I booked hair and makeup services for myself, my mother, and mother in law prior to my city hall wedding this weekend. These ladies blew us away with their attentiveness and how special they made us all feel. We left that morning raving about how absolutely amazing the experience was start to finish. Booking was easy and the communication was everything you could ask for. The day of they took time with each of us to make sure we felt our best. I would absolutely use them again and will recommend them to all of my friends.

This place has really incredible hairdressers but their policies are just not client friendly. For starters, they won’t let me book with a specific hair dresser. I have continually asked for someone I love to do my hair and come in when she’s with other clients. Secondly, if you want to make a same day change for an appointment 2 hours later they charge you $25. High quality salon, but so hard to work with. I used to go atleast 2x a month but I will not be returning because this doesn’t work for me.

Five stars for Goldplaited! I've been getting blowouts at Goldplaited for the past seven years, and it's truly the only place I trust with my hair! I have extremely curly, textured hair, and they always know exactly how to manage it. No matter who styles my hair, the results are always amazing. The owners, Mal and Coco, are incredible—they genuinely know their customers and create such a welcoming, accommodating atmosphere. I've tried blowouts at other salons, but none compare to the quality at Goldplaited. There’s simply no reason to go anywhere else for my blowouts!

I’ve been a client of goldplaited since DAY ONE of their opening and I couldn’t be happier with their services over the years! I have sent countless of individuals who all continue to go back to GOLDPLAITED! It’s a one of a kind experience in Chicago and I love supporting a women owned business too! From the moment you walked in, the team makes you feel so welcome. When I get my makeup done, the stylist always listens carefully to my ideas and brings my vision to life perfectly. The makeup is flawless—enhancing my natural features without feeling overdone—and the hairstyle/blowout held up beautifully throughout the day and night!!! For blowouts or dry styles, they nail it. I have fine and thin hair which can be a struggle for me at home to keep my take perfect curl and make it last all day to night. The Goldplaited team knows how to manage different hair types and make you feel like a million dollars! Also as a busy mom, the blowouts last me for days and not to mention my hair smells so good after too! The salon was clean, beautifully designed, and had such a relaxing atmosphere. I also appreciated how much natural lit fills the space for that perfect makeup application. If you’re looking for a skilled, professional, and friendly team, I highly recommend goldplaited!

I’ve been a member of this business for about 6-9 months and I can’t say enough good things about it. The staff is super friendly, talented, polite and lovely all around. I bungled a few appts and they have somehow always made it work. I own medspas I get how tough it is working w public. They nail it! The management is just as great. Give them a try, you won’t be disappointed. I’d give 7 stars if I could.

Coming from Dallas and being a hairstylist myself for over 20 years, I had high hopes for this place when I came in town for a wedding. I walked 35 minutes from lunch to the salon and was super thirsty when I got there. No one offered me water or a drink and no customers had drinks, either. I was dying of thirst the entire 2 hours I was there. When you see you’re spending over $100 for a half up/half down updo, I would think you’re getting “the works” in regard to service. I work 60 hours a week, 7 days a week, coloring and blowdrying hair for others. In my off time, I am driving my 9 year old son to after school activities. I NEVER do anything for myself and always look a wreck. I just wanted a MOMENT to feel special and be pampered. My up do/hair service was a total of 25 minutes. The girl that did it was super kind. I showed her photos of what I wanted. I hadn’t washed my hair since the day before and it was super greasy from 30 mile an hour winds and walking all over the city. She did not offer to wash my hair. She immediately went into flat iron curling my head and pinned it back. She asked about keeping some little front pieces out and left 2 greasy chunks out. I pinned it all back when I got back to my hotel. The back looked pretty, but everyone looks at the front. I never wanted a photo of myself that night bc of my greasy hair. I just wanted to feel someone else wash my hair for once and to close my eyes and feel what I do for others every day of my life be done on myself. I didn’t get that joy on this day. It’s my fault though bc I didn’t speak up. I hate telling others or suggesting how to do their job so I went with it. To my own detriment. Kimberley did my makeup and was an absolute dream. I could have cried tears of happiness for how she communicated with me the entire time. She spent a full hour with me doing my makeup. THAT is worth all the money in the world to me. Thank you so much, Kimberley. I understand I was at the flagship location and it was busy. I worked at a Drybar in downtown dallas for 7 years while doing color. I was a head colorist for a top salon in dallas. I KNOW busy. But I also know how people want to be pampered and treated. Especially when spending over $100 for a service. Do not charge that much if you’re not going to spend the full hour or even wash someone’s hair. 25 minutes was spent on my hair. 25 MINUTES. With tip I spent $130 for that. I watched a client behind me get blown out and a full blown roller set before her updo. Where was my special treatment? Definitely not at this salon on the Saturday I went in.

I got my hair and makeup done here for professional photos and had SUCH a good experience! My makeup artist did an amazing job - my face had never looked so flawless! Despite my hair never holding a curl for me, the waves she did were perfect all day long (even outside for a couple of hours). I would highly recommend getting services done here. It was exactly what I was looking for!

I booked an appointment with Blo Out Junkie two months prior to my engagement party. I received a confirmation email. The day of my appointment, I thought it was weird that I had not gotten an email or text that week, so I called them. They informed me that it must have been a “glitch” in the system because they had no one on staff doing makeup today. No sorry. No attempt to correct their error, just “sorry not a thing.” I called Gold Plaited and explained what happened. Their receptionist could not have been more kind or empathetic and somehow managed to squeeze me into the schedule immediately because I only had a few hours until my engagement party. My makeup turned out exactly the way that I wanted it to. I really feel like they were my fair godmothers who swept in to save the day. I can not recommend them enough.

I recently came here for a camera-ready makeup apt and had a great experience with Becky! She did a great job and always checked in with me if I wanted anything adjusted throughout the entire makeup application. Highly recommend!

If I could give 0 stars I would. I booked with this salon for a blowout through ClassPass. When I showed up, then tried to upcharge me DOUBLE ($25 on ClassPass, $20 upcharge for my extensions) my original price because I have extensions, despite not listing this anywhere on the ClassPass site, and hiding this fee in fine fine print on their main site. My extensions are short in length, real hair, and sew ins, therefore they do not effect a blowout at all. I also proceeded to confirm this fact with my regular stylist, just to make sure there wasn’t something I was missing. Because this upcharge would have doubled my initial charge, I asked to cancel my appointment and to receive my money back, as I never would have booked with them had I known this was their policy. They agreed to this as I was in the salon, then instead, Goldplaited proceeded to blocked me on ClassPass, denied my claim, and kept my money. This is an incredibly dishonest establishment. Hiding fees and blocking clients is a disgusting way to handle business. Again, if I could give this salon 0 stars I would. Do not go here. It has now been over 3 months and I have yet to see my money.

Goldplaited is a neighborhood essential for us ladies. Booking an appointment online was easy even on shorter notice. I used gold plaited for my hair and makeup before my engagement photo session and the girls there do not disappoint. I recommend this finishing salon for glow ups for any occasion--or just a self care treat!

I used goldplaited for my engagement photos, and while everyone was nice, I would not recommend this business. I told my hair stylist I wanted curls and she kept telling me she wanted to give me waves instead. And then when I told her I had a lot of time in between the appointment and my photos, she still brushed out my curls and my hair looked very flat and not curly or wavy by the time of my photos. She spent maybe 20 min total on my hair for a service that was incredibly expensive. I did like my eye make up look, but the artist did not use a primer on me and the foundation looked extremely heavy. My lashes also fell off twice and I had to go back two times before my photos to get them fixed. The person who fixed it was a different person than who did my make up, and is the only reason I would give two stars instead of one because they were so nice and fixed it perfectly. But it should not have fallen off at all so it was very frustrating I had to keep returning.

I came here for grad photoshoot makeup and hair, they were amazing!! Estrella was amazing!! My hair came out exactly as I wanted and it lasted curly for 3 days afterwards. Absolutely recommend, easily accessible

I got to Goodplaited regularly. I can’t say I have a favorite stylist because every single one of them have been fantastic. I have textured thick hair that can be difficult to style properly, and they get it right every time!

I have been visiting Goldplaited for over one year now on a very regular basis. There is NO BETTER finishing salon in the city. They are fast (and I need fast due to work), professional and their stylists are all experienced and friendly. They also sell clothing and accessories and I’ve scored some great pieces!

Came in for a blowout (38 weeks pregnant and just one of those days where I did not have the energy to do it myself) and Estrella did an amazing job! I am so picky when it comes to getting a blowout and I was super happy with how my hair came out! Will definitely be back to see her!

Seriously soo impressed with this salon! I got the hair and makeup camera ready package. In total the service took a bit over an hour. I don’t ever really wear makeup and I am by no means good at it. The makeup artist was fantastic and didn’t make my face feel heavy. The makeup lasted pretty much the entire night (to like 2am.) I am now planning to use these guys for my wedding next year. Highly recommend.

So happy with my experience with Goldplaited for my wedding day! I got married in Chicago this summer and didn't have a full bridal party (which most bridal hair/makeup artists require), I was so happy to find that Goldplaited allowed for a bride only option. They absolutely killed it and executed my vision perfectly! My hair and makeup lasted the full day/night and I felt exactly like myself on my big day! Special shout to to Andrea who did my makeup and Krista who did my hair, you guys are the best!

They always do a great job. I have only tried the blowout service but every time they get it done just the way I like it and it last for days. The ladies are always super nice and allow me to sit and relax and just enjoy my time. Love this place

Went in for braids with hair added left unsatisfied hair came out the next day. Paid excessive amount for a horrible service. The young lady who did my hair was nice but needs more practice.
