and experience greatness! Joni is seriously THE BEST!!! This was my first experience at a salon and it was amazing. I’m new to taking care of curly/wavy hair and Joni walked me through the entire process. She taught me EVERYTHING. She even explained why she was cutting my hair the way she cut it. I walked in wanting to learn how to take care of my hair but walked out feeing absolutely beautiful while prepared to take care of my hair at home. I also felt that the amount I spend was very reasonable for the quality of care I received. I cannot wait to come back!!!!

I had been following Presley for about 2 years before finally getting the courage up to schedule. I don’t know why I waited so long. At 49 I FINALLY got a haircut that works for me and know how to take care of my curls. I waited 2 months to review this to see if the cut and my abilities to maintain my hair would stand. And it did! I LoVE LoVE LOVE it! And my experience at the salon was also so welcoming, and inviting! I felt comfortable and secure telling Presley my woes. I am so happy to have home roots in Portland to travel back here every 6 months for a cut. Another lesson from Presley…a great cut for my hair lasts 6 months! Thank you Presley!!!

Presley is incredible, she brought out more curl in my hair than I’ve ever seen! I walked in with a frizzy practically straight mess and walked out with this (see pic). She also advised me on products, how to apply them, and how to style my hair so I can get it to look like this on my own too!

Total confidence transformation! What great difference in how I felt about my hair after Presley took over! I knew a lot of the curl texture basics, but she gave me specifics on how to work with my own pattern. She even provided lessons on how to finger curl my bangs myself as she was styling! It was so relaxing. Presley is a beautiful patient soul who leaves you with hair that’s going to look gorgeous even after you wash it. I’m confident this hair is going to grow out well, and I’m excited to see her soon for a bang trim!

Following countless disappointing experiences trying to manage my natural hair and thousands of collective dollars wasted not to mention the tears I’ve shed, I found Presley Poe on social media, and after watching her expertly trained hands on head after head of different types of curls, I went out on a limb and planned a trip from the San Francisco Bay area to sit in her chair and give me a true curl experience. It was totally worth the trip and I can honestly say I have never been more thrilled with the results.. Portland will now be my new “hair hub”and I recommend Presley if you are looking for a natural curly cut. I have coarse thick biracial hair. I am also over 50 and have hormonal things going on. Not only did Presley rock my cut, but my hair has NEVER felt better. She is such a gem made me feel cared for and beautiful and I feel honored to be her new client for what I hope will be a long, long time!

Could not have had a better experience!!! Thank you so so much Presley! Presley really knows how to cut hair! Especially curly! Which is so hard to find! The salon is amazing, has great vibes and the staff (and of course Presley) could not be nicer! The atmosphere was incredible and the chairs for washing your hair were awesome!! I've never had a salon chair that supported your neck during washes! As that is always so uncomfortable for me! (I have chronic pain and a long neck) And for the haircut OMFG!!!! My curls are back!!!! I don't think I've had a better curly haircut than now!! Presley is AMAZING at what they do!!! Fixed my hair right up as I was SUPER SUPER nervous to trust anyone again with my curly hair! (Have had traumatic experiences with TRIANGLE cuts!) But! Presley knew exactly what I wanted and I AM SOOOOOOO HAPPY!!!! I'm never going ANYWHERE else again!!! Thank you so much Presley!!!! 😊😊😊😊😊 Before and after!!!!

Book with Presley Poe, you won't regret it! I felt seen, heard, and respected. I have never had a stylist talk through the process so well and encourage me to love the things about my hair that typically frustrate me. I wanted to keep my length while gaining lots of movement and a cut that would work well with my hair whether I blow it out or play up my natural curl and that is exactly what I got. It is the day after my cut and the "new hair glee" has gone nowhere. My selfie does not do their work justice. A huge thank you to Presley Poe and Gold Studio professionals!

Edit: its been over a year and my hair is still traumatized from my cut here (<_>) over half my hair will need to be cut off in order to correct the over thinning that created several shelves in my hair and constant knots that now form at the ends as a result of my cut...I went 4 years without trusting anyone to cut my curls and I admit, I made a mistake going here :( their technique may work on 3c hair but if you are 3c/4a I would beware...i cannot wear my hair straight anymore because of the M shaped mess I was left with...devastation at the thought of having to cut 50% off because of the over thinning 🥺 but just going to bite the bullet and do it. Anyways I just had to come back and update my post to warn anyone with tighter coils to be careful. The curly pic i shared is how lopsided it is and shows how full my top remained and how thin the bottom half was made...the straight hair pics show what i meant by you can see M's all over as a result of the bad cut. They say you get one bad cut as a curly girl 😞 hoping this was my one and only! 🗣CURLY GIRLS listen up! When I tell you it's tiring to do 3 hour wash days, you KNOW what I mean (#_@) so to find a trusted curly hair lover to take it over for us, who loves on EACH curl strand 🤩 is PRICELESS 😭 been curly 4 years now, never stepped in a salon bc I read too many horror stories and I was not trying to be one, OK! 😅 Presley is a beautiful spirit who was BORN to manage manes, especially curly ones! Level of dedication is ever-present ! No matter the curl type, I watched her insta and she slayed EVERYTIME 💪🏽😎 so I took a chance, booked online, drove 2+ hours and happily sat the length of the appointment and learned about my hair and her process! Do yourself a favor and book! Only reason not a 5 star is because booking cost was different from final cost

Found Presley on Instagram and knew immediately they would be able to fix my hair. I got a really bad cut at a different place, then went to another place hoping they could fix it (they couldn’t) and then gave up. Finally, after 3 months and $400 later, i booked an appointment with Presley at Gold Studios. Presley’s vibe is unmatched. They’re super warm and welcoming and I really felt like they listened to what I wanted and were able to read between the lines of what I was saying. I’ll let the photos speak for themselves because words can’t even express how relieved and happy I am with Presley’s work. I cannot say enough good things about them and their talent. I can’t say enough great things about the cuts my daughter and myself got today from Joni and Presley. Thank you all for making my child feel so SEEN, cared for, and valued. There were NO tears and she legit can’t stop grinning and talking about her curls. We are coming to Portland for hair from now on—all the way from Seattle. And while I’m not blessed with my child’s curls, Joni helped me bring my hair back from years of cutting it myself— and I left feeling lighter and ready to move forward. I had an absolutely phenomenal experience at Gold Studio! From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the luxurious ambiance of the salon. If you have curly hair, then Presley is THE hairstylist/artist/EXPERT to go to! It is impressive the work she does, and it is very clear the expertise and dedication that woman has to her craft. I went in with a triangle/A-line flat looking curly mop, and walked out with a beautiful round voluminous set of curls that haven’t looked this good in my 30 years of life. I will always sing her praises. She is the only stylist I will trust with my hair. 10/10 could not be any happier with my hair! Not to mention, Presley does a great job of making a person feel welcomed, comfortable, and safe. Warm, stylish, and inviting are the words that come to mind when thinking of the studio space. The staff were friendly and responsive when texting about the appointment booking. Overall fantastic vibes, gorgeous aesthetic, and even better work.

OMG! LOOK AT MY HAIRRRR Y'ALL!!! JONI is incredible! This is truly the best my hair has ever been!!! I've been getting so many compliments since I got a cut, style, and blowout with her this week. I feel like GOLD! I rarely go to salons to get my hair done -- I'm often intimidated because I don't usually feel like I fit in. Joni approached me warmly the instant we met, was so so kind. We spoke a lot about how we got into the work we do, and I can tell she has a deep passion for inclusivity and helping people feel beautiful. Joni has a GIFT with blondes indeed! Presley Poe is fantastic!!! I have very long hair and my cut retained much of the length the way I wanted. They explained to me how it needed to be cut to move and feel its best given the length. Now it lays so much better and I feel comfortable wearing it down again. Great conversation and camaraderie too. Book your extra long hair appointments here. You won't be disappointed.

The salon is stunning. The atmosphere is majestic. The moment i walked in i felt welcomed. I had my hair cut by Chelsea who is 100/100. She is so beautiful! She was warm, welcoming, and the conversation was great. The best of all, she gave great advice on the style i wanted and cut my hair exactly how i pictured. This radiant smile, these sassy curls…. this picture captures an example of embodiment. This is an example of self-care. This is an example of loving on me. Back in February, I decided to schedule a haircut with a gal down in Portland, Oregon who specializes in cutting, styling and caring for naturally curly hair . That day was yesterday July 13, 2023. I intended that day to be special. My son and I left around 9am to arrive in Portland at 12:20. My appointment was at 1pm. As we arrived a parking spot was magically waiting for me in front of where my appointment was AND there happened to be a fabulous cafe’. We had lunch outside on this beautiful day. And then I went to my appointment. These ringlet curls are the result of that appointment, what do these curls represent? A magical experience that I haven’t had before. To truly treat myself to a haircut by someone who has this gifted talent of seeing the beauty in each individual as she cuts hair that allows the curl to shine, bounce and radiate. Connecting with this special soul one on one was magical as well. Presley has a huge heart of gold. I asked her for sass and fun and that’s exactly what I received. She has this belief to give her clients what they desire. I walked out of that salon feeling like a million dollar Debbie. I felt this high …. and I still feel it, that feels so beautiful.
