She will waste your time for years on end. In Gregoria an African lady does my hair in an hour instead of the three it takes he purposely slow ahhhh

I would never trust my locs with anyone else but Lemlem. I cannot thank her enough. She is an EXPERT in her field. The salon has all the vibes. And everything about this salon is perfection (except trying to get an appointment — I suggest going down in person to book. They are spotty with returning calls but it’s a small price to pay for the craftsmanship.) I have seen other google reviewers complain about wait times and booking and yes these are both ”issues”. However I grew up in west Africa and this salon is run in a way that makes me feel warm and at home. I just think American culture prioritizes break neck speed and efficiency. For me going to good hair is like going to a spa. It’s ultimately so relaxing. And the quality is top tier.

If you have locs in Seattle then you’ve probably heard, or have been to Good Hair. This is one of the last free hair salons in town that have been around since I was a kid. Support and protect this business as it is one of the few jewels left in the city where they do amassing work with hair, and love the community ❤️

How can I get an appointment here? As a long time customer, it takes months to get the desk to pick up the phone. No messages ever returned. Love the service, but unreachable. I'm preparing on just going in person to get appointments... 5 star if I can book an appointment consistently.

LemLem is the hairstylist who does the twists and locks. I visited her three times and although she is kind, I quit going to her. Not only does she do 4-5 clients hair at a time, but she takes walk-ins ahead of her clients who have appointments if it is someone she knows well or if she feels the style will not take as long as her scheduled client. I typically waited 1-1.5 hours after my appointment time before she has another person start on my hair. She does only basic twists and even if you tell her the style you want, she’ll do the exact same basic two strand twist style. They never answer the phone at the salon which also frustrating. She ignores the phone even when it rings off the hook. I had synthetic hair added for the twists and they start falling out within one week and this last time, some of my natural hair fell out as well. I would look elsewhere if you want to get your hair done.

Unfortunately after 5 months of going here my review has changed. If you book an appointment here even a month in advance, you might have to wait more than an hour to even get into the chair even if you have a scheduled appointment. Wastes so much of my time and it has happened almost every time I’m here now. Lem Lem is a good braider and really sweet but I’m sad to say I will not be going here anymore because of the time management and lack of care they have for wasting your time. Some guy came in an hour after me and she worked on his hair first instead of mine. I got here at 12:10 for an appointment and they didn’t sit me down in the chair until 1:05 - this was actually a shorter wait time than my last appointment when I waited over an HOUR to sit in the chair for a scheduled appointment. I’d understand if this was a walk in but it was not. I really hope they get more help in there and wish them luck.

Great service and decent prices. Lemlem and her staff are super friendly and provide great services over all. The fact that they are always trying their best to accommodate their customers’ individual needs with a great customer service, honest and integrity amazes me.

I’m beyond satisfied with the service here! Lemlem did a great job on my wash and trim. She showed me what she recommended to be cut and we agreed on a length, without taking off more than expected or too little. The staff works in cohesion and it’s extremely efficient. The atmosphere is calm with great music. There was a mutual respect with all of the clients I watched come through. An overall vibe of kindness, I love it here. It does seem like a majority of the service is loc maintenance which looked like good work from where I was sitting.

When I first got my locs started in 2017 Good Hair was ran very smoothly. I ended up being loyal because LemLem does great work when it comes to locs. However, overtime the business has gone downhill when it was sold back in 2018 or 2019. LemLem ultimately took over and I continued to support her. Some of the issues that I constantly ran into were; lack of someone taking phone calls, waiting due to multiple clients and inconsistent pricing(more on this). Never complained, continued to support. Recently I reached out to LemLem via text so I can get my hair done before leaving out of the country this month. I asked if she was available on the 25th and she said no. I asked twice if she was available on the 23rd and never heard back. In regards to the pricing, it stopped being transparent a little bit after LemLem took over as owner but I did not complain and when I would go in the price was different when it came time to pay. It would range from $75 to $135(one-time) every visit even if I had the same thing done. My last or second to last time in, the price was $135 for a wash with an apple cider vinegar wash I brought in, a maintenance and a style. I asked why the price was different this time as it is usually around $75 to $110 and she told me that the style was $35 for my length when it was $10 before. So I proceeded to ask why the pricing has been different every time I come in and was given a vague response which I did not question anymore. LemLem does great work(3 stars for that) and this review is not to deter anyone from supporting her but the business needs more transparency and structure.
